In the far, distant realm of Sembia, within the gilded streets of Selguant, a crime family known as the Bataevs lived and reigned. There was the patriarch, and his four sons and two daughters. The eldest was the heir apparent, who often scorned his responsibilities, and cared only for his music, his art, his poetry. He ran the streets of Selguant as a pompadour, but quick to temper, and dismissive of most. 'Why would I kneel', he often thought, 'when I am the king of this city?' Disrespectful to his father, commanding and domineering of his siblings, this heir was truly a nuisance...

Until one day, he awoke in the City of Rings. Dressed in his finest silks, wearing heirlooms of gold and silver, passed down to his family for generations, he had little else to his name... But opportunity, he thought, can be found anywhere... Especially with a bit of luck. The Spinning Groat he would call home for over a decade. He gambled, he drank, he wined, he whored. He would often win, but in the Groat, red always overcomes the weak willed.. Gambled away were his heirlooms. Gambled away were his fine clothes, silks... Gambled away were all of his belongings. Until he had nothing left to give but his life in service. Visangiri Bataev kneeled... for a power he would never overcome.

Early days.
[/hide]

The early days of Visangiri Bataev were a bit awkward. Mostly, it dealt with trying to establish myself as a merchant and treasure seeker, while failing horribly. I wanted to be a guy that everyone knew and liked, who was extremely approachable about anything. Rather than trying to infiltrate a specific house, I wanted to just acquire information from everyone, and see who was loyal to the Count. I never really got anywhere with it though. Most people were extremely exclusive with their plots and schemes, and I really couldn't finagle my way into anyone's inner talks. But that's fine, some times that's the way it goes.
[hide]

[/hide]

Word would finally reach Bataev that he was being called upon. This was my introduction to the Knaves, right outside House Moonspear as I was on my way to talk to them about some deal I was orchestrating. I prayed that no one would casually walk out and see me talking to the knave, and luckily, my identity was secret. For now.
[hide]

[/hide]

Bataev was alone often. To really start breaking the ice, and being the face of the knaves, I called upon a gambling night at the Drill. The overall idea was to make people believe that the Count could be trusted, and that he was aiming to actually improve people's lives. To do this, on the night of the Drill's reopening, I gave everyone favors. I had a whole list, some I completed, some were too convoluted for me to try. But I enjoyed getting them, and it really did give people agency to try and accomplish things they would want done. If I never completed your request, it wasn't because I was ignoring it; some were merely too difficult without a DM supervising, and I was often busy doing other things.

Organizing and giving direction to the Redjacks was very fun. I enjoyed their presence, and they were rampant with doing whatever they wanted. But always, they had a kind respect for the mask, and often yielded to authority. Maybe a bit too reliant on my direction, but overall, they were a good assortment of Redjacks, and did me proud. To the players of both Pointdexters, Guiseppe, and Harh, well done. You really did a good job of acting as militia men, and I couldn't have asked for a better support role for the time we shared together.

This was an event after Hysear died. The beginning of my relationship with the Bonecollectors. They did a really cool ritual and brought him back as a monstrosity to wreck havoc, and I was given control of it. Everything the stillborn monster did, it was under my direction. Props to Skaghunter for running this event, and a big thanks for the players of Yict, Azeblebaal(Sorry sp), Agares Weyer, and more. This was really fun, and I enjoyed every moment of it.

Not too long after these events, Visangiri was defeated after his own botched attempt of an ambush, and was given a chance to duel for his freedom against Glitt retainer, Tristam Veers. It was a long, bloody battle, with Inquisitor Malik Adayla of House Moonspear presiding over it, and Visangiri's eventual murderer, Ruby-Captain Vsaja Sumari, enjoying his knave's duel. But in the end, a foolish step saw me dispelled, and beaten into the dirt, defeated. In a moment of true honor for his opponent, Tristam spared Visangiri, a debt he would never get to repay. To the player of Tristam Veers; thank you for sparing me. It was a great fight, and I'm glad you enjoyed it too.

