On behalf of jzhmer:

For those of you who have been with Bel (probably Drabo and friends) to behind the locked door in the old conclave ruins, you know the reason wherefore Bel is so fond of locks, and gnomish creations. Drabo, Scrave, and Baltaire have been his friends from very early on, and have a huge influence in shaping his politcal stances in Ymph, as in the end, he fulfiled his oath to Neithu and the Panther tribe of the Stargazers, as the last surviving member of the Night Guard, and among the last few survivors of the Convocation of Gallants, in the last march against the Maiden.

He joined the Night Guard and the Convocation after participation in a raid onto Zatauro's Ascent, though he asked Mythanthar, Captain of the Guard not to grant him any official recognition. Therein he witnessed the fall of Engelrose as the very earth consumed him, and became a stalwart against Shylae the Maiden. He befriended Neithu in those days when gazers and Mistlockians are in an ok-relationship and took the oath to destroy Shylae and restore the land. As a result, Emlyn granted him the branch of the sending-tree sapling.

He was on good terms with gnomes and halflings, Pedderee, Defina, Nyx, and Degurk in particular. He even helped Pedderee to obtain half of the necessary tokens to complete her Watcher membership. He traversed the full length of the Underdark in Ymph, and was ambushed very close to Samson's by a Derro and was saved by Degurk, a lover of Defina.

After the Forgotten Circle seceded from the Watchers, he remains on ok terms with Defina and Degurk, despite his sarcasm. However, he was unconsciously responsible for Delfina's death, as it is he that made a sending to which Delfina had to response by going out of the Heart.

Caelun, Ikai, and Bel once travelled together in the forgotten woods when it was still shrouded, and there they gained great understanding of the Mist, as they came across a fox gazer, the grand master, and a dragon shrine. Bel is known in those days to "live" in the heavily shrouded part of the woods and make offerings at the Heart. He is also a frequenter of the Horn, through which he gained great understanding. As the Mist receded therefrom, however, his offering site shifted back to the dell.

Since Bel was in possession of a full set of conclave keys and gem-keys, as well as means to hold them, he enraged Cytepik of the Order of the New Netheril. However, Cytepik died too early for the plots to unfold.

Bel once shared with Grimmig the same goal in a restoring the Delving to the rule of the Thane, and together they travelled Ymph in its full magnitude, whether it be the depth of the slimy Nebezzdos sewer, the Netherese junkyard, or the bogs. They failed to achieve that goal due to some dwarven steward rushing things through. After Bulgebelly ruined his cloak, Grimmig, and possibly Olvir are the only dwarves he trusted. In the final assault on the Delving, Bel, however, acted more in obedience to the will of Owain's court.

The elven cloak was a first a gift from Drabo, which he provided wear in public display. He, in rather complex instruction, asked Bulgebelly, aftering helping him securing mining of adamantine vein, to "enchant further" the cloak in the hope that adamantine be applied to the clasp. However, Bulgebelly ruined the entire piece by scrapping it down and attuned the piece to that of a dwarf. It is the source of all his grudges against the dwarvenkind. However, after dumping the cloak to Grimmig, and he died by the crushing Noors, the cloak was somehow recovered by a hunter Milton, who found the Seldarine has restored the cloak to its original state, and again was gifted to Bel. From thence on, Bel proudly wore the cloak in public in demonstration of his allegiance to Rillifane Ralathil.

After the demise of Mythanthar, GoblinSapper's bard (the length of whose name approaches those of ents), and Celith, Arantrian came into his life. He played the role in joining together many scattered pieces of the puzzle and in presenting the mystery in full. He's the spiritual guide of Bel in his last days on Ymph, and the one who prepared his remains towards Arborea.

Nyx first came into Bel's world in Elmo's quest to secure a head of a illithid in the Underdark. Their bond developed when his interest turns to the Fellcrown of the drow and starts to travel the Underdark in search of a way to Traensyr. Eventually, Bel would move to Nyx' seeker hole. It is with Shelly and Nyx that Bel finally made his way to the Old Port via Sis Liman. Nyx sought to secure a job from Samson for him, though the answer of which we know not.

Lilaena and Garret are part of his life right before the end of Mistlocke, as he is a member of the Adventurer's Guild.

