Title: "/c hostile" with a partial name
Post by: Pandip on October 31, 2014, 08:14:23 PM
Presently it seems that you can't hostile someone without typing their full name. Would it be possible to change this so that the command function like /c set ally, which is able to use a partial name input?

I've always thought this was a bug, truth be told. If it can be fixed pretty easily, I'd love to see it!

Partial name is acceptable and works, when it's within specific range from the user. I don't remember if ally checked for range or just did it directly to where ever that named person is, but if we go with checking everything with partial, there's more likely to be accidental and wrong input.

Depends if it was only working on close range, or if it was global function. I may check at some point, but if it was global, there's a good reason why it's not partial.

I believe another reason it may not work with a partial name is because the individual has put some odd spacing before or after their name which may not be immediately obvious.

The hostile command has never worked with partial names, afaik. The setally command, however, works all the time with partials or first names, etc.
