He may be Gonzo but he will never truly be gone.

Fun PC man. I look forward to your next.

A great and fun PC to play with.

I enjoyed watching Aeryn plot and conspire and having to simply go along with what was mostly ill-advised plans with the best of intentions.

She took Gaddiel on a wild ride. A master for him that will be very difficult to top.

Suggestions / Revising the Gladiator system
March 06, 2021, 03:32:11 PM
While I think the gladiator system is a cool addition to EfU and was created with good intentions I think, like it has been discussed, that just like other things implemented it has been learned, cheesed and no longer retains the spirit that was initially intended.

I have some small suggestions;

1) As Griff said in another suggestion, the power level (despite the argument of time and supply investment) should be toned down. I don't think any static reward should be as powerful as the deck is.

2) Gladiators offer substantial XP in some cases and makes progressing from level 9 to level 10 much easier than in previous chapters. The XP should be scaled back, at least at levels 9+.

Level 10 has always been regarded as a level that's had a certain expectation for characters that achieve it. I am not sure if that expectation is being met in some circumstances and I do not want to see characters who do not meet these expectations to be rewarded for cheesing or laming content.

3) Gladiators should no longer announce when they arrive. On several occassions I have heard of players opening a conversation with a gladiator so that other players cannot open the dialogue themselves. This is done so that their OOC friends can log in and fight the gladiator. While this won't remedy this completely it will help prevent players from sniping gladiators. And this type of behavior is very gamey a doesn't belong on EfU.

4) No pre-buffing *period*. A player should still be allowed to pre-buff before moving in the arena once in it but players shouldn't be allowed to have their cleric and wizard buddy apply every buff possible before initiating the fight.

The gladiator system is a great system for characters that indulge in those activities and it is static content that helps characterize certain concepts. Though unfortunately the characters that benefit most from this system are characters who otherwise do not engage in this style of play or roleplay outside of trying to make gains in the PvE arena.

I am not suggesting that the gladiator system be nerfed so much that it is no longer worth it but I think as it is now deserves some discussions of simply making it more fair, more sporting and overall better for the health of the server.

Suggestions / Re: Dual wield and other suggestions...

I think the only change rangers need is for the EfU custom FE bonuses to be pure only and the ab/damage halved if you multiclass.

Suggestions / Re: Duelist Perk Reimagined
January 23, 2021, 05:53:51 PM
I suggest keeping the Level 8 bonus the same (Dodge), which will still allow for Duelist fighters to take Mobility at 9 (if they chose to) and to keep the fighter perk power the same (+1 ab, +1 ac for 1 turn if wearing cloth/light/medium armor).

What an awesome ride man. The most fun I've had on EfU in a long time!

The king is good and knows well the worth of elves.

Suggestions / Wizard Spellbooks
August 07, 2020, 02:00:55 AM
This suggestion is sparked by a discussion in the past regarding the limitation of spell schools as well as a recent topic of spellbooks. While wizards are particular powerful, I think it can be agreed that they lack a certain flare of their counterpart. While this isn't necessarily a solution to that it may add some further variety to wizards and maybe some more unique spell choices.

My suggestion is for there to exist Spellbooks IG (Book of Pyromancy, Book of Illusions, etc) that wizards would attune or "study" a spellbook. Attuning to the book would put a set selection of spells into the character's spell list, circumventing spell school restrictions in some cases. A wizard can only study one book at a time.

Examples;

Book of Illusions; Color Spray, Invisibility, Displacement added to spell list,

Book of Pyromancy; Burning Hands, Fireball added to spell list,

Book of Conjuration; Summon 1, Summon 2, Summon 3 added to spell list,

Book of Transmuting; Expedious Retreat, Bull's Strength, Cat's Grace, Slow added to spell list,

And so on and so forth.

These books could also give other perks such as small skill bonuses and maybe bonus feats in rarer cases and maybe even bonus CL to certain spells. The books would vary in power also, from novice finds to master level books.

Now is a good time to roll an elf and help shape what we are trying to become an elven City of Rings small god and legacy association.

The faction is focused on the forgotten relationship of the kings court and elves of the past and either the vengeance or redemption of their people. The liberation of the artifacts and culture of their people. The empowering of their goddess who they believe came to the city as many Awakened do, their true identity lost.

They are protectors, shepards, scholars and liberators. Guerillas and soldiers in times of war and teachers during times of peace.
