Egon the Monkey

So, Alvin. A PC that was equal parts trying to keep the Conclave from blowing itself up, and managing to succeed beyond what I hoped when I started. I hadn't had this much fun on a PC in months! It is indeed possible to play a 13 Charisma 14 Intelligence Half Orc and rock out.

Alvin Anderson was the bastard son of Hoarran mercenary Alice Anderson, who kept the child after escaping orcan captivity because she saw a great irony in using him as a weapon against her enemies. His 'father', Alice's husband taught him smithing and mechanical skills and he spent his adult years selling his craftsman's services to armies or volunteering for attacks on orcs. He was as good at making beautiful instruments as he was at making engines of destruction, but he rarely had the time to sit about playing the mandolin on Ymph. The driving force behind Alvin was a desire to be seen as a man and an equal, not a monster waiting to happen. To that end he affected the manner of a stereotypical academic, right down to a pair of completely fake spectacles. He only really showed all his anger when fighting Orcs, who he despised for his very existence and fought with a berzerker fury. I once punched a Shaargass Disciple to death on him :D. Alvin was extremely loyal and proud of the Conclave despite knowing all its failings, because they treated him with respect equal to that of his companion, Dulcimer. He died as he lived, bellowing inspiration and trying to organise squabbling mages into an army.

Still, famous last words:

Raiding an Illithid's porno collection, the filthy sod:

A halforc helping build a defensive weapon for the DWARF hold. Counting Dalgad as a friend in the last days of EFU:A was probably the strangest alliance any of my PCs had.

Alvin's hammer was a weapon with a hell of a tale behind it. This tale involved racially insensitive jokes. It subsequently involved deciding to screw over my audience and stab him to death with a dagger. Somehow Alvin lived through it and my allies had the sense to steal all those prizes to the left :D.

I can't believe we managed to steal this thing from the giant.

For all of you wondering how to get your own Giant Lump of Granite Badassery, the answer is to scare the crap out an ancient wizard!

Negotiating a fiendish contract to obtain ice from hell. Whatever Johannes is on, I want a barrel of the stuff!

Helping to create RoboPaladin.

Thanks to everyone who interacted with Alvin, but especially Omma, without whom this never would have been possible as I was about a week from retiring the PC for failing to get into the Conclave when his PC recruited Alvin as a Consort. RwG, I wish we'd have got further with hiring Mack as the Conclaves scummy spymaster. Howland for all the help in moving plots and for THE TRUMPET. LiAH4, for one seriously unusual and impressive dwarf. D_I, it was good to be in a faction with you for once bro. Rena's player, you made a great rookie to teach. And everyone else.... cheers!

Listen in Silence

One of my best memories of Alvin is watching him play the blues at the Order's celebration of the bog battle 'victory'.

Kudos on the character, bro.

Alvin was fun. Those days got crazy fast too.

Divine Intervention

Probably the only pc Larenzia could get along with in the conclave with some level of respect.  A shining example of Awesome Neutral.

O.O
you punch you Cthullu while you were at it?

I wish I got to interact more with this guy!

The Old Hack

Karrin loved Alvin. If she had been the type to enter the Conclave, he'd have been her pick of a Consort.

strange alliance indeed! Well done. :)
