As stated in the subject, Arcane Defense is a feat that I doubt anyone would actually take, furthermore, most of the time GSF is not applied to every spell used, making a specialist spellcaster in certain school just as good as any spellcaster, for many spells. Giving those who have GSF arcane defense feat makes them automatically more 'specialized' in that area, making a lot more sense and rewarding a bit more those who have spent 2 feat slots on a general basis for their field of expertise. :)

Bug Reports / NPCs' rage fizzles
November 10, 2019, 09:33:13 AM
With the new rage system being an instant action, the NPCs who are scripted to activate rage the old way are not raging at all, just wasting a round action. The ones I've noticed were the starving kobold bandit, and sone NPC gladiators.

Suggestions / Peerage citizen prestige
October 25, 2019, 11:36:35 AM
Prestige points seem to be some sort of currency in the Peerage Ward, what makes a lot of sense in a noble decadent place, full of people who live on status. However, currently, only retainers/peers of the noble houses have use for prestige points, whereas independent Peerage citizens/PC factions have no use for them. Think it compared to Ticker square, where independent adventurers/mercenaries, or members of PC factions have the advantage of  the groat flow,  thriving trading and claimable strongholds. I suggest a way that allows a Peerage registered citizen to exchange royal items for prestige points, and a use for such points, be it a shop and/or even claimable strongholds that allow its claiming with use of ridiculously large amount of prestige points to rent it. Obviously such points would be much more valuable in the hands of a retainer, so independent citizen ratings and gear/supply quality not as advantageous.

Right now, members of the Royal Inquisition Courthouse need to pay 10 gp to go back and forth from their stronghold and the main hub. Although it doesn't seem like a lot, it adds up, and just encourages such members to set spawn point elsewhere nearer the main hub, making their stronghold even more forgotten than it already is. I suggest make Cousin Frep + Cousin Jone's dialog with an option for those tagged/wanded for the Courthouse free passage.

The first suggestion here is akin to my previous (and successful, thanks Paha) "Make goblins more goblins and less halflings (link: https://www.efupw.com/forums/index.php?topic=694517.0 ) this follows the same pattern. Kobolds currently inherit two halfling feats, Fearless and Good Aim. The suggestion here is to replace them to:
Good Aim -> Darkvision
Fearless -> Skill focus: Set Trap (Maybe Skill focus: Disable Trap on top of it.)

Also, although I don't think Kobolds need extra nerfing (They are currently the weakest thing one can roll), still make them with Light sensitivity makes total sense. I would balance that with some other bonus however, maybe boost Search and EFUSS Mining.

The second suggestion is related to the access to the city from the Kobold lair. I also think this has been an overlook. Currently if you make a kobold PC right now, your only way to access the game world is through the Peerage, which entails you'll need a DM overlook to get to the first area outside your lair. That happens because the Dorvant's Druthers only gives you access to the Royal Canals if you have a key to 98. Even though if this were by design, it is a bit brutal to have the first area for a lvl 2 kobold be the Mongrel Woods. That said, the most obvious route, which is the Drips has the path blocked by a grate without "squeeze through bars" option. (the first one has the squeeze through bars placeable, the second one a bit further, doesn't, so there is no true access to the drips currently).

It MIGHT be related to something intended ICly as per the recent eclipse. However, even if it is so, I don't think it's working as intended. Also, as a strange side effect, the Glowyeyes seem to fade constantly, making me have to type /c glowyeyes all the time. I have experienced being fully dispelled several times, some I couldn't relate to any action, but others, instantly as I:
- Drank potions of protection from alignment that are not protection from evil. (Neutrality, Chaos)
- Cast Protection from evil from a ring that has this ability 1/day
- Switched equipped items that would give Spellcraft bonuses.

The name of the PC is Voshoon Blackmist, and the GSID is royalbastard.

Thanks

What I am suggesting here boils down to the switching of two goblin feats, that seem just remnants from the base race Halfling, probably an overlook.

- Fearless - On the very contrary, goblins are notorious cowards, and I suggest this feat to be switched to - Resist Disease-, which portrays goblins much better for living in the filth.

- Good Aim - Another halfling trait, should be exchanged for the feat -Darkvision-, which makes much more sense for goblins.

The quest doesn't go into journal and there is no triggering for the end. Also, the mid area of the quest (second one walking from the start), on the way back,  its transitions port us back to the stairs that lead to it, making you go on a loop and never being able to get out without DM help.

Thanks

Bug Reports / Wand of Ward Area won't work
March 04, 2019, 07:23:54 PM
The spell icon is blank, and the spell won't trigger. Mayhaps it has been disabled? Should I trash the wand? Thanks!

Based out of the former Cathedral of Ascension, now the "Basilica of the Rising Tide", formed by remnant of Lower Sanctuary freedom fighting culture who either saw the flood as a spark of hope for freedom and cleansing, the mind of "Can't defeat them/lesser evil", or some heroes to be who want to surf along the rising tide against the evil that took their world. Some of these individuals will not work directly or be guided by the slaver drow or outright wicked men and monster. Some of them might keep the 'having your enemy close' mindset. They still, however, seek to defeat the Dread/aberrant world conquering contenders, and guide/help the Elder one into defeating the Night Serpent, freeing the world from its Nightmare prison. Feeding their own Oozekind with meat and "good vibes", so it may grow strong and benevolent, this sect of the Covenant of the Pure seeks to save/reshape the world without compromisin goodly principles.

