Levels of Withering

I have been noticing that since Old Port people seem to ignore the effects of different stages of withering, not considering that more advanced stages give the person affected worse and worse effects.

I think that it would be helpful for people that are used to live with green ones for an entire chapter of EFU a concise list of the effects of the withering upon the body of a target. (since most people do not RP them)

Like when a guy is whitered to the bones (dark green glow), the bones start being exposed and flesh falls with regularity. The person afflicted looks too close to what an undead would look like.

Even the lightest glowing is already upsetting, considering the pustules upon the face and similar stuff twisting the rest of the body.

For people that do not suffer from such curse, all these things would be enough to make them want to keep distance from the greenies, unless they really have a good reason to not use their clerical powers against undead.

I agree. As a way to help this, could we make the Withering effect notices you get as a player, the "You cough up blood, with black bile" ones, public rather than private?

Best would be to have everyone emote it themselves, but if its easy to do this, it would help.

I would say there's a fair amount of stigma already for a green PC wandering around us clean, healthy folk. I've seen people emote it properly, and if even when I haven't, the general reaction to them from others is what you would expect to see, considering they're slowly rotting away. Making withering more noticeable at this point in time seems like a bit of a waste of resources, considering what else there is to work on...

The DMs were against it on the past due to spam.

But I think that people got used to oversee the traits and not consider the worse stages as something really troublesome.

I think a public listing of the effects would be enough, just so people might reconsider how lovely the green ones would not be.

The Machinist

Would be a lot less spam given the few that are about. But yes I agree may not be worth the effort.

Why waste time for something maybe 5 total pc have and likely will die semi soon.

Diagnose withering is still in the player tools!

granny

I don't remember quite all details of each stages, only that you start with pustules and end up without your flesh.

this poster helps into bringing a bit of awareness to the issue although:

Trust the very few PCs still around with Withering to roleplay their condition.
