I installed neverwinter nights on a different laptop and everything seems to be fine... It's a teensy bit laggier than I'd like but I think that's related to the main problem which I can't seem to fix. My character along with all NPCs and fellow PCs is has a fully reflective metallic skin. How to fix?

update graphic drivers.

Depending whether it is ATi or Nvidia, some graphic cards and drivers tend to cause that kind effects.

Much obliged. Is there a particular website I should go to to accomplish this, or should I do it from my desktop? I'm not terribly computer savvy I'm afraid.

Find out which of the two cards you have then hop on the respective website - should have an option where you can type in your card type and it'll show you the latest drivers you can download.