"THE TIDE HAS RISEN. THE PURGE BEGINS"
"Dissolve the Chains"
"Drown the Tyrants"
"Rise and Purify"

Recommended Alignment: CG, CN, TN, NG
Recommended Race: Any (non-evil monsters? Not sure if those exist)
Recommended Class: CN Ghaunadaur Clerics and pretty much anything else. Paladin/Druid/Necromancer could be tricky.
Special: Being inducted to this also means joining the Covenant of the Pure faction (no app needed, induction possible by player faction member).
Association hideout: Available

Suggestions / Option for custom enchanted leathers
October 20, 2016, 09:58:35 AM
Now with flooded lower, there are no more options available for custom enchanted leathers. The merchant that makes custom leathers on upper can't enchant them.

Right, I've always loved the concept of the 3.5 Hexblade class (not prestige, full class). Hexmagic felt like something apart from the weave, and it is what I attempted to portray here, a different kind of magic. Incorporating some of the Macumba culture I see here in Brazil with generic Santeria concept mixed with a dead Goddess of Misfortune, I really went TO THE MAX by having him be a pirate! ;)

I had A LOT of fun with this PC, cursed folks almost randomly and was almost FDed several times. Luckily I managed to get a very flavorful end in the hands of an awesome paladin. I also did not have the amount of RL time/energy to spend on him to do all I had planned and had as goals in his app.

Thanks to all who played along the cursing things and were good sport about many times getting semi-perma debuffs and gold spent on removing cursed items... :D

Blackbess' love's Hard love!

Ugh, I can't seem to be able to post the screenies right now, I'll do it later.

Cheers, EFU!

EXCLUSIVE! Big foot caught on camera:

Allegedly very fond and protective of a large pile of jewelry, gemstones, metal, ores and bones, his "Treasure Trove"

ABBAORO KWEROGO ZUFBORO  Came from a monster pirate Ship called "The Tarrasque", where many crossbreeds of monsters were made, mainly using goblins, orcs and ogres. The ship used to terrorize the waters of the Dragon Coast. Somehow surviving the Darkening, "The Zufboro" then finds the Underdark Lower Caves very fitting for his new "monster cave lair", and clings to the lord of Caves, "Dungeon Master Ibrandul"

And  the Raids Begin

And THE  last Raid

Thanks to all involved!

I have only done this once, and the quest item in which the PC is supposed to retrieve to Mop did not spawn. In the place where it should be, there was gold instead.

Bug Reports / Rogue Dirty Fighter Perk doesn't work
March 17, 2015, 10:29:11 PM
Yeah. I tried it in a couple of PCs already. It simply doesn't add the feat that it's supposed to add. No matter how many times you rest, reset perk, relog, walk transition and even a reset did not do it.

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Drex Besaven
March 09, 2015, 02:22:29 AM
I made Drex because I felt that I have played a lot of evil PCs, but never really felt evil. So, an out there bad guy, with a collection of professions, not limited to murderer, gambler, cheater, butcher and voodoo guy. This time around I did feel what it playing that 'evil' was not only in the Character sheet or in some distant past. The background is just the old cliche of half-breed who never got love from either side, but this time it happened on a psychopath troublemaker, who put all stacks on chance and risk, and fed the hatred for humans and elves the much he could.

His main game was just dice street craps, adapted to the setting with appropriate names for the rolls.

Of course I had much higher plans for him, as in collecting hair locks and stuff like that of people to make santeria to make them suffer being one of them. Being open for all kinds of trouble has lead him to many different paths, and ultimately to his death of course. I had a lot of fun, and thanks to all involved! Screenshots!

[hide=Character sheet. He was 8 once, but mostly stayed at 7, which in the end I embraced it, since it's his lucky number][/hide]

[hide=Another of my plans for him, to cause gang brawls in lower, didn't happen, but someone should try that][/hide]

[hide=He never really considered himself lucky, so, not expecting to win gave him a life with no frustration][/hide]

[hide=Hosting games that merely attending was already taking risks][/hide]

[hide=He did not gamble only for gold...][/hide]

[hide=This one is only here so this post has 11 screen shots...][/hide]

[hide=He loved his good brawls too ][/hide]

[hide=Always in good company][/hide]

[hide=Being in a cell was normal for him, but sharing it with a Prefect was something else!][/hide]

[hide=and he'd waste no chance to roll the dice another day][/hide]

[hide=But his last had to come in a game!][/hide]

See you very soon!

Bug Reports / Red Smile fungus doesn't work in Shaggaland
February 27, 2015, 05:43:19 PM
[FONT="Impact"]PC: Drex Besaven

Upon using this narcotic in Shaggaland, the stats that it gives are wiped out instantly, as if they were magic. But they are not, since it's a drug.

Thanks.

Suggestions / Spawn Point in Southeastern Outskirts
February 25, 2015, 03:28:03 AM
The small area that is limited by a transition to Lower proper and Alleywalls that go to the Outskirts proper, there is a small sort of settling, two priests, two NPCs, some sort of crude camp/bedroll, I'm not asking/suggesting to make it a regular resting area, but a Spawn point for PCs who were invited by  Berressa to "stick around" could be put there. Thanks.
