Rat Familiar

My alt has as issue with his familiar. It is a Rat, and will not move nor follow me nor respond to any nwn commands. I can control it normally using the control companion tool, however even if directed to attack--it will simply stop after the target dies. Yes, I made sure I wasn't telling it to Hold Position. Possessing it gives me control correctly, however, it does not fix the issue.
