May this find you well,

I'll begin with relating my appreciation of the words we shared at the Garrison. I have, and will gladly pass on further receipts that we have charged with regard to the Trial funds demanded by the State. The terms you have laid out are for the most part agreeable in addition to the simple six-month mandate offered at Court. The Legion will abide all terms, save this unsettling assumption made regarding their collection.

Collection of these levied fines are the purview solely of the Legion. It is the Fourth whom is charged with the enforcement of the Penal-Code, it's mandates. It is the Fourth to prosecute, levy, and collect, any and all fines within the Citadel. Extremely close coordination on these matters is encouraged and promoted, but any overlap in this regard cannot be encouraged. We will enforce this payment regimen, we will accept the consequences in regard to failure to maintain it. But, we will not ever abdicate our responsibility for their collection. Payment will be processed by the Legion, a Scribe may be called to witness, and or accept the receipts written once they have been issued. In this regard the Legate Linwood and the Deputy Chief-Scribe have been informed, the former having accepted and signed a statement to that effect in full support, which I shall provide attached to this letter for your records:

Quote from: Garen LinwoodWrit of Guarantee,
Legate Linwood reiterates and renews his support of the Legion's authority to collect all fines levied in accordance with the Well's Penal-Code. This is in particular, but not limited to - the Case of Descent tried in recent memory.

Hanson Gilbracht, Garen Linwood,
Qdim 15th, IY 7789

I suggest disseminating this information amongst the Pyramid, to your colleagues, and the Legates. The Scribes of the Sublime Pyramid are a valued and vital piece of the State's interests, and fellow servants of the Sultan. There ought be common understanding with respect to that. It would be undue for further disturbance to occur regarding the matter.

Should you seek any further information regarding these payments, or their collection, we will always be willing to provide. As things stand here below I shall tally the current totals, and their outstanding balance.

Quote from: Outstanding and Unpaid FinesOutstanding Fines,
Hanson Gilbracht,
Total paid: 5039, balance of 36794 outstanding.
Shum Sheroy,
Total paid: 7956, balance of 33877 outstanding.
Armin Albertos,
Total paid: 5949, balance of 35884 outstanding.
Eva Keter,
Total paid: 13821, balance of 28012 outstanding.

There is also a payment of 12000 on record for Jamileh Attar, however it has been made clear the same punishment has not yet been levied against her. We can collect fines, but cannot draw from them save the Allotment. Perhaps the State could reimburse her? I am unsure. I reiterate, if there is anything further you require at all A Legion Duty-Sergeant is always available.

Live and drink,
Hanson Gilbract, Qdim 15th IY 7789
