Title: A Little man with Big dreams.
Post by: Random_White_Guy on April 10, 2021, 03:41:14 AM
Phew. This one was a doozy!

The foundation was simple -

"So, what made you so special?"
- Red Skull
"Nothing. I'm just a kid from Brooklyn The Peerage."
Percival Parias

Son of a Carpenter and Washerwoman the goal of Percival was that of all children growing up in harsh times. The tales of old giving warm comforts in the harsh and bitter reality of the world. His Father hired on for manual labor and lumber work for the Restoration of House Glitt. From the impressionable ages of 16-18 he drank in the joy of being an ambitious little naive idiot in a work camp full of hard scrap laborers.

And if no one else was going to do it - he would. After his father's passing being selected for position as Squire of Ser Smythe of Glitt, hard Paladin training, and prepared to be a One Man Reckoning upon the World if need be.

To make sure his Father's name kept in the records of House Glitt, that he did right by his family and his home, and gave it his all to do the absolute most one person could.

Because frankly IG living through the trauma of the Subjugated Peerage, was a fascinating time to be a Paladin, considering the Vampire(allegedly) Count and the Ruby/Knave/Assassin Army and the Orza Brigade and the PC shifty folks and etc etc.

[hide=The Blueprint, established on Day 1 of the PC]

- Building on my friendship and rivalry with Wiggyboy's Rhomos of Velstra I hope to unite Velstra and Glitt as a powerbloc of Old Peerage vs the Sunpurse and Orza new peerage violent hostilities. Velstra as the decadent nobles and adventurers and hedonistic rich guys championed by Ser Nicholas and me trying to take up the counter role in Glitt of True Knight/protect the people/etc. Maybe trying to marry Ser Geno to Natasha to bind the union or even try and shoot for her myself if I gain Knighthood.

- My day 1 plan as i've been spamming IG and on the forums is immediately trying to stymie/squash/crush the House of Zheng. They all ping as Evil as Hell on Detect Evil and IC evidence has come forward of the Alchemics they're selling involving Demon Flesh and Devil Horn and etc. It's a bit of a goofy mechanical hang up as it's random reagents but the story is there for a young paladin to make a name for himself. My hope is to weave a tapestry of factions together away from stupor and "Drive them out" of Little Ticker since that's Glitt Territory and keeping an Evil house there just doesn't make sense to me.  My hope would either be building with smaller events into a big showdown or moving their HQ over by House Greywood and the Vestry outside Glitt Turf if DMs don't want them "Gone gone", and Zheng PCs can have automatic feud with House Glitt for the shame etc. Or instead of Lady Zheng should she perish, make it House Velstra Ruul Apprentice who is turned into the NPC who sells alchemics to alchemists in the Burgage or Vale.

- Should I survive the House Zheng encounter I intend to pivot fully to the Ghyl situation. People keep trying to do it as big "Let's assemble an army and stomp everyone out" but I would try and make it more of a PC ran DM Plot. Pushing efforts via small scale interaction starting with setting up Siege Lines (At both the Burgage and the Gatehouse past the Wield), amping up the pressure in events, and again as I am doing with the Zheng try to play Great Uniter with Charisma to liberate the steadings and drive out the evil monstrous Ghylherd.

- Should I survive that the hope would be to then try and navigate back into the Peerage Ward with some Caesar crossing the Rubicon vibes. House Glitt liberating the Steadings from the Ghyl with honor and distinction and trying to bring back the "Old Peerage" since sunpurse has abdicated the role as Auld House of Honor. Propagating the Glitt as the last bastion of good and honest men, the honorable peerage, the true knights of the ward, and really digging into that mythos with a Velstra/Glitt alliance to bring finally some contention with Orza and Sunpurse.

