Suggestions / Rebel City
July 09, 2019, 07:17:39 AM
These little guys cause some big tempers when they get found instead of something more glamorous. I love those little jerks so here's a few ideas to improve the experience with them.

First, and this is huge, give them their own set and static location. Likely somewhere closer to the Peerage/Ponds side so they have another reliable low/mid level soloable quest option.

Second the loot is a bit iffy. Vendor trash like tiny sacks of gold and tiny piles of gem don't really feel rewarding. Mind you the other items are super thematic and I like most of it.

Third add in some mobile defenses or wandering 'giant' monsters that come up to a human's knee.

Suggestions / "Buff" Ward Area
April 08, 2019, 08:06:35 PM
An odd fit for the suggestion forum, as it's not a change to mechanics but behavior. As it stands every use of this spell I've heard of and witnessed has been instantly dispelled by a DM. It's already a very situational spell, allowing it to have an unseen foe wave it away like a puff of smoke makes it entirely useless.

Dispelling Ward Area isn't so bad, but not at no risk. Should only be dispelled by something with a line of effect.

Bug Reports / No shipments after reset

I had paid Herb the 200 gold for a shipment, and before delivery was made there was a reset. Afterwards I only had the option to place a new order.

Bug Reports / Protection from Alignment not brewing
January 22, 2019, 04:31:38 AM
Casting Prot.Evil on a brewers elixir and potion bottle both returns a message that it can't be brewed into a potion. I had well over the amount brewing such has costed in the past at the time.

Born in a cave to a grave robber and infused with pure magical darkness, Charisse was a violent and angry child. She killed those around her whenever the opportunity had struck. They were weak and in moments of helplessness. It was easy.

She lived among a small cult of people following a necromancer. The other children she was near had been infused in a similar way. For some reason, despite being friendly for days on end, they would always become violent. Eventually Charisse was the only child left with the darkness inside her.

One fateful night she was taken to the necromancer. Her mother brought her. A loving woman, and caring mother. The child couldn't understand anything the adults spoke of. None of it made sense to her. How could it?

Something her mother said still confused Charisse, even until her final hour. These words sent the necromancer into a rage, and he struck the woman down.

"You made your own daughter into a nightmare. We need to show her and the rest of the world mercy from what she may become."

Charisse had never met the necromancer's daughter. She didn't know he had one.

She fled. She was taken away. For years she was kept and treated as property. Often times she'd hear the people around saying she needed to be kept focused. They didn't want her to eat. They didn't let her sleep, or not for long. She had to hide just to rest.

After a long time of hating the people around her it wasn't long before they somehow found their way into Sanctuary. It was there she learned of the god Talona. She prayed and begged for her keepers to die. Through illness and tainted cooking, her wish was granted. What she had not anticipated was having no way to find food of her own.

Three days passed before she went into the city to beg. A man looked down at her as she held her hands up.

"Get a job, you're making the place look untidy."

That single comment sparked her. She wanted to work for no other reason that to spite that man. She took up a job with the Union, the same group as him.

Armed with a scrap of cloth to fling rocks and nothing else Charisse took to adventuring. A few days later, her magic showed itself. Little by little she greedily snatched up whatever she could. She fed herself. Life was better.

One fateful dark, a woman stood before her with a look of contempt. A paladin. Charisse, already trying to understand the world around her, took this woman's words to heart. She admitted that her very soul may be tainted. So she followed behind the Paladin. She walked towards a brighter path. Ilmater's mercy guided her.

In the end Charisse did find happiness. She accepted herself, flaws and all. Through darkness, the light shone forth.

Fun fact: The line I kept using "Remember. You're not alone in the dark." came about before I heard that. I did end up using some of the lyrics in sendings albeit reworded heavily.

Everything on Charisse lined up perfectly. I made her evil with standards. She started off with a hate of animating the undead, and a respect for honesty. Aside from that everything was fair game. I was even looking at what spells would be the most painful to get dropped on you from invis. But NOOOO the universe had to align itself to make her GOOD. Ok, well, in game it stopped at CN, but as far as I'm concerned she was really NG.

When the Machine turned on she was hand-in-hand with Dal, content with whatever happened. No screenshots because I don't take 'em!

Most important items!
Handful of sling bolts from starting (I don't know why but I got attached to them, and being in the ammo slot didn't take up space)
First Magic Item: Enchanted Healing Kit (A sign of things to come, it turned out)
"An obvious note lain out carefully" mk3 (Lost the first two due to walking off.)
Charisse's huge, bountiful chest (Having no social/romantic/sexual upbringing made her innocent comments about the animated chest hilarious to me.)