After he was unmasked, and his plots revealed, the start of his relationship with Lissandra Fier really began. Visangiri had been working to slowly infiltrate House Moonspear for weeks, and unveiled to House Moonspear, it all came apart. But she persisted in questioning why Visangiri would do such things. Why he would work for the Count. Why he must serve. There was constant back and forth, days and days of us chatting, her questioning my cruelty, and trying to make him a better man. Something Visangiri would never accomplish.

Not too long ago, the Reeve struck against the Count. He captured one of his rubies, Saraid Caermyn, and killed the man in a cruel way, skinning him alive, and leaving his bones to rot within the commons. Visangiri retrieved these bones, and presented it to his Count. The Lottery... The Lottery was called.
[hide]

[/hide]

Visangiri did the one thing no one else could. He broke a woman of the Renounciation. Made her break her vows of renouncing emotions. Made her cry, weep, and plead, so she may take on the burden of sacrificing herself to the Count, and spare others the suffering of the Lottery. A plot that would eventually cost Visangiri, and his blooming love. Instead of her, the Count chose his beloved, Lissandra, and made Visangiri kill her in a show of loyalty. This is where his defiance begins. To the player of Vivian, thank you for the show. I was actually a little bit torn up about it OOCly, as I drove your PC to tears. It's not an easy burden, to portray those kinds of emotions, but you did well, and I enjoyed your performance. Thank you.

[hide]

[/hide]

Knowing the power of the Bonecollectors, and their master now returned to flesh, Visangiri did something any desperate man would do. He brought her corpse, still warm, to the Bonecollectors, and prayed to see her returned to live. The cost was high. It actually ripped a piece of Visagiri's soul out of him, weakening him permanently, and transfering it to his wife, Lissandra Bataev, now wedded, in life, and in death.  Thank you again to the players of Yict, Agares, and all of House Montegelas. It was a real treat playing with you, although briefly.

With his wife returned, Visangiri often questioned his loyalty. What is a man that goes against his Count? Is he still loyal? Does he seek to betray him? These questions, I asked myself all the time. What did I really want as a player from this point on? Really, I wanted to enjoy the ride. After his wife's return, Visangiri was really dismissive about what the Count wanted. Who wouldn't be? He did make him kill his wife, and Visangiri knew that he would never rekindle the spark of life and laughter his wife used to have. He was.. broken, at this point.

So he does something desperate.
[hide]

[/hide]

In a final act of rebellion, he chanced upon a small little hope. He thought he would bring joy to his wife, if he saw a baby unpetrified, and given to her. Together, they went to the Bazaar, and together, they unleashed it. What they got, however, was a wish from a trapped djinn. Unable to contain it, and a chance gifted, he wished for his wife to be human again. Unable to contain it, he announced his disloyalty, like a fool, to the whole city.

Like a fool, he went to the Ward, and suffered for his consequences. He would not remember the joys of his ilfe, in his final moments. He was mindbroken by the Grand Vizier for his actions, and he slaughtered his wife, then himself, as commanded by his master.

Love never wins... But it doesn't hurt to try.  To the player of Lissandra Bataev, thank you. You really changed the course of my PC, and made a much more fulfilling story than I probably could have done on my own. Sorry you were stuck so long in the Bonecollectors, only to be killed the day of your ressurection. But, that's the way it goes. I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did, and maybe we'll try it again in the future.

Some final random images. Maybe some loot.

Having done this quest today, this was actually a huge trap.

I received, literally, several pieces of items that didn't do anything for my party, and are way below any sort of quality.  A single bulls. A single blur. And a single shield vial.

The loot is terrible.

XP, at level 7,  small[redacted]. For a 9 cap quest, that has a boss with [redacted].

Gold was fine. [redacted].

The mobs in the quests are too difficult for this type of reward. It needs an entire revamp of scaling, compared to other 9 cap quests.

