Legate,

I'm sure you sighed when the Scribe handed you this letter. 'Ugh, another one?'

But I'd like to think we're closer than most of the others knocking down your door.

That's why I'm writing to you today. I understand there may be a rift between you and Enmur? If it's to do with the accusations put to his name, I think it doubly urgent we speak.

Let me be unequivocal: the accusations are fiction. I was involved with the Ashen Conclave's campaign for Faith at the ground level. To say he is complicit is to say I am complicit.

Our efforts were solely dedicated to winning her the seat, having a grateful governing head and perhaps a repeat customer in Faith. What possible advantage would there be in buying an assassin's knife to end such a profitable arrangement?

None. I have repeatedly demanded evidence and received nothing. That's not surprising, as it simply does not make sense on any level. What possible motive could you ascribe him? All Enmur's detractors have is the word of an assassin that they themselves seem all-too-comfortable around.

Let's talk before you vote? Despite present discomforts, we would value your support and gladly let any such misunderstanding be bygones. I can't imagine the screeching you've had in your ear about this, so I'd like to, at minimum, provide you the facts.

Kana,

Sorry for getting back to you so late, the letters were indeed piling up. I found myself feeling shriveled, withering at the idea of facing this election's politics, so I took some time to clear my head. I don't wish to talk of the accusations or Faith anymore, I just want to move on. I do wish I had met with you however, I regret not answering your call.

It feels as if I am on a raft in an ocean, beginning to fill with water. Sinking more and more under the weight of things, surrounded on all sides by wants, issues, promises, and I do not know who I can trust. I liked you however, I think you would host a great tournament. I'm just not sure I can trust Enmur.

If you're reading this, come talk to me. I'll answer this time.

Best,

Garen
