Title: Robes
Post by: Kiaring on April 02, 2009, 08:06:36 PM
I believe robes are not available for modeling at the seamstress/armor smith NPCs because of concerns of abuse - i.e., that people would wear heavy armor that looked like robes and entice others into attacking them only to discover that they were actually packing ridick AC.

I can't see this issue arising if we add robes ONLY for the cloth seamstress NPCs. Still no robes for leather/metal armors, only for cloth/padded cloth, which in my opinion still makes quite a bit of sense.

With the advent of 1.69, robes offer a new variety of options which would help customize and distinguish PCs; this is lost with the no-robes restriction on the seamstresses, much to the dismay of those wishes hawt loincloth action.

Robes on the seamstresses, I beseech sirs.

I'd like to see this too...where else can one obtain a proper loincloth?

Truly this travesty can not go unanswered?

I would've killed for custom robes when I was playing some of my past characters.

I think the idea may be just to keep robes somewhat exclusive instead of any level 2 wizard starting out and wrapping himself up in MAGE ROBES.

I thought it was just because it was low priority on the scripting list. Besides, the MAGE ROBES as you say can be found in the trash along with coats.

plz 2 b doing?

We demand more creativity in our custom clothes!

At the very least, make them charge for certain robes. >_>

What is this even supposed to mean? Robes are already available, just not in any way that players can adjust their appearance. They wouldn't be magical or anything, it's cosmetic, which is very important to a lot of people. For all the work put in on custom things on EFU I'd have to say it's disappointing that 90% of the server population runs around with identical armor / robes on because we are not able to modify / craft our own things.

Quote from: Mort;111184This is rather long to implement and low priority.

No thx for now unless someone takes the time.

Well, I hate the customization that's available so I'm probably just talking out of spite.

I'm sorry, where are you quoting this from?

I'd just like to know, as I highly doubt such a magnanimous person would take someone else's words out of context just to be glib.

So, if someone takes the time to make this possible you'll put it in? Pretty sure there are 100 of these 'tailors' on the vault. Use one and call it a day. As I said, the biggest disappointment about EFU is that so much work has been put in to custom things, but players can't customize their own gear. Modify clothing / armor FTW

They already have working tailor scripts, they just don't have the time to edit them, hence it being 'low priority'.

:P
