What?: +1 AC tower shields in the drop list.

Why?: They are, functionally, inferior to heavy shields in every way. Their ACP is so heavy that you cannot get the tumble AC bonus, not even in lighter armor, nor can one even make the DC check to avoid taking AOOs. They are incredibly heavy, at 27 pounds minimum and 45 pounds maximum.

Having something to fit the aesthetic of a heavy, lumbering knight is super cool.

If there is a concern that this could potentially be exploited by a multi-class with tumble accessibility, you can put a OUB tag, for Fighters, Rangers, Barbarians, Clerics, Wizards, Clerics, etc and forbid the usage if the character has any levels in Bard or Rogue, like the Alleyprowler Slippers.

Are tower shields in CoR inferior to medium shields?
Yes.

Are they super stylish though and make you look like a real lumbering superknight badass?
Yes.


Sure, it would be nice if tower shields got a bit of love. But at the same time the pure style they ooze is enough to justify the extra weight.
I am saying this as someone who played a few characters in CoR that utilized tower shields.
