Off-topic Discussion / Re: EFU:R Leaving/Returning Posts

Kora will still be around, but I'm now working 6 nights a week in 7 hour shifts in when would be my usual playtime. Might be a bit scarce!

Hit me up on Discord (AMDW) if you want to meet up or need me for something.

I'm legitimately sad that this stupid flower eating elf friend of mine is gone.

But yeah, you had a great run. Lot of stuff I wasn't even aware of in here given how late I came around.

Saevel definitely helped a lot of PCs grow, and that in and of itself is a very impressive achievement. You certainly helped me develop my own into the role she has quite a bit and I'm super grateful.

I found my old override folder on my external harddrive, which means that I've reuploaded it for EE.

It contains:

-- Hand models to replace the default Bioware MEATFISTS.
-- HD Texture improvements. This mostly adds stains to things, but it's nice.
-- Colored-coded spell icons, potion icons
-- Updated item icons

It works for EE. I've tested it. No, I'm not going to go through and seperate out all the spell icons or potions icons or item icons you don't like. Do it yourself, or take it or leave it, but in my experience, it improves NWN's look and feel a great deal from the base package that you just get when you just get the default EFU pack.

Directions:

1. Extract to your NWN directory. Mine, for an example, is, "C:\Users\AMDW\Documents\Neverwinter Nights"
2. Enjoy.

Here is a glamour shot.

EDIT: Please inform me if you use this and then come across any bugs. I probably won't be able to do anything to remedy them, but I will post a warning for others and probably not do anything else.

Loved these two, a lot.

So with the seasons changing, I'm going to be working a lot more heading forward. Probably 5 nights a week. I'll be available during the morning and days, though.

Seems like he's tagged with the older Mouldercest Conversation, which I enjoy greatly, but it also makes him seem like he's having something of an identity crisis.

A+ stuff right here.

Probably the best Granny character yet?

Certainly my favorite, anyway.

If the lack of DM and player activity is really what is bothering you, I'd suggest just waiting it out. It gets like and has been like this literally every summer since I started playing (in 2013!)

Everyone moans that it's dead, that this is the year that EFU finally dies, and then in the autumn everyone sorta files back in and makes the server more vibrant and interesting again once.

If it's still like this in 2 months, I'd actually be worried. Otherwise, it's just business as usual.

The rest, ultimately, is whatever. I like the setting as is, I enjoy free PVP in Upper Sanctuary, and I enjoy that the best way to make your mark in the game right now is to gather up a gang of like-minded morons and have a scrap with some other morons in the streets. Maybe courtesy could be extended more, I'm not aware of how many FDs are going around-- it certainly doesn't seem like a lot but what do I know-- but ultimately tense, nerve-wracking scenarios  are generally when EFU is at it's most fun for me, as a player. Pretty sure I've lost more of these than I've ever won, to boot.

As far as assassins, and the perils of leadership... well, they're a part of the game. Anyone can be a leader, but holding onto that spot, being controversial, being hunted is as much of a part of it as waving around the size of your charisma score.

I can't really comment on player agency. I'm not sure I understand the complaint all that well. The gameworld almost always moves slower than players do, it's a big part of players outnumbering the DM team.

I do sorta miss the more all-inclusive melting-pot DM events that would occasionally spring up that weren't necessarily metaplot related, but a good chance to mechanically test PCs and create bonds or conflict rather than just smashing down bath house every reset and then quietly logging out, and maybe those big stickied plot threads could have moved forward a bit faster but otherwise things aren't really as bad as you've made them out to be. And I say that as someone who has had absolutely no DM attention or interaction on her current PC and hasn't really quested all that much since she got level 8.

There's almost always trouble to be gotten into, new people to meet, ways to make EFU better for the other people around you.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A right-and-proper freak.

Was sad to hear that you died before Kora could make up her mind on whether she wanted to beat her up or not.

Good stuff.