Harriet and Rauth are two deceased halfling characters that Bel fondly remembers, in particularly their jokes about the three elves.

His true allegiance, however, remains with the Seldarine and their cause. Circumstances have forced to him follow Thopsee Shee, Odo, and Owain, but he never trusted them in full, thanks to the cynicism of Delfina.

However, Bel's life is that of a set of failure. He failed to join Kepti in the Mist, he failed to confront Ojo about the gouges near his tower, he failed to sabotage the Mortals to bring back Hagrimm, he failed to get the Thane out of the enslaved Delving, he failed to survive the End, et cetera.

Some big events he has partaken in:

  • Scrave, Drabo, Baltaire and friends' excursion into the elven ruins to seek a cure to the withering.
  • Elmo's illithid-demon event.
  • The joint raid of the withered peak by the Night Guard and the Convocation.
  • Scrave and friends' raid into the Underdark for a formian queen.
  • Sanq and Michael's demise.
  • Last defence of Mistlocke and the Torizaelan puzzle.
  • Final clean-up of the Mistlockian well.
  • A chase of an illithid in the dark with Crozier and Clara and friends.
  • Last march of the Numinous Order.
  • Last march of the Mistlockians.
  • Thopsee Shee's event in cleaning up a hole of orges in the Canopy.
  • Thopsee Shee's blowing up with Mistlocke.
  • Auigen's prophecy.
  • The proclamation of Owain in the square.
  • A siege of Vrazdn's keep with Pal.
  • The duel between Billingsly and DRD's Sulliven.
  • The anti-giant propaganda in the Delving.
  • Free mystery pies served by Grosse.

