Bug Reports / Purple Crystal Quest
July 24, 2014, 04:03:26 AM
The server just crashed, but if its the same version that was just up before... Then the entrance into this quest stopped functioning. Someone moved the entrance and the quest tab--but the entrance itself was the issue. You would walk around it like you couldn't track well and then make a grabby motion achieving nothing.

General Discussion / New Forum Questions
June 30, 2014, 05:29:19 AM
I realize this is premature, but can we expect any period of time where both this forum and the one following it will be active? It would be far easier to move information over then attempt to store it anywhere temporarily. Even if we were doing it manually.

Additionally I weep for the potential loss of our history T_T

Bug Reports / Serena Tower Bell
June 02, 2014, 01:09:54 AM
I've been informed a few issues. First when you touch the bell there is no ding nothing. Just silence. That might be intentional; so the following is the bug. When you touch the bell again is says the bell does not respond. Yet... It sends another ding message regardless. Allowing someone to click many times in an vain attempt to get a positive the bell responds message, all the while spamming the messages and have no idea.

Suggestions / Watcher Calls
May 25, 2014, 03:49:43 AM
Currently there are two ways to get a watcher, you talk to any npc watcher anywhere (crime only), or you make a general sending for them. However, back in the old days with the arrest wands--they had a few options that were very cool. I am in no way thinking the teleport to jail should be reinstated.

However, we used to be able to call for backup (and degrees of it), and to make a silent but general call to a location for other watchers. Much in the same way the npcs call for people.

I would like to see, either a bell in the watch house, or the watcher badge being given those previous options while inside dunwarren. Preferably both, but well, I'll take what I can get.

Suggestions / Clowns

I've only done this a few times, however, the Mirrors really suck. They spilt up the party for really long times, everyone is forced to wait around. The Reflections can spam and you might walk into 40 of them. Its a super cool idea, but ... Really, I think it needs to be cut in half.

Half the number of mirror steps.

Or just replace them entire, or offer some way around it.

Suggestions / Wilderness prelude
April 06, 2014, 02:02:54 AM
Beautiful area, but I've a number of concerns.

To begin with the experience award given through the prelude and the resulting expulsion into the game-world is extremely low for characters that really have no means of equipment. Seeing as most experience drops through the other options are significantly greater, it just begs to wonder how any non-druid could viably use this feature. The lack of supplies really makes every other entrance into the gameworld more viable, even though this is truly very cool.

The gathering event is extremely slow, very few spawns and nearly no source of healing for lower level characters who don't know where they're going. The fact that you have to navigate the dialogue even when you're  turning in the rewards (which aren't much considering) just seems clunky, unless the npcs truly does forget who you are after the 2 minute interval.

I foudn lots of dead player characters and a lot of empty space. Maybe if the npcs spoke, or just said random chatter if you sat around and watched them for awhile–which would be awesome even if they completely ignored you. Like the ambient npc dialogues of efum. (the teacher in particular could just say things to the others that might reveal their unique perspective on the world)

The layout of the place is sweet, but once again the lack of directions is rather painful. There is at least one npc that wants something that doesn't seem to be there at all. Very limited gold for the fact they charge for things, including the EXIT.

The lack of ways in or out of the area may be intentional, but was very confusing. Since no npc tells you how to get out, you have to either metagame knowledge or get lucky. One exit is ... well, a little problematic if your particular wilderness loner might not wish to use that means of travel. Maybe strange tunnels that take you out into various places in the UD like the Kepti tunnels of old (yet not 2-way).

There doesn't really seem to be a transition in the theme or story from the surface into the dark. What I mean by that is you're being introduced to things up until you're in the underdark, where the information becomes significantly slimmer. I also was kind of wondering why I was where I was in the starting location anyway. It seems like some WHY are you here moment could be useful.

It has lots of potential, but doesn't feel completed.

If this is just something that the team doesn't have time for, I'd be willing to help in any manner.

Suggestions / Detect Magic
January 16, 2014, 03:54:27 AM
I was thinking about cool divination spells and came upon this. A very common cantrip, with very little chance of ever being added into EFU:R. I still think it could be neat. It would be significantly more useful on efu than in cannon, so the spell level should certainly be level one or higher. It should most definitely be considered a hostile action, although probably shouldn't break invisibility.

For those looking to have a focused diviner, sorcerer or wizard, it would perhaps give them something that is nothing more than a utility, really, but would allow them something of a useful hostile divination.
Detect Magic (new spell)
–––––
Divination, spell level 1
Single Target: Will save partial
Effect: You get a yellow list displayed in your combat log similar to Dispel Magic which lists the current active spells on the target. If they passed the will save, then there is a 50% chance any single spell will be excluded from the list. If no spells are revealed, it will return a comment saying as much.
If this idea has traction within the DM team, you could also always use the spell focus feats to add levels of power as well as a degree of uncertainity. Such as:

Normal
Pass: 25% hidden; Fail 75% hidden
Spell focus Divination
Pass: 5% hidden; Fail 50% hidden
Greater Spell Focus
Pass: 5% hidden; Fail 25% hidden

Bug Reports / Elf Heads
January 06, 2014, 03:50:53 AM
Very strangely, I took a  hak head on an elvan pc. Went to Sanctuary, used togglehood once, and when I toggled back, I had the normal base elvan head again. Also I somehow mangaged to avoid getting the elvan racial bonus' despite having the skin load for Wood Elf. ?_?

