Voiced Citizens of Ephia's Well,

My candidacy is one that is established with you in mind. You have given to this city and now you are due. My time with the Scribes of the Sublime Garden has taught me much of the function of governance, I wish to apply it now in practice.

At home, you can expect these proposals to come to life.

Allow me to begin with the matter of assemblies. I will pass legislation that compels the standing Legates to host more assemblies, inviting the public to engage in the forming or striking of laws. An old tradition, lost in favor of passing legislation without opposition from the public, for it was not their vote they hoped to court, but the voting blocs of the established powers.

To keep these new assemblies timely, the subject matter shall written a week in advance, and submissions from the Voiced public will be added to the list. The topics will be given a five minute introduction, with votes to be cast in approval or denial. Opposition of strong opinions will be given five minutes on cross, if an oral argument is required.

You can also expect my administration to efficiently utilize our taxes. Taxes that shall not be hoarded in our coffers, but spent on things desired by the public. The possibilities are endless, but allow me to provide a few ideas, in absence of the public's ideas.

Would you want a craftsman's service to be at the cost of service? The Palatial Pyramid could withdraw from its coffers at the end of the month to fill the profit margins of the craftsman, while keeping the Voiced customer's prices low.

Or perhaps you want free transportation across The Disc for yourself, or your business? The Palatial Pyramid can use proceeds from tax money to pay caravan companies for Voiced citizens and permit passage at a fixed rate, ranging anywhere from businesses to private individuals, at no cost to the Voiced citizen.

Of course, the world is always changing, new markets and opportunities emerge, it is of interest to Ephia's Well to be engaged in them. Is there a specific industry in Ephia's Well that is lacking, that the Voiced public believes is crucial for our common good? We can subsidize the cost of creation.

Any one of these, and the ideas of the public, can be made a reality.

But let us turn out attention to outside of this city. Our honor in tatters, regarding our open betrayal of Kha'esh. Ephia's Well, as far as The Disc is concerned, cannot keep its word. This is an added weakness to us, for even now, Kha'esh embraces Qa'im and means to assail us, building a network of allies across the region.

If left uncontested, they shall return united and lay waste to our city.

I will not let that happen. I will deliver unto us alliances forged in good faith and honest intentions. The betrayals of the past shall be left in the past, the bonds of the future shall be affirmed. From Ramieton to Tlonsiyya and beyond, we shall create a new network of partners, allies, friends, to call our own, and mutually prosper in both trade and security.

I shall also introduce legislation to protect these alliances from the whimsy of future administrations. With so much to lose and so little to gain in the political situation that we find ourselves in, we cannot afford to turn over the hourglass and undo what work we have done, we shall strive to both give trust to our name, and protect the well-being of our citizens.

These are not slogans, but promises. Vote for me, Amani al-Ibrahim of the Gold League, and I shall fulfill them!
