I am strongly in support of this. It is so much easier to handle loot and fairer. You can also just clone the boxes over and over -- which is way easier then dealing with spawning potions.

I agree, it's much more satisfying and easily handled on both sides, it seems.

who gets the sludge potion? or the tensers? wait, why would there ever BE a tensers pot

The original idea here is fine and does not deserve half of the crap that is being spewed in this thread.

The forums are getting nasty and I'm getting tired of it. Chill people, this is just a game.

That's exagerating. I agree with RIP that all PCs should be rewarded the same, as long as they were trying their best.

Remember guys - These boxes or bags of supplies can be very generic and handle the bulk of what's given out in the situations where supplies are the majority. Anything special (Void sips, Stoneskin potions, Accuracy potions, and the other rare things) can be delivered as normal or even in some sort of super-box of supplies.

Also, I'm not sure how it's worked from the DM client at the moment but giving an NPC a box of the good supplies before fighting players might make things a little more simple for DMs in those situations too.

That does sound much simpler.
"So what else is on your mind besides 100 proof women, 90 proof whisky, and 14 karat gold?"
"Amigo, you just wrote my epitaph."

"Maybe there's just one revolution.  The good guys against the bad guys.  The question is, who are the good guys?"

Some DMs may prefer to do this (fairly easily done, make a bag, put whatever potions in, save your avatar) but personally I like giving potion rewards on the fly, specifically tailoring it to the difficulty. And as for the distribution? That is an IC matter entirely. If you suspect someone is stealing, search them, beat them down, slander their name or report them to authorities to stand trial, etc.

I support this idea. Personaly I hate the big hassle after a big event where people have to devide the loot. Often everyone comes out bad since everyone (including the lvl 2 wizard in the back who heroicly fired his crossbow) wants a pice of the cake (And who is to blaim them reall`?) I belive Talir has been doing something like this for a bit.

Woah, woah now!  Crossbow firing is serious business, Disco_Spoon! :P

I once played a high-INT wizard that was told to collect the gold and potions. We needed to flee the area and couldn't split the loot right there. So we reach the Sanctuary gates and folks need to start leaving, or decide to check out the latest sending, etc... I go about my business... and suddenly remember that I have enough potions and gold for six people and half of them have logged off. My character certainly wouldn't have forgotten! Sadly, I don't have 18 INT IRL.

Take from this what you will.