(Please don't post complete details for quests. =] )

hi

im stpid

see i cant even spell stupid right

im making a band of mercenaries

alignments preferred is everything but evil, but if you convince me IG that you're a good guy but your character sheet reads evil that's ok

the goal is to be a ringrunning type band that doesn't focus on getting to the king but more about getting to half way (like ba'zeel) and adding a new dynamic to ringrunning with our band

this dynamic is mostly going to be offering a PC challenge to players who are heading to the king by giving them tests, determining their fealty to the king, and some other stuff that'll be developed later on

if you don't want this aspect of being a mercenary, there is still the chance to merely join the company and offer your services under the banner, which is cool with me

i mostly want something that's kinda funny and kinda serious at the same time, because im not intending on playing a lot with this pc, but i think having a mercenary band for people to join (like ticker did in the old days) is pretty cool and i want that back because having a neutral party people can work with, hire on for PVM content, or other cool mercenary shenanigans is fun and i think most people think so too

if this interests you find me Lumeriot Syr'maran IG or just annoy the shit out of me on discord

this is a really low effort post because i can't be assed to type out a whole thing, but i will say that it could be very fun if a lot of people join in on it

so if you want to ringrun with a new twist on it, or just want an idiot to play with, hit me up smile wink smile

ok thanks

Suggestions / Dual wield and other suggestions...
January 23, 2021, 11:25:02 PM
Since we are constantly molding and changing things on EFU, a few suggestions that may improve the livelihood of a rather underappreciated class: The Ranger.

The Ranger, as it currently stands, is a hard 6 cap class, and typically multiclasses into other classes for more benefits with little to no downsides. The Ranger Perks are overall good, but it truly removes the point to go further beyond 6; level 9 is nice for a pure ranger, but it only focuses on a very specific dual wield build for the most part, getting ITWF and an additional +1 ab vs FEs.

I've a couple ideas to remedy this.

First, 3.5 E of Dungeons and Dragons includes chain shirts into light armor, giving rogues accessibility to 4/4 armor. This doesn't really help rangers specifically, but I think it'd be an overall QoL improvement for the class. More strength rogues, diverse builds, etc ,would be available, as well as allow a wizard or sorcerer to invest for chain shirts with the sacrifice of only a single feat.

Secondly, 3.5E also includes banded mail into medium armor, allowing most classes to wear 6/3, though in EFU it'd be 6/1. I think this would be a healthy addition to four classes; the ranger, the barbarian, the bard, and the druid. It makes them have less of an investment on dexterity, and it allows them to utilize an armor that is heavily avoided and ignored.

Third, the dual wield feat for rangers should be altered to include medium armor. There's little reason for it to not to, and the benefits for a ranger would help them out a bit more. Strength rangers, for example, could actually dual wield without being as heavily penalized for their ac, since at best they can wear a studded and dual wield, suffering from AC shortages, or peculiar ability point splits.

Fourth, the Favored Enemy system should be reworked to not have a wide variety of choices, but a very simple grouping. Dragons, elementals, and outsiders, for example, could be tethered in a single FE feat, or all subraces in another. However, there is two downsides to this. One, you can only select two FEs from this point on. At creation, and at level 8. AB bonuses for their FEs are lost if they multiclass, but they still retain the damage and skill bonuses versus FEs. Two, the perks that are acquired from the class are also lost on multiclassing. But, on the plus side, pure rangers are heavily rewarded for remaining pure- they acquire heavily stylized perks that reflect their favored enemy, and makes them a bit equal to a multiclass or other pure class.

For example, if I were to take the 'I hate PCs' (Let's be honest, it'll be the most picked one, because everyone expects PVP once in their character's life time) favored enemy, I would acquire the ability to collect ears off of fallen PCs (not killed, just subdued), the ability to examine mark, set and disable trap bonuses, and spot and listen bonuses.  They also acquire above average traps a reset; (deadly snares, no damage traps), and an additional bonus damage vs their FE group.

