I am not 100% sure if things are just hidden from me on the client. But...

1. I've noticed using the perk activate whirlwind thing, it sometimes just misses with no text (could be that it just doesn't show the attack roll?)
2. I've noticed when it hits, it shows no attack rolls for hitting (could be it's hidden too? Not sure. But if it is guaranteed hit within a certain radius, it could be a bit OP?)
3. I've noticed it does not gain extra dmg, this spin attack, from anything but the physical regular stuff. Had Divine Favor up and Flame weapon, it only did physical.

Hello!

Wiki and changelog both state Wall of Fire should work on arrows/bolts for eldritch archer. It does not, and now I can't set the world on fire.

Suggestions / Hero spawn repeats if they beat you
October 15, 2022, 03:45:45 PM
If you get beaten up by a hero spawn in a certain quest, I think it would be pretty fun if the chance to run into it again would be increased if you run the same quest again.
If they take my lunch money I want a chance to take it back!

could create some fun moments like "Ahh it's that creature again!" or so...

Not sure if this is intended or not. But ..

Rogue Wildsman characters, the ones that turn into fuzzy little werewolves, they always seem to drop a potion of invisibility.

I can't reveal all that I'd wanna reveal, since... old allies still live! But heck was this a fun ride.  I'll make a bandit again some day.
Planned to be regular bandit idiots, went very much elsewhere after some pvp at level 6 and an abduction. Though I suppose the banditry and idiot stuff  remained.

I had a nice collection of screenshots, but I'm worried many of them would be spoilers from stuff still going on. But what I can show, I guess...

To include more would be to throw in spoilers, so this is all I can show. Thanks Vlaid and whoever plays ... let's call him "Dreams". Thank you, the rest of you bone bros.
<3 you Disco, sorry I died without you.

Bug Reports / Ashen Mirage bugs
September 10, 2022, 12:57:23 PM
Two bugs found!

1. When you do /c possess_mirage, you DO possess the clone familiar. However, you cannot move once this is done. I assume that's a bit of a bug!

2. When you use the /c possess_mirage, your inventory gets a bit screwed up. So far I can't see anything being lost. However, if I put anything in page 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 after having done possess mirage (Even after ending the possession, and even after unsummoning the familiar) then it puts that same item in the same slot, but on page 1. Relogging fixes this. Tried this serveral times, and each time the inventory acted up in the same way.

I think, personally, that lower level ash would be entirely fair. But stuff like the purple ash could be pretty dangerous if it is possible to use it on others, as that debuff gets scary in the serious and critical versions of inflict wound.  So with that 'only to be used on undead' marker, I think it would be fine.

Mass Camouflage states
"All allies in the area of effect gain +10 bonus to their hide skill." (changed to 6/2 hide/ms)

It could be that I misunderstand what 'allies' mean - perhaps it's meant for summons, animal companion and such only?  But it would feel as if it should help anyone not hostile around you, too, to me at least. Guess it's all up to how it's preferred.

It does NOT apply to non-hostile players nearby.

Not sure if it's working as intended and I just misunderstand what "ally" means in this case, or if it's bugged. Thought I'd report it though!

Panther, lynx, probably a good few other ones. I just know those two for sure. They get stuck on leaving the ponds cabin, on the stairway down. Exactly the same (it seems a bit of a rubberband-y kind of stuck?) happens on the logs you can jump over in the Willow Way. But a smaller shape, like cobra, works perfect there in both places.

Suggestions / Re: Spells Suggestions Thread
May 20, 2022, 12:46:43 PM
Some illusion stuff! And a divination one...

Phantasmal <Not Killer, but it's little brother. Maybe... Stabber?>
Innate level: 3
School: Illusion
Class: Sorcerer/Wizard (3?)
Components: verbal, somatic
Range: Long
Area of Effect: Single target
Duration:  Instant
Save: Will, save halves
Spell resistance: Yes

Deal 1d6/level single target damage to one target. Depending on the name, maybe some text like... An illusionary dagger appears, stabbing them in the chest! Understanding it's fake makes it less painful.

Maybe someone can think up some fun GSF effect to make it worth being a single target  other than it being Will vs 1d6 dmg single target, as fireball etc. are AOE. But maybe it being will, is enough?
Some GSF: Illusion effect could be to give them a Wounding effect on a failed save due to stabbery, or since it's an illusion it could burst in a bunch of light and blind them for 1 round once the "stab" is done.

