As a cleric player myself I would not want to see this implemented.

Call me a negative nancy but Bless is already good enough for a 1st circle spell and there should not be a mechanic incentive for characters to follow the same deity but a RP incentive instead.

If experience gains get nerfed it might just increase the friendlyman qwest behavior occurances and make people quest even more cautiously. Wait how the story evolves, then we'll see how it goes.

Bug Reports / Temple of the Nine Faced - Spawn location
January 05, 2021, 07:51:08 PM
The spawn location in the Temple of the Nine Faced God does not work. Upon reset it will say that it's an invalid location and drop you off in Ring 100, at the gate to 101.

What in god's name are those saves?

Nice character btw, I am just baffled by those saves.

dm events and stuff involving peers usually end with a pay out for some kind of prestige. I've done none of these things btw, and managed to scrape up a decent amount thus far.

I can remember only one time of being awarded any prestige points after having played 1+ year of EfU. And I spent most of that time playing Peerage based characters.

1. A bit soon to already declare House Zheng the 5th Great House, don't you think?  Though it's understandable how one can live under that assumption by just looking at how many people hop onto the asia-hype train and how House Zheng apparently has a dozen clans serving under it while being a minor House.

2. You say groats are virtually infinite which is not correct. A dozen factors go into how much money your character makes. Professions, time you can invest, luck and not being FDd or robbed.

3. Minor House Retainers do not even get prestige from clearing out vegetation in the Rings.

4. You are focusing too much on the numbers at hand. I am 90% confident that the race for the Great House seat will not be resolved by someone actually acquiring 300.000 prestige points. That is an astronomically high number. And even then, DM Vlaid said that simply purchasing the book is not a guarantee. I think the fifth seat will rather be taken by the House that manages to either eliminate it's opposition (through subjugation, making deals or annihilation) or manages to "win" several DM events of high importance over the course of several months.

Perhaps EFU could offer a chance to play "Commoner" class? Arelith has such implementation, it is for those that want to focuse on RP and crafting rather than adventuring.

If you want to be a commoner just RP being a commoner. I hate the idea of X amounts of levels in "Commoner" dictating how much of a commoner your character truly is.

Also, Arelith's "Commoner" is basically just a glorified crafting factory on legs.

Suggestions / Arena Fighters - Cheating?
December 06, 2020, 07:55:33 AM
So I dueled the Lion's Cub Theo on my character and attempted a tried and true tactic of using an invisibility potion for that 50% concealment while I drink potions to bring myself up in a regular manner.

Only this time Theo decided to immediately act like he was not aware of my presence and within the blink of an eye the arena unlocked and he left.

I was told OOCly that this was done to counter invisibility cheese that was used in the arenas but this is a strange, immersion breaking change.

Though I understand that anti-invis cheese should exist I do suggest giving the NPCs a timer of 1 turn or 5 rounds before they leave the arena, unless their opponent reappears.

Alternatively I suggest adding an IC rule to the arenas about how means of invisibility are forbidden.

Bug Reports / Tehoto - Bloodtail Pirates Qwest
December 06, 2020, 07:38:53 AM
The quest with the Bloodtail Pirates kobolds and lizardmen had a bug I have never encountered before as we went to do it with a group of 7 people last reset.

Upon entering the "ship battle" part at the end the small boxes of groats, that everyone can pick their individual rewards from, were already spawned in.
After completing the ship battle part the usual final group of enemies spawned in, accompanied by their treasure trove.
The boxes of groats did not spawn in again.

I report this because this bug potentially gives people an early reward even though they can still fail the optional ship battle part of the quest, which goes counter against it being a risk-reward sort of thing.

Would've loved to interact more with her when I was playing Wern Pale, but oh well!

Kudos for that final march and bringing what is basically the next chapter of this chapter.
*Inception theme starts playing*

Suggestions / Re: unnerf the starting experience

I have to disagree.

Having recently died (FD) multiple times I had to go through the leveling experience multiple times.

Plenty of quests give you 50 groats just for turning them in. Others even more, one going up to 150 guaranteed gold just for passing a few skill checks, their DCs being so low that you can even pass them without investing into the skills.

Are the loot piles mostly locked behind search checks now? Yes. But the search DCs are all low enough to where a character with 0 points invested into search can pass them.
But I do think you are heavily exaggerating the results of a full run of quests.
Even with Cheese Alley's quest now removed there is still so much to do, so much to see. And so much to loot. There is no way you could end up with only "one bag of dirty yellow ash" at the end of it.

In fact I find the road to level 6 too easy now. I can do it in two to three resets without having to talk a word with anyone in-game for 95% of the time doing it.