A ranger with the planar hunting focus, on the other hand, has the plethora of elementals, dragons, outsiders, abberation, and fey. They receive bonuses to will, an increase to their spellcraft, protection from all outsiders (like the FE outsider perk currently does), immunity to fear, some elemental resistances, and a 1/day ability to use the flame weapon ability, similar to the fighter dual wield perk.

This is only just a few suggestions, but as you can see, the combination of these grouping of FEs could be extremely powerful. I would, as an off hand note, mention that gold dwarfs should lose their FE: Aberration feat, to prevent 'triple dipping' in the FE bonus pool. But, these things can help create a more pronounced identity for the ranger class overall, and show how a ranger is the exemplar of being a master huntsman of his favored enemies.

Personally, I'm a bit tired of hearing of ranger/x builds, because most of the time, it's done for free ab bonuses, and no one really portrays their hatred to humans. Ever.

So some times a shift in the dynamic of the server is necessary to change certain attitudes and hopefully breathe some life into a class that horribly needs it.

Or you could ignore my suggestion and let people be ranger/x memers forever ha ha ha ha.

Introductions and Group Management / The Half Step Tavern
November 26, 2020, 03:44:10 PM
Hello.

If you ever wanted to do something casual, with little purpose or just aimlessly gameplay, this might be something players could be interested in. I'm playing Kapise Deraque, a halfling bard that's wanting to earn the tavern upon the Docks. Why? Well, he's got a dream to be a famous chef one day. He wants to make groat to support his family, well over thirty sisters, his father and mother, and far too many cousins and uncles to count. He's also got his cousin, Frogrin 'Froggy' Deraque, a noble oathsworn, to aid him in his task.

So, what's to expect from this group?

A lot of dumb jokes, mostly. I'm tired of doing the hardcore grind; I wanted something casual to play after my day of work, and this suits me nicely. You can also expect ringrunning, maybe a bit of exploration and lore hunting, and a lot of social role play (since we'll be operating within a tavern once acquired).

What am i looking for? Honestly, just players. You don't have to be a halfling. You could be a big dumb half-orc, for all i care. Just as long as you're having fun. It could be something that suits the social aspect of working in a tavern too. You want to be a waitress? Sure, go ahead. A playwright? I don't mind it. You want to be a bouncer? Sure.

There are two  limitations. No evil aligned PCs. The reasoning being that we'll spot you immediately, and you'll be bummed, and we'll be bummed, and my heart will break as I quietly reject you in character and make up some reason as to why you can't work for us.

The second is play times. My play times are awkward. Some days I have from 5am cst to 8pm cst, some days I have only from 1pm to 8pm cst. So it's basically a european play time, except I'm american and I work terrible hours. Anyway, if you want to play with me and my buddy, hit me up on discord if you want to work on some ideas/ concepts for it.

That's all for now bye.

Bug Reports / High Sharktooth Lanohua Quest Dialogue..
November 01, 2020, 09:04:33 PM
Hello its wundy. I'm playing Orsiano Tagliatelli, and we (my quest group at the time) was trying to do this NPCs quest. We didnt have everyone together, though, and there was a delay between us meeting up again.

Regardless, when we tried to add the people who weren't on the quest to the quest, the NPC doesn't have the dialogue option to add more PCs to the quest. There is only two options, to say 'Yes', in response to the continuation of the quest, and the second option, 'We wished to abandon this quest.' There's no other selection available, and the person who had the quest token had logged for the time being.

It'd be cool to have the dialogue option fixed, for future scenarios where people needed to be added to this quest, thanks.

Suggestions / The Hero System needs a rehaul please
September 18, 2020, 07:18:03 PM
So, like, yeah I'm back and whatever.

