Dearest Major,

I have completed the task you had set me upon my sabbatical's outset, which was to convey your condolences to the surviving kin of your friend, Marcellus Saenus, upon his death in the war against the Thousand Clans. His only accepted issue, Ricardus Saenus, was appreciative; we spoke at a funeral pyre in Bet Nappahi, where Marcellus and others of our honored dead were granted peace.

However, the scope of my activities in Ephia's Well has slightly exceeded the bounds of that task.

I believe I am to be Legate.

If this is so, I wonder if you might be granted the honor of accompanying the Crown Princess upon her ashsail to Ephia's Well, and if it would be wise to prepare for such an invitation, on Maribeh the 3rd. I beg your pardon for the short notice, but the politics here can change with the wind.
