Tweak dispels

I'd be in favor of tweaking each dispel (minor, standard, greater) to make them both more efficient, and more different from one another than the actual d20+... cap.

They don't seem to dispel all spells on one target, only 2 or 3, and rarely the ones the caster would wish dispelled.

Maybe have something like minor dispel taking of 3 spell, dispel taking off 6, and greater taking off 9 would do the trick?

Any other ideas welcome on that topic...

Dispels are pretty amazing already. One high level dispel will strip everything on a character. Especially if it's just potions. I am pretty against this change, especially as it would make a lesser dispel better then say, Spell Breach, which is really pretty awesome.

If you cast dispel directly, it is really awesome. I have an abjurer in the Underdark, and when he flung a dispel at something, particularly someone potion buffed as Gippy pointed out, he stripped most if not all their buffs. The only time you really struggle with dispelling is when you are trying to dispel another caster. And when you think about it, that makes sense. It should be harder to dispel a caster.

Have to remember that the dispel check of 1d20, +1 per caster level (to a maximum of +X) against a DC of 11 + the spell effect's caster level is made against each of the buffs the target has up. So there is a chance you may get some bad rolls here and there. If you are a caster though, dispelling is indeed very effective.

Yeah, sort on the side with Gippy. Dispels are already too strong in my sense. Not only is there really no save, making it impossible to "guard" against being dispelled but it also bypasses spell resistance although it shouldn't (I believe that is due to bioware bug but still, that just makes it completely impossible to avoid or even try to buffer against).

If anything, first make the dispels weaker (as in counterable) and then maybe think about twinking it in a positive way.

Caddies

I'd like to see more Dispel charges on ambient loot, but other than that its definitely fine working how it is. Dispel is already very effective- and its important that casters keep their edge, too.

I think dispels are great as they are; though I always thought the advantage Dispel has over Lesser Dispel is a little low, but again, too minor to be much of a concern.