Hypnotic Pattern
Spell Level: wizard/sorcerer 3
Innate Level: 3
School: Illusion
Components: verbal, somatic
Range: long
Area of Effect: Huge
Duration: One round per level
Save: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

Twisting patterns that weave through the air for a moment and then vanishes. Creatures in the area who see it must make a will save or be <what's the condition for "stunned, but breaks on damage" called?>

Basically the same effect as Slumber, except it's not targeting sleep so I suggested the area be huge instead of colossal, and no HD check instead. Maybe a HD check should be used? Either way, these would give illusion a CC and damage spell, and on a fun spell level where illusion lacks fun stuff!

DIVINATION STUFF!!!!

Possibly a really dumb one, but I saw the spell in the D&D 5e list and thought, maybe it'd be fun to have it work here in a NWN-way...? My own main worry on this one: How would you deal with it and hostilities? Would casting it bring you out of invis? Would it mean you gotta have a DM if cast in a hub? Would you need to hostile them before casting it...? Could be a bad idea for those reasons

Detect Thoughts
Spell Level: wizard/sorcerer 2
Innate Level: 2
School: Divination
Components: verbal, somatic
Range: long
Area of Effect: Single target
Duration: A minute maybe?
Save: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

The caster reads the target's mind. Successful save, and the target knows something happened. Failed, and perhaps the target can't see that they were a target of a spell? Or is that impossible to implement?

My idea of "reading their thoughts" would be that you can now see all text written as if from their perspective too, fed into your combat log.

Example...

Bob is talking to Steve, whispering.
You cast detect thoughts on Steve, he fails it. Steve does not know about it now. For a minute, you can now see all their whispered conversation, including anything Bob says, as long as Steve can hear it. Obviously, if cast from invis, they would both receive the "Someone is casting spells from invis" prompt.

I wonder if Bert "saving" soulhunger that one time is what eventually lead to his death. :(

Hi.

Just looking at the perk, I think it sound super fun and flavourful. But the problem I see with it is... a sorcerer tends to specialize in stuff. If you copy someone's spells, there's a big chance they will be pretty weak unless you have one or several spell focuses. Especially since you don't get all of their perk benefits, which mgiht make or break a spell selection!

So I thought... Would a tool to select ONE spell focus or greater spell focus each rest be fine?

Steal spells from an azure pyre -> you see they got a few fireballs and such, so you pick to be an evocationist this rest. You still don't get all the powers of their perk, obviously, but you get the ability to utilize their spells pretty well.

The potentially OP part of this would be that you get 1 or 2 feats for free (sf or gsf), but unless you roll up a group of sorcs or wizards to steal specialized spellbooks back and forth according to your needs, I don't think it would be overpowered. Even then, you'd be a spontaneously casting wizard, with rather minor perk benefits compared to the other sorcs.

Thoughts?

Bug Reports / goblin zoo quest, bugged hostilities
April 25, 2022, 02:09:57 PM
Hi,

I realize this bug has been in for as long as I played, but I never thought to report it because I'm dumb.

The quest name I forgot, but it's the zoo quest in 99 that is sometimes the one random quest in an alleyway (the others being zif-uroti, orphanage, murderbone, and granary gobbos)

Both in the house when you first enter it, behind the first door, the goblins have a civil war in there. I think most of them were fighting some Brawler goblins? Not 100% sure.

Second place we found stuff like this was in the spider side thing. Dire spiders fought the giant spiders, and all the giant spiders mobbed up on the poor ... what is that creature called, the spider dudes that walk on two legs? Anyway in that part.

Bug Reports / Spellsword level 8, giving 1 ac
April 12, 2022, 09:09:34 PM
Hey
I seem to have gained +1 AC when I hit level 8 as a sorcerer spellsword.  Not that I mind, but the wiki does not state it gives that, and I saw in the #module-changelog that the only such change was to REMOVE it before I even started playing here ages ago.

With 1 dex mod, 1  deflect, 1 natural AC, +1 from tumble and nothing else, I'm somehow on 15...

I don't think I'm being dumb and not realizing where the AC came from. I was on 13 before, gained level and picked up +1 nat AC, now 15.

Just thought I'd report it in case it's a bug!
