[A reply comes, albeit slower than Felix likely wished.]

Felix,

Come and speak with me on this matter. We may just see your play put to stage.

General Discussion / Re: Gaming vs Gamesmanship

I find it weird to even talk about this because 80% (subjectively)  or so of all my PvP experiences are "someone I don't know robs me wordlessly" and various "not a single line of text PvP" experiences. "Magic that is storytelling" my ass.

And if you claim this is not encouraged I think you are just lying.

Maybe I am old fashioned, but I feel like you could give your quarry (that usually doesn't even know who the heck you are) a single emote or something. Where's the story in wordless robbery? Where's the story in mute FD? Might as well just quest, at least the quest mobs aren't going to FD you and are sometimes scripted to talk.

Edit: I know, bitter and off-topic. Whatever. Magic my arse. The magic on EfU is the cool lore and DM quests, but the player versus player aspect feels like it's just an arena server with extra steps.

i don't know how many wordless fds or silent robberies you've had in your lifetime at efu but I can think of that happening to me 1 time.

even the worst fd i ever got wasn't wordless/emoteless so i feel like you're either having a very unique experience or complaining about something rare.

Suggestions / Re: Ward Prestige system
December 31, 2020, 07:11:00 AM
im sure the whole thing will come to minor houses duking it out, and i highly doubt zheng is in anyway even at the frontrunner of the "prestige race"

im pretty sure you're not getting bullied but got challenged to a duel over actions your character committed, not zheng choosing to bully you over a minor house.

as for prestige, there's higher level quests aplenty that drop prestige items, dispensaries have items worth 500-1000 all the time. dm events and stuff involving peers usually end with a pay out for some kind of prestige. I've done none of these things btw, and managed to scrape up a decent amount thus far.

Introductions and Group Management / House Blackmantle
December 06, 2020, 03:17:25 AM
House Blackmantle is a player lead minor house, w.the lord being me.  the lord is me, Merrick Blackmantle and our goals are kill all of Velstra and take over their holdings.
if u want to stir up a civil war and kill guys with pointy ass purple shoes, hmu in game or ooc.

alignment is whatever you want and obviously no druids because we're peer people.

the main thing is just turning every lowbie quest into search checks kind of brutalized not having search as a skill as early level, and I think overall just not a fun or good change. I havent had a what if of everything on a character in so long because I dont have search lol

There's no denying that for every interesting dwarf you have an ayeladaxekin, or vedui cousin elf (though they seem to be p rare nowadays), and I can see where you're coming from with that take, but personally, I think the complaint is more so that to play an interesting dwarf or elf or whatever the hell, you're cut off from the arguably most interesting hub in COR. This isn't to say Peerage shouldn't be humancentric, I think that compared to the Peerage though, Ticker/Ponds is far far less interesting to play in vs Peerage, which has cool factions, it's own neat religion etc etc etc.. Peerage feels like an actual functioning, living place vs Ticker where the good the bad and the ugly theme plays and everybody only talks to set up the next QA train.

COR is humancentric as hell, and it probably always will be, and I think I have some hot takes for this:

Fuck any DM, player or whatever the fuck you wann'a call yourself that unironically plays shitty fucking early 2000's elf game and thinks that playing anything but a human is LaMe or sUbOpTiMal or iNfEriOr.
The people on this thread dumping on the idea that sub-human races need more content is kind of memeworthy. "make your own story blah blah blah," i think you're missing the baseline complaint that a HUGE SWATHE of DM attention, server-wide events, content etc is so humancentric that some people who don't wanna play boring fucking human jim #1478347834 with 14 in every stat and got his extra feat, would like to be apart of stuff beyond the shit they have to work their ass off to push themselves.

Bottom line is - THIS IS A FUCKING FANTASY GAME LOL. It's fucking wizards and stupid shit like that, there shouldn't be anything wrong with saying hey wow it would be cool if all subhuman races didn't get shoved into the two least interesting hubs.

Suggestions / Re: WF Improvised
March 13, 2020, 03:13:12 AM
I don't think improvised focus would make the server a joke lmao it's a feat in some systems already there gamers.

youre thinking too closed-minded, when we've had multiple pcs use "improvised" weaponry and none of them were jokes

a raging barb who just uses whatever he can grab nearby shit like that

Suggestions / WF Improvised

Add wf for oars, shovels, books, other holdables that could be considered "improvised weapons", it to monk for extra goodness

opens up stuff for weird fighter/rogue perks or barb furor.
