I find it strange that people are always able to tell what time it is in the Underdark. Maybe this is a "do in-game" sort of thing, but it'd be pretty cool to have some sort of time-telling device in Upper somewhere. The reason I suggest this as opposed to pushing it in game is because you'd think something like this would already exist.
I remember that in old EFU the town hall had a mechanical svirfneblin timekeeping device.
Well, I was thinking maybe something more along the lines of a placeable above the House of Governance doorway. But now that we're on the subject, why not just create a whole new association dedicated to maintaining Sanctuary's time keeping devices?
And these guys would have some script savy quest where a lone pc must run to giant hourglasses scattered in town, informal countdown going, and at a precise timeframe they'd turn them around. Or a group quest to coordinate that. Isn't efu awesome?
Chronokeepers of Faerun are the sweetest Association by design.

Pssh..!
I always imagined a giant disembodied floating head of Spellguard Commander Barkley projected up over the middle of freedom square "THE TIME IS ___. " followed by some patriotic witticism similar to those displayed in the orb located within Freedom Square. Though perhaps too heavy handed, I would still enjoy such a novelty.
I always thought it was similar to Narbondel in Menzoberranzan, a large pillar of stone that once a day the Archmage of the city casts a spell on and as the 'cycle' goes on it cools showing time passed.
If anything like this can be scripted is beyond me or if it's really that important. ;)
