Title: New Animal Companion System
Post by: One_With_Nature on February 12, 2015, 11:36:28 PM
Just a general question- Are they only a few animals that can be trained as companion and if so what are they? Everything I've tried to have as a companion so far has said that its not valid as a companion. Including a rat! :(

You may be doing this correctly, but..I believe it works as long as you are using a player tool, like the same type used to homoginize potions, to target your perspective companion.  I found on a ranger I could tame just about anything in the wild, as long as I had the skill to do so.  If your using the player tool option, not sure why it is not working..with the appropriate level of skills needed.

How strange.. I am using the tool with no luck. I'll try again next time i'm on.

First, the NPC has to be AE'd I believe, and then the Companion training player tool can be used after the Animals been AE'd. You should get a message of either "use one more to train this companion", or "You are too low a level to train this companion", or potentially that "this creature is not available as a animal companion".

I know that some creatures that can be AEd cannot bet Trained as an Animal Companion, especially some very powerful creatures.

First of all, you are probably low-level.  When you get higher level there are many options.  Some very strong.  Potentially you could have a Worg, Malar beast, or even a Cave Bear.

If you have the levels.
