RIP Mr Frog after his wild ride.

You did very well to tough it out and keep playing when you became a horrible monstrosity that was exiled from everywhere. Good job!

I never got to make your helm hatch. RIP. :(

Whilst the Peerage's tourney events continue unabated, all has not been well in Ticker Square.

Today a swarm of oversized insects broke through the cobblestones of the Square itself, bursting out to attack all they could encounter. It was only thanks to a group of valiant defenders enduring the corrosive liquids spat at them and the sharpened mandibles lunged at them that the Square was held. The insects eventually were driven back into the depths.

Oddly, after the chaos subsided, witnesses spoke of strange details: the insects dragging the fallen back with them into the depths, along with anything else they could put their mandibles upon; an oddly shaped and differently coloured insect seemingly scurrying about, observing the whole situation from behind the rest of the chitinous hordes.

Whilst many took shelter after the onslaught in the Open Door, a few hardy souls ventured elsewhere in search of the creatures. Eventually they returned victorious, with a dead example of the odd observer insect, along with a few rescued fallen from the Square battle.

With the residents of Ticker Square growing afraid of potential further attacks, eyes have turned expectantly to the secretive Stonebuilder's Guild in order to repair the damage and to bolster the defences of their home. It is said that after some odd ritual involving some Ringrunners of Ticker's Square that the Stonebuilder's have stated that once again their ranks will open to new artisans and defenders: but only when the portents of the stone say it is the right time...

Announcements / Hello!

It's a pleasure to have been given this opportunity, as EFU really has been a very welcoming on and off home for me for the last seven years. I look forward to helping many people where I can!

Hopefully I don't accidentally kill too many of you during my early days.

Happy to have been killed during our lowbie death duel by such a cool PC, but sad that I couldn't think of anything to play during the rest of his reign of terror.

There is a means to get in that is readily available for anyone. It's not even hidden. You don't need social skills to get in at all.

These two quests are both in fairly remote regions of the server, with low level caps, meaning that they are very rarely done. One is behind a zone known for having deadly spawns, the other is behind two horizontal climbs that will send you to the beginning of the area, and probably lose you your rope at the same time.

Having done them both today I can say that the extra effort / danger to visit them is presently unrewarded, as neither gives much of use in either supplies or experience. Ogre's Den seems to primarily give rewards limited to one alignment, but which are not particularly strong. Lava Flow seems to give a lot of items without obvious properties, and therefore likely of little value to the low levels that visit them.

Both could do with a buff to the rewards they give, as they are neat and interesting little quests, just presently under loved and under visited.

An amusing distraction. He probably didn't deserve a thread, but what the hell, his final moments were hilarious.

At level 5 I managed to have a running brawl with 3 PCs through the In-Between, before meeting my match in a much larger group that arrived after the other three had left. To the victor went the spoils:

Like any container, sometimes the "chest" that contains the baby breaks and no longer provides anything.

Probably the only solution would be to have the baby be a drop by the mother instead of recovered from a container.

The aim with Tim was to make a Roachman Unpredictable Sorceror Bloodbandit who would maybe eventually become a Bloodmage.

In short: roll all the dice.

It... it didn't go so good, right from the very beginning...

And so was Tim born with a statline of 6/6/6/12/9/18.

Until it came once again for pain at level 8, with double doom dice!

Quote from: This character was created on Friday, February 26th, 2016 at 03:19:31 PM.
Since creation, this character has logged on and off 123 times.
The character has spent 5 days, 21 hours, 6 minutes, and 7 seconds online.

Well that was faster than Algarn at least.

Acaros was designed to just be an annoying dickbag, extolling the virtues of Sanctuary and Final Sanctuary and obeying whatever ridiculous and facist orders he might be given. On his very first day he helped Watchers murder rioters, which was pretty much a sign of things to come. He lost an arm to Munt (but no Munt loot, only skeleton arm =( ) and competed with Claude Cavanac to see who could be shat on by life the most, but in the end it seems his fate was sealed once his Warder buddy was no longer alive to bring him back to his life of suffering.

I think it's less that it hurts new PCs at low levels than it hurts new players. There's a known chain of quests that most experienced players, regardless of their overall skill, can easily go through on their Upper (and now Lower) based PCs to be fairly well supplied at lowish levels, without needing another PC as an ally. New players, or those who haven't played in a long time, either won't know or won't recall the route and therefore have fewer supplies than perhaps they "should".

The max six through to max eight quests though can vary wildly in rewards from basically nothing to sizeable returns, so it is pretty rough at times once you've reached that stage.

He was fun to observe, especially how almost every time he set up his stall he would somehow get into trouble with the Watchers.