- Along the way my intention is to earn a Knighthood and similar to Jouvander making my own "House". However rather than remaining a Retainer of Glitt I hope to make my own house, my own colors, and pursue a Vassal House of Glitt. The intention would be to try and either secure Oldspyre or build up to Castle Mishearth and begin my final push. Marquis de Savary's bio talks about him winning his title by "Gambling" which my PC would see as an affront to all the old peerage stands for and I'd hope to engage in a bitter feud.

- Ultimately then the matter would be on par with what was done by Matteo for Giovanni of this PC Minor Lord on par with Kwhajar and the others, with my own colors and Retainers, taking the Castle as a Faction HQ, and as Marquis de Parias try and do some pretty big efforts against the Rubies/Count while maintaining the Paladinical Oaths moving Velstra/Glitt against Orza/Sunpurse with some Civil War vibes.

Overall just a really big, bold, ambitious push to become a LG Dictator and try to sway the server into more conflict against the Count and his army of Knaves and Rubies, using all the same proactive tricks and tactics and schemes i've use on a Villainous PC but instead as a Paladin holding his oaths and ruthlessly pursuing Evil, [/hide]

It's a long standing tradition that my views on Paladin are they set up very well to be the enemies of EFU as they lay down harsh rulings, stand for convictions, and overall lay a very black and white view on an exceedingly selfish and Grey population of merchants, adventurers, crimmos, cut throats, and more.

But also colossally exhausting as the large majority of it felt like folks just weren't biting what I was throwing down, majority of my time IG was spent puttering around by myself which took its toll.

Shout out to the Lightwardens. Scitus you've been representing everything I've ever wanted to see out of folks and your tenacity is admirable. You've ridden up and down through a mile of shit and it's just been awesome to watch Cona grow as a character. The fact it's only your second PC on EFU boggles the mind and I hope you're able to keep that fire and churn out even more fun and awesome PC factions and pursuits. Sorry we won't get to see things pushed further. RogueKnight props for being the first PC to take a leap on my goofy plans in becoming my first dedicated ally before the Lightwarden Merge, and I'm sorry I got tangled up in trying to move things and Timezones didn't let us drop the attention/etc to get things moving on your end.

And sorry to the Wardens who quit over the merge. I really was hoping it'd be a fun angle for everyone, but I understand it was pretty much Cultureshock.

Shout out to Eq for letting me do some nerd level heroics, props to Lyle and Pigadig for the toolsetting and otherwise.

From Glitt being pretty empty after Permadeath YMD event, to me throwing a wheelbarrow full of nitroglycerine on the world I hope I was able to mix things up and keep folks amused.

The loot, and my favorite little Teaser Moment - His battle cry for Divine Might used to win the Permadeath Duel, was actually the canon IG phrase of Glitt's Paladins.

Just imagine if he'd have hit level 8 once in his career... Hahah.

 ;D

It was fun having some opposition with Percival. I'm pretty sure it was obvious that Ilkav hated Percival (especially when Percival would use Ilkav's own words for the Glitt/Parias agenda). We never came to blows, but it might've been interesting if we did.

Yo, RwG!! I really enjoyed Percy so very much, and Isaiah definitely wanted to help him develop and growth  to be more accepting of others. He also wanted Percy to succeed, because he saw how much evil had filled the Peerage Ward. Really great run, and I will miss Percy!

Here's to taming the Highlands! Cheers!

I enjoyed the few exchanges we had, and I love watching your energy shake the server.   You always try your best to include other people in your plots, even if they don't always bite, and I think that's a fantastic and understated quality of yours.

I want to emphasize this. This is why, even when RWG PCs totally ruin my current PC's day; as a player, I just love what he does.

I think it always helps to remember that we're involved in a collaborative story, and I'm not saying including everyone is the only way to do that. I'm just saying, I think it's cool when that happens.

<3 Got to interact a bit with Percival on both Jasper and now Rhenaios, and it was cool to see his story develop. Well done! Good luck on your next

Truely well played,  if painfully short.

Had some fun interactions with Percy clashing with the differences in their personality. I shall certainly miss him https://imgur.com/yTDf1Av (https://imgur.com/yTDf1Av)
