This is untrue. If a character attacks a chicken, a horde of chickens should appear and run away in random directions.

Agreed! Arabel's caravan system has this, and it adds a lot. Of course, sometimes you just book it back to town, usually at night when they ogres come out to play, but it's still a good plan. More exploration!

I'll have to put myself on the non-Hardcore list for now, if one exists. I absolutely love the big high-risk quests such as Wild Orcs and Vrazdn, but my computer cannot handle the spawns. It freaks out. And while I do not mind my character dying to IC reasons (my first character got messed UP by that amazing Garagosian priestess and I loved every second of it) I absolutely hate losing three days' work to five seconds' lag/glitch. It demoralizes me. I'm very in favor of smaller, goofier DM events. I had one on Arabel where it was only me, a level five rogue pure, in a maze of increasingly difficult monsters and traps. I loved it! It stretched my mind, and had risk without lag. I know that these aren't really time-effective, but it makes a player feel like Chuch Norris to go on a DM event with a DM all to themselves.

Condensation: I'm non-hardcore for OOC reasons. More one-on-one DM interaction is amazing! More puzzles. (that's what I always tell my PvP DM)

Thanks ICHF. Yes LiS, I did die again, due entirely to my-side lag. I did not lose everything though, as I was with my blessed and amazing faction and they saved my rear. No, I'm not perma-ing, just trying to cause this to happen less in the future. I'm afraid my video card has sustained serious damage, and that overheating is no longer the problem. It will run movies, RTS games from early 2000, but will not display large amounts of spawns at one time. Thus, no Wild Orcs, very high risk on Beastmen, generally very hard to do anything at all as a level 5+. *sigh* I may have to spend money...

This server is kind of like the survival mode you find on most shooter flash games. You try and live as long as possible. However, if you can have fun while running for your life, you belong here.

Hardiness v. Poisons is not a good idea.
