[/INDENT][/INDENT]As the dust settles on what the common folk are now calling the Queen's War, the balance of power in the Colony has changed. A new power has arisen in the seething slums of the Docks, its ascension as mysterious as it was swift. And borne upon these winds of change are cries of liberty voiced from hoarse throats, yelled by free men eager to live a life unshackled by the burden of Old Port's rule.

These free men are the Sons of Sabuth. As diverse as they are vocal, the Sons of Sabuth are a collection of soldiers, rebels, criminals, gangsters, sailors, fishermen, anarchists and freethinkers united by a dream of freedom and a distaste for authority. Having recently clinched a tenuous independence from the Duchy of Ymph, the Sons now look to build upon early successes and ensure the shadow of Old Port never again falls upon the muddy streets of the Docks.

Caddies

In case anyone was wondering about the goals and agenda of the Sons of Sabuth, here are some things the typical PC would be getting up to as a member of this Major DM Faction:

- Work to build the Docks into a free utopia
- Defend the Docks from outside forces
- Work to keep out centralized authority from springing up within the Docks, encouraging gangs to a point
- Work to ally gangs under the Sons of Sabuth banner
- Commit acts of piracy and espionage against Old Port in general
- Commit acts of quiet thievery against the wealthy, the nobles and the authorities of the Duchy and Old Port
- Investigate and crush slavers, sheltered escaped slaves
- Keep an eye on the Docks, and ensure its exceptionally minimalistic penal code is followed
- Work to keep the people of the Docks fed and happy
- Burn Old Port to the ground

And of course, a whole gamut of quieter goals to be found out through advancement in the ranks. ;) Suffice to say there are some great secrets to the Docks and this faction we've come up with for PCs to investigate/find out over time.

Additionally, the faction was designed to be very loose in terms of what kinds of PCs are applicable, ranging from pretty much every alignment, race, religion, background and class (with a few exceptions, of course). Its an excellent faction that will be fun to play in, so get those apps in!
