Keep in mind that a lot of new games (Left 4 Dead, the new NWN2 expansion etc) have come out recently which will sap a lot of time off people, coupled with that crazy Thanksgiving holiday the good people of America have it could very well lead to a downturn in numbers playing EfU.

Personally I'm not sure moving to a new engine will mean more numbers coming to play!

Paladinflesh Flail

This heavy flail once belonged to Lucien Keeler, a gutsy young Paladin of Lathander hell bent on showing his mentor that he was ready to take the next step up and lead crusades of his own.

Didn't go too well when a seemingly routine expedition into a crypt turned bad, young Lucien being cut down with ease along with the few men he took with him. In a cruel twist his weapon was doctored with the skin of the Paladin, creating a ghastly item to come up against. The enchantments are strange, however, as it retained some of the goodly blessings already bestowed upon it

Heavy Flail:- Red evil glow or the green dripping acid effect.

Off-topic Discussion / Tales Of Moonsea, a NWN2 PW
December 02, 2008, 08:44:35 AM
Greetings EfU:A!

First may I offer my thanks to Howland and the whole of the EfU:A DM team for giving me the chance to post this here, it's very very much appreciated!

I'd like to take a moment to introduce Tales Of Moonsea, a Neverwinter Nights 2 Persistent World module, in the hope that some EfU:A ers will stop by and give it a try and also that some ToM players will stop by EfU:A and do the same!

If you are interesting in chatting to anyone about the server feel free to join the IRC channel #ToM (on the Darkmyst server, the same as EfU's) or jog into the forums found here: http://www.talesofmoonsea.net/forum/index.php

Anyway enough from me, it's introduction time!

"Hail there. You look like you could be of some use. Interested in helping beloved Phlan and earn a bit of coin?" -Phlan's Harbormaster

It's a phrase heard many times in the streets of Phlan. There's no denying it, Phlan is looking for good hands brave enough to carry a sword or weave a potent spell. Phlan needs adventurers to help hold back the tide of this city's undoing and they are willing to pay good coin for it. Are you merit enough to be the city's hero? Do you have what it takes to carve a destiny among the ruined shell of this once great city? From the monster infested remains of Kovel Quarter to the evil presence who's grip on Vahlingen Graveyard holds firm, to the adventurer standing next to you, there are forces out there that are determined to prove you wrong. Win or lose, any path is possible for those with the strength to pursue it in Tales of the Moonsea.

About Tales of Moonsea
ales of the Moonsea (ToM) is a role playing based Persistent World (PW) server using the Neverwinter Nights 2 (NWN2) game engine. Firmly set in the Forgotten Realms, Tales of Moonsea is centered around the ruined city of Phlan as it struggles to rebuild in Realm's year of 1373 Dale Reckoning. It is a chaotic and wild city on the frontier of civilization in the Moonsea. Swathes of the city are still controlled by bands of monsters. As city factions battle for a foothold, the great temple to Tyr, the Waiting, tries to guide the city forward spiritually in it's contention with the burgeoning power of the local priests of Bane. Under all this turmoil, Phlan is still governed by a loose council where politics are rife with secret deals and betrayals as various forces of good or sinister vie for control of the future destiny of Phlan.

Requirements
ToM requires an installed copy of Neverwinter Nights 2 with the Mask of the Betrayer expansion pack. Neverwinter Nights 2 must be updated to the 1.13+hotfix patch. We will be patching to 1.21 very shortly and introducing the new expansion Storm Of Zehir some time after Christmas!

How to Log On
Tales of Moonsea uses the popular a 3rd party program called Worldgate that greatly eases the process of keeping ToM's two necessary files up to date(ToM_Main.pwc and ToM_Custom.hak)1. Follow these simple steps here on how to set up Worldgate, download the hakfile and .pwc file and log in.

More Information
Not convinced? Want to see more information? Have a look at our webpage to get a feel of some of the factions and locations in Phlan. See some imagery from our server in our image gallery section. Check out the new additions we've been adding to the game in our ToM Spotlights or look into the design stories we created to help explain the nature of some of our factions and locations in our ToM Teasers. One of our players, Firkraag, has even created a trailer for Tales of Moonsea!

The Community of ToM
The Community of ToM stays in contact in and out of the game. By visiting the forums, you can stay in touch with the events that are going on in the game and correspond with one another. Real time contact with other players and the DMs while in game or out is best done through ToM's IRC channel. ToM's community is friendly and helpful.

1 Yes. That's all we added to be able to play the game. We've gone through great lengths to make sure that Tales of Moonsea is as minimal of an impact on you as we can while still giving a great experience. No override files are added nor needed to play ToM.
