There will never be good-only carebear cities as far as I have 'veto' powers. <_<

Yes. New Dunwarren was my least favourite aspect about EfU. I do not want to repeat that.

Quote from: Porkolt;130487This is ridiculous. You don't wear scabbards and backpacks over your cloak, that makes the cloak useless. It gets trapped beneath the things and you can't wrap it around yourself anymore, which is what it's for in the first place.

Scabbards are worn under the cloak, and backpacks combined with cloaks are an anachronism anyway.

That's my daily dose of history-nazi'ing done, guys.

What's ridiculous is how much pedantry you managed to fit in a post in response to a community member who's trying to improve our server.

With the commencement of the hunting season, a great hunt is held in honour of the murdered Sharboneth retainer Faubert. The hunt is overshadowed by political events, but a giant bear released in the wilds is slain at the gates by a contingent of armsmen.

Hunters from Old Port and beyond are seen arriving at the Ziggurat, ready to pluck Ymph's unique and challenging fauna.

In the horizon of the Docks, a naval battle is seen to unfold. A ship bearing Old Port's flag took chase after a pirate vessel that is thought to belong to the notorious Red Titans led by an Argenti desert man. Soon after the Old Port Destroyer began to fire its explosive ballistas, it was inexplicably silenced. Soon thereafter, the Old Port Destroyer went down in flames.

Two survivors swum to the beaches of the Docks, and rescued by adventurers from the Ziggurat. They then made their way to the Governor's Tower, and were overheard speaking of an inhumanly strong, masked swordsman in ancient armour that jumped across ships and turned the tide of battle.

Quote from: Caster13;129635There are boys named Sue.

Still, if I were to take the obvious interpretation, I have to say I'm impressed and with the DMs making EfUA GLBT friendly.

MY NAME IS SUE, HOW DO YOU DO NOW YOU GONNA DIE.

Maybe reading comprehension is failing me.

So you don't want people, in character, to brag and act like they're bad ass when they're not? Or is this about bragging OOC?

Clearly you shouldn't act bad ass IC and then try and avoid the IC consequences in an OOC manner but otherwise I fail to see the value of the original post.

A bit of a commotion is caused at the crack of dawn as a wagon unloaded a statue of a man named Xisco next to the main gates of the Ziggurat. Armsmen of House Sharboneth rushed to the scene while the man responsible for this deed captivated the crowd and particularly the commons, not so much by his words, but by showering the attendance with gold, said to have come from vanquished slavers and oppressors as a gift from Xisco.

This was not to last, however, as the crowd dispersed at the sight of some dark clad men and the armsmen arrested the crier responsible for the mischief. The statue now lies toppled over.

Rumours spread regarding  attacks on travelling merchants and other persons of wealth in Ymph. Slave owners in particular have been captured and executed in a horrific manner while the slaves have been released and told tales of a bearded man leading the vicious ambushes.

That bearded man is widely believed to be the escaped convict and former pirate Xisco, who orchestrated a violent escape from the Old Port penitentiary some months back, a day before his planned execution.

We will not be doing this because A) the DM's (I'd say we but I don't really do much) have a lot of workload on their hands as it is, and B) because we can't afford to split our playerbase, and most importantly C) because the setting is a continuation of the past setting, which is now unplayable as a permanent PW.

With that said, PC's from EFUA have in the past made their way down to the Underdark, and with enough luck and skill that may be accomplished again in the future.

Quote from: KjetilofNorway;122699Only critical remark I have, I find the discourse concerning this to be rather schizophrenic on EFU;A. As I understand the culture you are cultivating, the ideal player is daring both in terms of RP and mechanical challenges;  ...  as he throws himself into the fray without concern for limbs and/or perma-death. Now, that's a tall order! ...

Ok, to clarify as a DM, while it's cool to see ballsy characters, I also appreciate a well roleplayed coward or a well roleplayed character who does not rely on brute force.

What I do dislike is people who roleplay brave characters/bad asses but are scared of being challenged in the game OOCly, be it via PVP or difficult quests. If you're gonna play a bad ass, do it well. If you're gonna play a coward, do it well.

I don't think this is an issue at any rate as most of our playerbase is pretty cool about this sorta thing.