Off-topic Discussion / Has anyone seen Blue?
September 21, 2013, 04:06:40 PM
Idle curiosity.

Blue41 dropped off the radar some weeks back. It was a rather abrupt departure. Without speculation... I'm wondering if anyone knows what  happened? Do you know him in RL? Do you have the ability to contact him? Is he okay?

Anyhow, thanks.

Suggestions / Custom Armors
September 17, 2013, 07:52:17 PM
This is less of a suggestion and more of a request.

Can we please get the tabard models and the long dangly cloth robes added to the available options? The only reason people pay to have custom armor (lacking all buffs) is for visual coolness.

General Discussion / Ranger Perk Questions
September 17, 2013, 01:47:10 AM
I have a few things I'd like to get clarification on. I realize that some ambiguity is fine, but these can be rather potent considerations when it comes to the design of a ranger character.

Quote from: "Derfo"- Movement Speed bonus for rangers in wilderness areas capped at +10% default
Quote from: "Howland"It's worth clarifying that these bonuses are on top of the default NWN  bonuses (+damage/skills) as well as EFU generic bonuses of +1 AB to FE  per 3 ranger levels as well as +skill bonuses in wilderness  areas/movement speed bonus.

The Old Movement speed bonuses were 10% level 3 ranger, 15% level 6, 20% level 9. Do rangers no longer benefit from level 6/9 movement speed increases? Or does this mean Rangers no longer benefit from another classes movement speed increase?

QuoteElemental
 • 10% Elemental Immunity. (acid, cold, electrical and fire)
 • +1 random elemental damage (acid, cold, electrical or fire) each rest/reset.
Does this random elemental damage negate spells like darkfire and flameweapon? If you have a weapon with elemental damage already, does this stack with it? Does this damage apply to ranged weapons as well as melee weapons?

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Ssambra Evenintide aka "Mouse"
September 09, 2013, 12:40:55 AM
It was a fun ride, crazy. Towards the end there I was just dying too much and getting smothered mechanical inadequacies. I'll cut to the chase.

[tface=walter]Ssambra Eveningtide[/tface]; 26 year old, female chondathon. Chaotic Neutral (leaning Good), Deity: Selune

Personality: Ssambra Eveningtide is an opportunist first and foremost, she will attempt to turn every situation to her advantage. Being born within a traveling gypsy caravan has taught her never to trust authority and to embrace her own freedom no matter the risks. She is not one to withhold her passions, and if she wants something, she will go out and get it, even if doing so would get her into significant trouble. She loved the feeling of the breeze, the shine of the night-sky, and the allure of the quiet moon. Her worship tended to be be spread primarily amongst Llirra, Selune, and Shaundakul.

She was a gypsy, a pirate, a mother, and what can best be described as a self-professed Harper. Many people played a huge role in shaping her, and due to her Need to feel wanted, anyone that was around her shaped her into something more. It was an emotional ride inside this one's head. I never did get to finish any of my books, or my plot with all those letters everyone left her at the Tower. Most are still in play IG, I made copies and never ever got rid of them.

Thanks everyone.

Here are some efum screenshots:

Suggestions / Society Chapterhouse Bell
September 02, 2013, 02:40:19 AM
I find that almost every week I have a reason to want to find an ordinate. It would be nice if we had some way of *dinging* them if they happened to be inside the chapter house, or Upper Sanctuary.

Suggestions / Quest Limits
August 25, 2013, 02:25:26 AM
I know why we have maximum number of times a person can do a Quest. However, I think that for some of the less, introductory quests, it would make more sense and be more flavorful to longer lived (often killed pcs) if this was limited to a certain number of times within a set period of time.

Say instead of max 5 times ever.

A quest would be 3 times within two weeks. Or 2 times within four, etc.

Bug Reports / Crossroads Camp

The Crossroads camp sits too close to other cave maps, so if any creature has been spawned in any of them. The rest point cannot be used.

The face is a disaster and should not be allowed, being double extended from the side.

Suggestions / The middleground Ruins
August 08, 2013, 04:25:07 AM
The Watch post needs the ability to kill any bandit npc that comes within sight of them. Getting ganked by npcs in that -guarded- transition is lame.

Fix it.

Suggestions / Remove or Change "Menhir"

They are too strong. They need a real model.

All monsters should have an attack animation and not feel like you've been deleted by an impossibly strong computer glitch.

Bug Reports / Nightmares

When these trigger, they do so BEFORE the script checks all the resting variables that reward you rest. I just had a nightmare while awake after clicking on the R button near a campsite.