I killed a hero on my returning PC, and the loot I received was kind of whatever. An OUB fighter ring (which is amazing, and extremely rare..), a half plate, and the adventurer's iron cap. Two of these items are pretty cool, and I like them, but I do have an issue with a half plate being dropped. Specifically, the stalker's half plate. Hide and move silently, tumble, and some other bonus on it. It's mostly, uh, trash. No one wears it, or if they do, it's not for long.

And there's a lot of items like this. Set items. Below average use items, forgettable cloaks, rings, tower shields, the list goes on. And its' quite bloated. Like, extremely bloated. They're also rehashed from previous settings, and they're not really changing.

Anyway this is just my opinion and I'd be down if DMs worked casually on reworking the system. I know it'd be a tedious project, and not one that'd be done any time soon.

Bug Reports / Phantoms of Deception
June 27, 2020, 04:20:11 PM
The current implementation of this spell causes you to hostile random NPCs after utilizing it, as well as the displacements hostiling you and some times not even doing anything.

I think what should be considered is the removal of the darkness part of the spell.

While the darkness is nice, I believe that it does nothing to the overall contribution of the spell. I believe the invisibility is enough for anyone to utilize it as an escape. It also, currently, breaks the invisibility part anyway, and if I had to choose one over the other, I'd definitely want the invisibility

Bug Reports / Door key not working

I bought a key in the Burgage for a place to rent for four hundred. The room number was 15. The key I have purchased doesn't work on any door in any of the hallways in the renting area. I'd like for this to be fixed, thanks.

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Forty Groat Godfrey
June 20, 2020, 10:32:21 PM
Well this PC was OK.
[Hide= Forty Groat Godfrey Matthws]

[/hide]

Godfrey was my attempt at divine champion of the Nine Faced God. It was a kind of take and give thing with the whole faith aspect, mostly because I was trying to roleplay Godfrey as ignorant to what he was doing and knowing nothing of the Nine Faced God. Essentially, though, his backstory was relatively simple.

He claimed to be an awoken, but, in reality, he was actually a farmer in some backwater alley of the 99th that lived with cultists of the Nine Faced God. These men believed in the heresy of the 10th, and wanted to make Godfrey a man that was dictated by fate itself to lead to its creation.

To do this, Godfrey had to channel the actual divinity of the Nine Faced God, so what would happen is he would have dreams of a number (that I would roll randomly IG), and he would have a 'triumph', like a herculean effort, to complete. So one of them was to explore nine seams, and mark them with the face of the 5th. Another, the mark of the 9th, was to spend ten thousand gold and let probability and chance determine what would happen in the wheel of fire. So on, so forth.

Once they completed their ritual, they knocked him out by sapping him, and dragged him to the 100th. He would wake up, with blood running down his head, and twenty five numerical 'One's marked on his back.  A part of his trial was that he couldn't leave the 99th ring for long, either or he would suffer immense pain, because the idea was that it was him 'stepping out of his fate'- break the threads too long, and even your own soul will be torn asunder. So he was real averse to ringrunning and stuff.

So what does he do? Joins the Sons of Conquest- he doesn't know anything about how he got to the ring, and feels like an awoken. So he wanted to work simple, and make easy money.

How'd he do that? Forty groats. Forty groat for mostly any job. Got a message needed to get passed? Done. Do some adventure? Sure, forty. So that's how he earned the nickname, by asking everyone 'Hey, I'll do it for Forty'.

He was alright, in the Sons. He liked Meatklyff a bit, and got a lot of extra stipend from him, for coming up with a really basic idea. Things were okay, as he travelled a lot exploring the rings...
[hide=Godfrey's a crazy man...]

[/hide]

(There's more of those pictures, but they're repeats that I've posted in my public thread- not going to repost...)

Then, taking one wrong contract, and leading to some dirty business, Godfrey got kicked out of the Square. Banned, for being a mercenary, and working for merely forty groats. I never said Godfrey was a wise man, so he tried to kill the person that banned him. He failed, but was spared, and instead, just said screw the square. He left, and became a man in the Peerage. A mercenary, looking for a way to live...

