Sun domain is better at expelling undead than the Repose domain, now. Gonna humbly request Repose domain get the same undead-turning boost that the Sun domain has, seeing as Kelemvor is outspokenly the most anti-undead per his dogma, Doomguide being a Kelemvorite PrC, yadda yadda. I'm pretty sure it's a given that the answer to the question "Which God would focus most on giving his clerics power to combat undead" is Kelemvor, hands down. :)
While Mort is against boosting the current domains, I'd agree that Kelemvor could have it's domains expanded back to the original ones, which included Sun.
While the word "Repose" fits Kelemvor more than the word "Sun," fighting undead is practically one of Kelemvor's defining characteristics, more so than just about any other deity out there. He's basically the patron of undead hunters, his church organizes crusades against the undead, etc. Him granting his clerics less power against undead than other deities simply doesn't make sense.
I'm with ya. Mort just doesn't like the new domains. I agree that Kelemvor should be given Sun or some domain that allows extreme destruction of undead, Its just sad otherwise.
Want to hate undead and use divine power to back it up?
Lathander is your only choice, apparently...
In lieu of Repose, Kelemvor once had sun.
After everyone whinged about there not being repose, we added it!
And now..
Well, like many other things on EFU, adjust it to better fit in? The argument supports itself with Kelemvor's dogma and perspectives. The clerics should get empowered turning in one of their domains, and maybe even bless weapon *gasp* as a first or second level spell.
Or maybe folks should be glad they get domains anyway!
Strip Kelemvorites of all domains, imo.
(Necromancer 4 lyfe)
While there are fewbetter tools to fight undead than turning. While Repose isn't the "Optimum" domain, people aren't going to force you at gunpoint to take it.
Saying boost it because they fight undead and it makes fighting undead easier is like saying Kelemvor should have the Healing domain, since Positive Energy slaughters undead, and getting Empowered Healing and Cure Serious Wounds sooner would let a Kelemvorite destroy many undead with pure positive energy.
RwG you've missed the point. Completely.
Repose is on of the domains on that list would would qualify for the "suck" position, even in comparison to the basic NwN domains. Its darn near useless as it is. This coming from the fact the Kill-em undead domain'd were removed to be replaced by things like Repose. Which, could be made to function in some manner--if the DM's were willing to look it over. I tried once, got shutdown, so I'm just going to ignore the domain. Just seems sad that the god of undead killn isnt even in the top 10 gods fit for the task.
I think its fine for Repose to NOT have the Sun domain because Kelemvor isn't a god of the Sun.
It would make sense to give the domain some kind of combat bonuses against undead as Kelemvorites seem to be more about fighting the undead in combat than using the power of the sun to destroy them. Say turn/level, +1/3 levels added to AB, or +1/2 levels of divine damage to undead.
OR
Give them searing light as a 2nd level domain spell of Repose, just like the Sun domain gets.
* That said, having played a Turning-Based cleric with the Sun domain, I didn't feel it was as effective as I expected. Having extended Eagle's Splendor up giving Blake an 18-20 CHA along with the Extra Turning feat, the cleric had to be high level (7-8 ) to be able to have a significant impact on stronger undead and Nightrisers.
The turning boost was far more effective paired with the Good domain to affect outsiders than against the undead.

Kelemvor is not the god of undead bashing, he just supports the agenda of bashing undead. His primary focus is helping people deal with death.
Lathander's church is arguably more vocal and experienced when it comes to fighting the undead (if only by virtue of having a church older than barely-legal chicks).
Of course, Kelemvor has the special PrC "Doomguide" in PnP. If Kelemvor was central to our server's population we might add an NWN equivalent; but he's not, so there's no reason to make Kelemvor the special god with a PrC. We'd just get a flood of apps for it every time a Kelemvor faction starts up, anyways. And all undead-hunting concepts would be Kelemvorites, too.
If anything, the domain should have Undeath to Death knocked down a level.
Also, let's not forget how useful Remove Disease as implemented in NWN is.

Dogma: Speak against those that would artificially prolong their life beyond natural limits, such as the undead.[/INDENT]I think it seems clear that not only is Kelemvor more expressly anti-undead than Lathander, but that his church also fields more undead hunters, as well.
Scotty, you are right about Kelemvor's focus on helping people deal with death. However, look at how this is done, and Kelemvor's philosophy on death: death is orderly, it is not to be feared, it is a natural part of life, and so on.
Undeath is the refutation of all of these tenets, it is not only a physical abomination but a spiritual one to a faithful Kelemvorite, since it embodies many things that oppose their beliefs in
very specific ways: giving in to the fear of death (for necromancers seeking immortality), a disorderly state of death, turning a natural part of life (death) into an unnatural one, etc.
Anyway, I'm convinced (as a long-time player of various Kelemvorite characters) that not only is Kelemvor's church more actively anti-undead than the others, but also that he is more strongly opposed to the undead than the other deities, including Lathander. And thus, he is more motivated and likely to grant his clergy powers specific to fighting the undead.
