I should clarify, on quests. This is what you should do. Because some people say its cliche or boring is only because they know they've done it a million times. Because it is how to play smart.

Yup. If your PC is surviving by never playing their concept, then they're as good as dead, because the character you wanted to tell the story of no longer exists. Oh, I forgot "and join a faction". That way you always have an IC reason to quest with people and do stuff without having to be the expected buffbot. Just be smart on how you use your PC. You'll get the most fun if you play with characters that know how to work with your guy. Such as the Fighter on point who directs what they need shot, so you know you're placing fireballs where it's useful.