[hide=Godfrey in his silly gold armor....]

[/hide]

He often cursed his luck. But he had a lot of friends, real good ones too. One of his favorite was Hortigen Lorch, a big, bulbous mage that eventually awakened his inner power, and his eyes would glow blue forever more. Together, they decided to call themselves the Forty Groaters, men who would work for forty groats, any job. Another person, who he always called Stiletto, joined in, and so there was three of them, a mercenary band in the Peerage, working hard and doing jobs.

Godfrey fought in a lot of dispensaries, and Meatklyff and Godfrey seemed to have a rivalry of sorts going on- if there was though, Godfrey was mostly unaware, and was having fun. The captain even invited him to help defend a camp of indentured servants of Tchammorar...
[hide= Godfrey hates his job some times...]

[/hide]

The last few days of his life, Godfrey felt something was wrong- he'd heard rumors that his best friend Lorch was missing, and, after taking in a serious amount of planar energy at a dispensary gone wrong, mostly stuck in the Spinning Gorat, feeling like he was wasting away.

Finally, he was invited to aid in Ticker's defense, a final time. Godfrey figured he could survive the job, but, he vastly underestimated the threat of the Torc. Storming into the resting place of the queen bug, he was skewed down by the elite calvarymen, dying, and failing his supposed destined fate...

Anyway, here's his loot. And that's all for Godfrey Forty Groat Matthews...

Bug Reports / White Stag Beetle
June 12, 2020, 07:50:26 PM
I killed a White Stag Beetle, and it didn't drop anything. Considering the rare spawn rate of these things, maybe they should have a 100% chance to drop their horn? I know those are extremely valuable for some PCs.

Proof of kill.
#12
I'm not sure if this is the case or not (because it's not documented), but I think a few PRCs should count to crafting.

Namely, palemasters / rdd for alchemy, harper scout / assassin for tinkering, and shifter for herbalism. Just an idea I had thought about while working on my next concept.

Thanks

It's my birthday today. And one of my most favorite characters to RP has died. So here's his story.

Raph Mede was originally intended to be a cultist of shadows, a person who would live in the Peerage and slowly convince people work for him, conspire murder plots, and engage in plenty of intrigue. That was on 12/28/2019.

As you can see, this is an older PC that I've had a lot of back and forth on. Mostly, I couldn't find the right identity, and the Peerage was mostly dead every time I'd log in. So I threw him on the back burner and figured, 'Eh, grind it out every now and then.' Turns out, you can make a lot of gold doing lowbies. I think I died on a quest about a week in, and quit out of frustration. Two months ago, gave him another shot, and realized I had about 4500 gold in his purse.
[hide=The early days...]
[/hide]

This is when Mede started merchanting, deciding that maybe honor and prestige isn't enough for him. Some times, you can find a better living making a lot of groat. He met a certain rogue figure, who'd he consider his first friend, Geoffery Manse..
[hide= Best friend, only friend...]
[/hide]

Mede was also present when the Orzans and Groatcloaks first marched conjoined together in Ticker Square. As you can see detailed here, Mede was quite the coward in his early days...
[hide= Please spare me]

[/hide]

Merchanting wasn't something I ever thought I'd like. In fact, it was painful, carrying around two to three hundred pounds on a 10 strength sorcerer. I don't know what, but it just kind of clicked with me on Mede. I enjoyed it, but I couldn't stand doing nothing BUT merchanting. It made me lose a lot of motivation on this character, and to anyone who was engaged with him in any conflict around this period, I am really sorry for bailing. I just couldn't find motiviation to just sit in the Square and do nothing.

For the next few months, Mede would log on for a brief time, while I tried to figure out what to do with the character, but I couldn't give him a clear mindset. At this point, I'd made well over forty thousand gold. Ten thousand on wand crafting, ten thousand on a particular set of robes, and another ten thousand gambling, with random expenses in between. So after I had died on my irrelevant Orzan whose name I can't remember, I figured 'Let's get real this time with this bastard.' And that's how we get to the Mede we know today.

