Messages - The Grinning Hound

Pitra was an incredible character, and you really played the Ashen Mage to it's absolute conceptual limit. It was really, really cool to be a part of her tale. You're so talented, and I can't wait to see what comes next!

Grade A++

Ps: Dalton definitely had a favorite Pitra

Heron, Songlark of the Eastern Wind

Cheers to everyone who interacted with Heron, either directly or indirectly!

He was my very first character on the server, and boy did I choose the fast-paced option. I began his story as a chaotic good bard who would insult everyone he found, as a sort of snarky jester. Then, quickly found himself a part of a merry band of similar Awoken.

As earlier as level 4, we ventured deep into the Rings, discovered the Count and his story, and learned 'the truth' of the City of Rings-- we were hooked, and embraced the outcast life with vigor!

I had SO much fun learning the lore, interacting with a huge variety of characters. We told stories at the Ponds campfires, ventured with friends, created codes and cyphers, worked with a whole hidden network of informants, sat down at knives-out tables with the server's very best antagonists. All while trying desperately to save everyone in the city-- including even those who hunted us down!

It ended up becoming a road that steadily corrupted all of the Sparrows (We numbered at one point around 12 characters, NOT including our hidden agents!).  There were a handful of times when Countsmen outnumbered everyone on the server. So in that regard, I feel super successful in floundering through it all.

Heron was never a leader by choice. When the original Sparrow retired, he stepped into the role and tried his damnedest to push the Drill forward, while sparing the lives of all in front of it, and behind. He attempted deals with enemies, projects to combat the Nothing, efforts to house potential refugees. We liberated the 90th.

One by one, his Sparrows-- faithful til the end-- died while he could not protect them. Some where killed directly in front of him, as a result of betrayal! Others were weened by the Peerage Ward's constant vigilance. Others drifted, aimless and lost outcast from society. In the bittersweet end, he marched once more to the Ward and surrendered himself in a final gesture, so that he might yet save the final few Sparrows that lived.

I want to give special thanks, now:
- To all the Sparrows, you guys were an absolute blast. We each had such individual characters with such individual ambitions, desires, moralities.
- To the hidden operatives-- you know who you are! Hopefully you guys got to see Heron as more vulnerable in the later part of the story. Oddly enough, it was in his confidants that he confided his truest concerns, his failures, his motivations. I truly enjoyed the very human interactions done in the shadows.
- To all the rat bastards who betrayed us! Much love, of course. It was such a blessing to sit at the table with the server's coolest antagonists. We had the best tense meetings.
- Special mentions also to  Adelais, Edolie, Rodarn, Meryl, Rin, Daniel, Roisin, Synia, Naexi, Stranger, Mebril, and Clara-- who all shaped the human behind the rebel. "Chahaha."

Sorry I'm only just now getting to this, but Naexi was an absolute CHARM.

It's hilarious to me that after our first interaction, Heron was so dismissive and against the woman, and by the end she was an important friend! Honestly, well done. This character had TONS of layers, and the exact right amount of comedy as a coping mechanism for her terrible past. Can't say enough kuddos, and excited to see what's next.