Bug Reports / Greyshroom Stalk equipment conflict
December 18, 2018, 09:43:14 AM
The offending equipment seems to be a trio of
-Greyshroom Stalk (Weapon slot)
-Dangly Hoop Earrings (Cloak slot)
-Neckchain of the Innate (Necklace slot)

Both earrings and neckchain don't allow head slot, and the earrings also prevents cloaks. (Odd considering it IS the cloak item, but that's not the bug)

When the Stalk is the last piece equipped it doesn't work correctly, acting as though I was using a disabled slot. When the Stalk is the first or second of those three it functions normally.

I also tested on another no damage weapon, and a set pair of weapons with no problems.

Screen Shots & Obituaries / Cress Fallen
February 28, 2017, 12:49:40 AM
"Mommy please, I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I'll be good!"

But the young girl's screams fell on deaf ears. Her mother tossed the bound girl into a cart, accepted her pay, and marched off.

This girl was a special case. They hadn't abducted her. She was legally their own property, and brought in at a young age of six. She'd be broken easy and sold off as some dirty old man's new pet.

Two years of nightmares pass. Something in the girl was breaking indeed, but not her will. She started acting odd. Answering to different names, mouthing off to 'guards', and making claims of being a great hero.

For years she'd be confused. "Waking up" in a cage surrounded by dogs snarling at her or realizing she had been missing teeth from beatings she doesn't remember. The other captive ladies kept it as secret as they could.

"Dear, it was another girl named Erin. She pushed over a guard and blamed it on you."

When she turned 16 the girl was finally allowed to be sold. A fat, disgusting lord made the purchase knowing exactly whose daughter she was. He had his guard hurl her on his bed, leave, and he locked the door.

"You're a bad man!" Was the last thing he heard before being clobbered with a vase. The girl leapt out the window, climbed down the building and somehow managed to evade capture. She was free. Safe. The other names stopped coming.

It was another four years before she found Sanctuary. The first place she didn't have to constantly run from people or beg for food. Compared to the rest of her life it was paradise. She loved it.

"Heya everybody, my name's Lina Cress! And I'm gonna be the hero that saves the world!"

It did not love her back. In the end she would find hope was unwelcome. It took a while, but eventually she was broken. The names came back. This time with more understanding of what they meant. Somehow, with the help of a priestess of Mystryl, the girl's flame sparked anew. It was promptly stomped out. Broken, and no longer answering to the name she had told everyone, she decided to surrender. To go out on her own terms.

This is the story of the poor, tortured soul. The girl known as Lina Cress, her birth name Kerrigan Lumille.

---

Yup, she dead. No screenshots, I can never be bothered to do that. But how 'bout that plot twist? Yes, since I decided on the multiple personality thing I knew that Kerrigan was her "original self". I wanted to make a character who would have explosive energy and really slam it home with that chaotic good alignment. At a certain point I couldn't justify Lina staying peppy so I knew the story was coming to a close. Kerrigan, as well as myself, knew it was time to wrap it up. Had my secret final ploy worked I would have retired her anyways.

"Treasure!"
Erin was the result of wanting a conflict in the personalities. I wanted something easy to remember and simple. She'd only ever speak one word at a time, cause trouble and laugh about it. My favorite moment was after not using nightshade and somebody getting mad over it, we went through the mission and I found a piece of nightshade. Erin picked it up, showed it off, and dropped it off the side of a boat. She "died" when Lina and Kerrigan realized they need to be more responsible.

"Oh, I'm certain things will get interesting..."
Four, or Delia as her real name was, was more of a rebel. Always wanting to push the pieces in the right direction, but never getting in to the conflict herself. She was the hardest to figure out, but thankfully she "died" after seeing what a REAL rebellion is like. She was able to remember bits of when she was somebody else, making her a good spy whenever another self was around somewhere.

"I just want to sell potions."
Kerrigan, the secret real Lina, was always terrified she was fake and would stop existing. To say she got fed up with the nonsense her other selves got in to would be an understatement. Organized, responsible and usually polite, Kerrigan was by far the "real" person. She died last, mostly by having given up.

"Heya everybody, Lina Cress here!"
The main event, so to speak. Bouncy, fun and always hoping to make a difference. She made friends with every damn person she could. I'll be honest, I based her off an old CoH char I made. Cause of death: Crushed spirit.
