Introductions and Group Management / The Myconid Colony

The Colony
"Come-trade. Help-to-Colony."

The recent attack upon the Dhimani Ranch has concluded the first step of Spuffisthin's long-standing goal to free the Myconids. But this is just the beginning; Mycopolis must still be rebuilt. The Keeper Mushroom is still safeguarding an ancient evil. And the Spellguard are now ever-more the predators of the ley, and the enemies of the naturalist myconids.. Who have played a significant role in the raid on Dhimani Ranch.

The Myconid Grove has been greatly expanded, Spuffisthin has ascended to the status of its Elder and now sits at a position of considerable influence over the myconids residing in the region. Much work is still left to be done; the aberrants overpour from the sands of the Lowerdark and into the caverns, the Dread Empire ever-hatches its plots and the Tower continues to desecrate what little remains of the natural world to fuel the metal monstrosity beneath Sanctuary. But the myconids are not alone; and they offer a generous hand to any who would help them fulfill their goals...

While this group is ICly lead by a prominent Primitivist PC, membership within the Covenant of the Pure is not required. Survivalists, oddball explorers and hermits are all welcome to find their nook, as well as of course anyone curious about playing a myconid of any variety. Whether you wish to delve headlong into the fight for freedom of all sentient-kind as a Pactholder PC based off the colony, or just prefer to kill monsters within a close-knit gathering of self-sufficient people, there is a bed and fungal biscuit serving for all.

Minor Association

Recommended Alignment:  Any, with the caveat that the Alignment must be interpreted in a way that would make sense for the character settling within a tribe of mostly pacifist myconids with an indifferent stance towards monster races.
Recommended Race:  Myconid, but any non-aberrant race is acceptable.
Recommended Class:  Any non-Rot Druid, non-Necromantic/Infernalist/Demonologist concept can conceivably work, though hardliner types may find themselves lost for purpose and at odds working alongside potentially monstrous individuals. Classes with survivalist themes/mechanics are highly encouraged.

Some PCs that would conceivably fit this group would be:
- A former Waukeenar finding business opportunity in the movement of goods along the route of the colony to Mycopolis, seeking to establish himself as the controller of all trade once the former city is rebuilt
- A goodly druid finding himself at odds with the apocalyptic ways of the Primitivists, preferring to nurture and protect the myconids at this turning point in their fortunes
- A spawn of Spuffisthin of any variety!
- A myconid survivor of the trials of Mycopolis
- And more! Message Kerl or Derkot on Discord if you are interested in a PC based on the colony.

Since it's the seasonal flavor to post late, out of date obituaries, I may as well post one for my last long-lived PC in a long time.

Taristan Krows was a sort of return to basics PC for me. Originally intended to be little more than a quest crusher against all the evil things outside Sanctuary, he found himself getting entangled with politics at the behest of friends and loved ones at every other turn. Most of his friends would die one by one, the most notable being one Mainanta Notten for whom he was a white knight in many senses of the term. His turn from idealistic zealot into vindicative knight on the edge of damnation was one that would rear its ugly head several times over his active life with many negative consequences; at one point he was addicted to substance, he was maimed during the Witch's Wheel events, he would pick fights with would-be allies against the tyranny of the Spellguard over the murder of his Watcher and Warder friends.. And ultimately his token of esteem for Notten and his keepsake of the Council of Dragons would be stolen from him. Past and present taken away, he finally broke under pressure and saw to his own demise fighting the forces of Traensyr (at level 5, so unfortunately undramatic).

I don't have screenshots, as playing him was becoming a chore and I tend to erase my screenshots regularly nowadays. That said, much of the DM loot he acquired overtime from several sources is still in circulation and in the hands of people to do as they will. Enjoy the power boost fellows!

And it would've been even greater if someone had agreed to be his apprentice, hah!

Old and new, we are still recruiting and fairly active!

Hello.

I recall the previous entry for the Divine Champion PrC highlighting a change to the class, namely that Divine Shield is received at level 3. It may be worth checking with the DMs if the change has persisted or not.

I'm having a hard time willing myself to play once again, and I have a deadline I've sorely neglected coming up. Scarcity or full blown hiatus will be had for the time being.

Your fortunes on the Witch's Wheel are as dire as ever. Passion of Delina indeed. I admit her constant trials made me feel a bit sorry for her behind the screen, even if she wasn't something one would normally feel sorry for.

Another great hag from our resident expert!

Recent interactions with fellow players have lead me to believe it's time to take a short break. I'll be around next Monday or if Krows is needed for something.

Urgh.. I'm sorry it became too much work. Al'Aif was always that beacon of untold plot opportunities waiting to be unveiled, whenever I interacted with him.

Her taste in men's hand-wear was spotless.

Now, to go headbutt a wall for a few hours..

It was nice meeting Tyvalt soon into his life and selling him a set at a "newcomer into this dark world" discount. His gratitude was my first impression of him, and it really sold the PC for me. Well done.

I kind of felt bad about the whole "peer into her soul and condemn her for Nastiness" thing, even if I tried to leave it implied rather than make an outright stereotype statement. >>

Yeesh, I take a short break from EfUing every night and down goes the Bonce..

We hardly ever interacted, but it was still great fun poking fun at the bugman and watching him be his disgusting necromantic insectoid self from a safe distance. A very neat take on the idea of necromancy!

God damn it, you were just getting started!