So, in the midst of Mede's on and off cycle, there was a plot that dealt with particular shards. Mede had taken one, and figured nothing would come of it. But once I returned on this PC, an auction formed, and the shards were being sold... So Mede took his chance for infamy; to buy all the shards. And he did. He bought them all, and struck a bargain with Ib'javi. Interrupted by a band of adventurers, he desired all their gold along with more, for a sum of ten thousand for his shards. He knew that another shard had slipped his grasp, and hired Vesh and Brigs to find Ashervan the Thief, an elf that argued he could get far more for his shard than what I offered him.

That elf paid for it with his life, because as we all know now, Brigs and Vesh Mock were Tchunites. Mede had made friends with them, somewhat aware of their identity, as he had sold a Tchunite amulet to Vesh. Things were good...

[hide=The boys..]

[/hide]

And it seemed Mede would only continue to go up, in his height of infamy and power.
[hide=The deal]

[/hide]

Mede at this point became full infernalist. I didn't expect devils to be strong, but they worked, and it was fun to make them say ridiculous things while questing.

Bug Reports / Wand Bug
March 29, 2020, 01:01:55 AM
Hi I play Aude de Verlay. I found a Mestil's Acid Breath wand on a hero mob, and thought that was cool.

I used the wand, passed the UMD check, and the effect plays, but no wand charges are lost and no damage is done.

I am very sad now. Please fix this :(

Bug Reports / Good Turn Undead
January 30, 2020, 12:23:27 AM
Hi its wundy.  I play gaelyn visoras, a cleric with good domain.

The turn undead ability "Call to the Righteous" states that there is an 80% chance for it to affect good, 50% to affect neutrals, and 0% chance to affect evil.

Unfortunately it still affects evil aligned monsters and PCs ( I'm guessing on PCs, I'm not sure on alignment ). It has affected things like undead, imps, devils, lizardfolk, and more repeatedly.

I am assuming this is unintentionally occurring, and would like to see it fixed. Thanks!

Suggestions / Wizard Suggestions
December 04, 2019, 12:31:58 AM
As I am currently playing a wizard, I've been considering a few suggestions for them...

Seam sickness prevention items are 'too strong'. For only three hundred gold, I can buy an item with level 1 slot and 500 seam point absorption. If I cast, at level 8, I'll use only about 200 points.

My suggestion is that as you level up beyond 5, the seam sickness points increases tremendously, in accordance with increased wizard power.  I'm currently using a book with 1000 points that can be absorbed- I'd like to actually hit that cap. Alongside this, more seam absorption items that drop in higher level quests, that increase spell slots would be nice. There's hardly any 2/3 level slots for wizards outside of the very rare hero loot.

Secondly, if there was a means to script seams being torn open near your wizard because  you don't have these stronger items, that would be interesting to see. If wizards are meant to be the 'nefarious people' the regular man sees them to be, then there should be more representation of this IG. The other idea I had was that wizards can open these seams themselves, and work like the current implementation of the recent additions in game.

Bug Reports / Journal Bug
December 03, 2019, 08:11:24 PM
Hello I play Geromino Zaradakash.

I have a lot of IC journals on my character. I had fifteen total descriptions, in fact. Ten of them are now gone.

I am very sad.

Please help my writing disorder so that I do not lose these journal entries in the future.

I believe I lost the descriptions in the journal after I took them out of the writing tablet and a reset went by. I am also scared to test this further, because I have five current descriptions in my book that is in my writing tablet right now.

Hi its wundy and I have a few considerations for Animal Empathy.

