I will be running a bit of an impromptu prelude tonight at this time.


The outline of this prelude is as follows:


You are located in a small settlement between the Western Heartlands and the North known as the Emberlands, aptly named so for the fire agate gems that are found in the region. As most of the surface world began falling to the conquering armies of the illithid, your character sought refuge in this remote village.

As the days grew more desperate you were eventually conscripted, willingly or otherwise, into the militia of Lord Vestmer Emberland. The settlement has thus far managed to survive by barricading itself from outsiders and avoiding any large-scale attention from the Dread Empire. How long that will last is uncertain, but the frequency of ambling thralls spotted by your scouts has recently increased.


Classes Allowed: Any standard class.


Alignments Allowed: Any.


Races Allowed: Any standard race. No subraces.

A specific moment that I happen to have captured in a screenshot really sets the mood of the first chapter of EfU for me.


Whilst fighting through the old Chosen Feeding Pit quest, a motley party of three temporary companions found a moment's respite and gazed down into the chasm of the feeding pit, as James Lysik began to retell stories of Sanctuary's past.

Following the events in the Housing Vaults, a thick blanket of mist settled in over Sanctuary and the surrounding regions of the Underdark. While this was no more than a cause for confusion to most, some of Sanctuary's learned scholars and those residents whom could still remember a life on Ymph spoke with dread of the "Accursed Hammer 23rd" as a date of significance before the world's fall.

After swirling and cloying about the caverns for a time the mists seemed to congregate within the Crossroads, with travellers and adventurers bringing back reports of a path opened through the haze by the solitary harbinger Baltaire Magnolian, whom declared himself to be the last disciple of "Rabbanatha the Pure".

Through the veil it is said that impossible visions of a times past were seen, and by some even experienced in full.

Hello dear players!

I am currently overseeing a plot which involves a number of items circulating in the game.

It has proven a bit more difficult than I had anticipated to keep track of everyone in possession of these items whilst juggling my own life and EfU, so this post is for the purpose of prompting anyone who holds a "Broken Branch of Melenyn'dir" to contact me.

This is so I can simply keep track of the items as the plot progresses, as well as answering any IC and OOC queries that may have arisen for you.