As it currently stands, the system is usually used for AE'ing powerful animals and using them to explore the setting / server by yourself. It's harder to justify to bring your companion on a quest because usually they spike up the content in quests exponentially (Like necromancers' undead and summons tend to do). The issue, however, is the strength of most animals. Some animals are indeed powerful, but most are probably going to die very quickly in a quest, even with spells.  Even with the most careful micromanagement it is supremely hard to utilize these pets in quests.

So I just have a few considerations for them and their current implementation.

-You don't have to wait for resets for animal companions to return- they come back after a rest. I'm unsure why this was implemented, but it generally just makes it not fun to even bother with a pet.

-Acquiring new animals is now reliant on your invested Animal Empathy skill, instead of overall level. It's a bit disappointing to hit 6 as a pure ranger and try and tame a decent pet. Most animals require higher levels, and the animals you can tame aren't that worthwhile to even bother taming.  So at level 6, with a hard skill of 9, you can tame stronger beasts like Dumpster Bears or Grizzled Wolves. At 8/9, you can tame the strongest versions of the beasts, like Silverback wolves (or whatever they're called) and Ancient dire bears with a hard skill of 11/12. This is to prevent people from using AE gear to cheat out on the AE checks of normal taming / dominating. Or just lower the level required for taming animals (the easier solution, but able to be utilized by multi-classed rangers...)

-A potential system to improve animal companions similar to the necromancy system. As it is right now, the animal companion system is a bit lacking. However, with high animal empathy and lore, you can improve your pet to have higher AB, AC, HP, or movespeed, just as the necromancy system does.

-Duration of animal emapthy increases with current animal emapthy skill (unsure if this is implemented or not already, need to test more..)

These are some massive changes, but with druids nearly being KOS, and rangers almost always being multiclassed now, I think it'd be a cool way to spice up their companions and give them a slightly better edge than what they currently have.

hi its wundy and my boy Laster is dead

Laster was my attempt to get back into the swing of things on EFU. I only knew two things about this PC when I was rolling him- that he had amnesia,  and that he was going to be in Sunpurse.

Couple of days in, and Laster was in House Sunpurse and I was having a blast. The Tournament of the Banner was in a few weeks, so I had to recruit and build a stern reputation for myself and the retainers that would follow his lead. I spent countless hours interacting with potential power players in the tournament, names such as Fester Mortwick, or Vinzi Dredger. I struck so many deals and bargains with people to assure that House Sunpurse would win, and it all came to fruition wonderfully.

Sargon was killed by an idea I implanted in Fester and Dredger. I gave all the other retainers supplies and resources to succeed in the tournament. While I would like to claim the Tehoto alliance as my idea, that would go to Stranger instead. All these ideas combined together in a culminated effort to see House Sunpurse achieve victory over the entire 99th, and damn, did it work well. I hadn't counted on Saston Highsworn giving us the victory from the archery tournament, but a point is a point. I don't think anyone saw that one coming.

After we got victory, Laster had set his mind on a few new points. One, to build the Council of Peers once more, but under a new direction that he could utilize for his House's ambitions. Two, to try and court Lady Glitt for multiple reasons. Trying to become a noble was the end goal for Laster, and he was trying his damnedest to do so. He didn't want to fight at all, or kill people. Sure, he had feuds with several people, but he only pursued them out of duty or obligation for his House. If he did not, Laster believed he would lose prestige in the eyes of the Ward, and worse, his House.  His many spats with the Ponds People was due to necessity and appearance- After all, he had no reason to kill these people... Only show that he was working for his Lady and duty for his House.

Inevitably, though, his conflict with the Ponds people would wind up being his demise. After a final confrontation, he met his end at the hands of people he had feuded with for so long. Drowned in the depths as Lord Desmond Sunpurse was, he met his untimely end before he could achieve his final goals...

And that's all for Retainer Laster Jorsen. See you guys on the next. Sorry for no pics, but as always, I've been bad about taking them. I mostly have a lot of dialogue pictures, but I don't think they really help show what Laster did in most of his interactions. Anyway, bye!!!