A: Arantrian
D: Drarry

A: [A mournful tone as the high elf speaks in the oldest tongue of his people.]
D: [Drarry lifts himself up the platform, approaching the spot, hands holding his stomach, yet he stops as he catches sight of the strange runes at the rooftop.]
A: Oh, Belithrar, son of our Protector and Creator ...
A: Oh, Belithrar, my only friend ...
A: What dark day is inflicted upon us, that you had decided to join the folly of the Edan.
A: Yet your spirit is free --- and Shylae Jabbanath undone.
D: [He hides himself behind the pot, while peeking at the black-robed figure, chanting in a tongue unknown]
D: [He murmurs to himself] Spirit of the dead pointy-ear, keep from Drarry!
A: Hear me, oh, Sehanine Moonbow. Listen to my most humble word, oh, Father Corellon Larethian! Here lies one of my brothers, ready for his sojourn into our ancestral home --- welcome him, my holy Father, into the realm of Arvandor. [He solemnly chants in the old tongue of the True People.]
A: [He holds up his hand, a flame rising forth as his chanting grows in timbre and vigor]
D: [His body shivers as the chanting grows in complexity, and cowers at a corner near the fireside under a rotten cloak]
D: [He tries to slowly crawl into the tent, avoiding attention.]
A: Cormlle naa tanya tel'raa, Belithrar.
A: May your spirit soar unto the West, where again we shall meet in jovous reunion.
A: Farewell, brother.
D: [Drarry shuts himself inside the tent, leaving only his eyes out.]
A: [He carries the ashes of Belithrar and then hurls them into the wind.]
A: Thank you for everything, Belithrar ... I will never forget you.
A: [He then takes an amulet, descending the Old Stones, carrying it solemnly ...]
D: [His infernal curiosity drives him onwards, following Arantrian into the Dell below.]
A: Do no think that I did not see you.
A: Dare not touch this. [As he puts down the memento.]
D: Drarry sorry! Drarry ... just ... just ... curious! [He throws himself on the cavernal floor, shivering]
A: Then your curiosity should keep its distance. These are the last rites of my oldest and only true friend upon these isles forsaken by the Seldarine.
A: It is as he would have wanted. [Arranging the mementos on the altar]
D: [He prostrates himself on the floor, his head slightly cocking upwards to peek at the scene.] Drarry promise to the mighty elf! Don't harm Drarry!
A: [The beak of his helm turns imperiously upon Drarry, to whom it nods a single curt nod.] Then all it well, perian.
A: I did not share his beliefs, but he held in high regard one of your brethren's people - a spirit known as Kepti of the Mist.
D: [As he observes the scene, his expression betrays some degree of confusion.]
A: [He peers over his own green glow, shaking his head.] And you had best remain out of the withering as must I. Perhaps to some agreement, we can ensure this place is not defiled while the withering still holds above.
D: Drarry watches! Drarry loves wandering in uncharted lands!
A: Wanderlust ... [He speaks as if far away.]
D: Drarry wonders, do elves wander as does he?
A: Our people live long lives and embrace our freedoms. Many lust to find new vistas as their second century sets in ...
D: Drarry leaves Wistos in search of exciting adventure, yet all he has done is this shipwreck on this accursed isle ...
A: Alas, this isle is one that harms the traveler with its many ills. It is not safe to travel alone.
D: Drarry learns his mistakes ... Drarry wonders if the dead pointy-ear knows his mistakes, too?
A: [His hands shift threateningly, though no magic manifests in this place.] Do not speak so carelessly, perian!
A: His sojourn upon this realm is done, but he finds himself in a better place.
[Arantrian Valanir's Intimidation Skills are Acceptable?]
A: [The form of the darkly-clad elf, and memories of his old ritual atop the Old Stones make you tremble with the uncertainty of his power.]
[Drarry Wisto's Will is Above Average(Critical Failure).]
D: Drarry is VERY SORRY! Don't tear Drarry apart! [He yells out as he bangs his head against the hard cavernal floor, kowtowing, with blood trailing down from his forehead, and his voice is filled with dread and terror.]
A: [He looks on, as an emotionless presence, though imperceptible is the smile of satisfaction beneath the eagle helm.]
D: [Despite possible chill inside the Dell, sweat begins to drench his cloak and robes.]
A: Good. You are perian, and you know not better. This I understand.
A: So I will have you understand, that Belithrar has found a better place. He chose the folly of marching to the End of one of Netheril's great follies. He himself forgot the truth that he would let the spawn of Netheril cure their own mistakes ... at least I have seen him where he needs be.
D: [After a concussion perhaps too weighty, he enters into a state of coma.]
D: [His consciousness temporarily lost.]
A: [As a dark shadow his very presence seemingly apparates before the fallen halfling.]
D: [He would not be able to see, as his head now rests bloodies on the cavernal floor.]
A: [He uncorks a vial, splashing the fallen creature with a tincture of minor curing.]
A: Up --- up, silly perian.
A: [He takes a step back, observing aloof.]
D: [His head begins to stir.]
D: [And a few murmurs can be heard.]
D: Drarry ... no want dead ...
D: John ... another pie ...
D: [You notice his salive begins to drool upon the cavernal floor.]
A: [He shakes his head, observing the fallen halfling.] Rise now. Be off with you.
A: Unless you have a desire for magic, and are willing to pay an appropriate price.
D: [At Arantrian's commanding voice, Drarry suffers a start, as his head slowly turns to this sideways only to meet the harsh gaze of Arantrian.]
D: [He recalls a few dizzy moments of his word, and quickly curls up into a seated position.]
D: Drarry spent all his golden stones on pie ... He had too many pies with John ... and got up too late for the march ...
A: I see. The "Mistson".
D: [His face seems brightened at the mentioning as he continues to speak in pride.]
A: You intended to join the march, a seemingly small victory against the Netheril.
D: Drarry good friends with John! He protects Drarry! [He snorts at Arantrian.]
A: Your friend, this John, is dead. [He states flatly.]
A: And this is what you reap, for insulting the passing of my own brother.
A: This isle continues to die, even as the select few who survived have found their own cures.
D: Erhm ... [His expression again betrays his cowardice as he seeks to avert from Arantrian's gaze] Drarry ... uhm ... said ... nothing ...
A: [He nods.] Good.
A: Now we wait. I will return to my place of solace. My demesne having taken flight at the behest of the spawn of the plagued mind.
A: You may continue your wandering.
A: And perhaps in time, I will seek you to learn of what you see.
D: Drarry ... erhm ... ackehm ... promises .... [His voice is not that of the assuring one, but mingled with fear and uncertainty.]
A: [His imperious gaze turns as he nods, with a flourish of his ornate cape he turns and departs. As an elven spectre into the shadows, he is gone ... though a whisper reaches you through the Mists seemingly.] Zed, Proprietor of Magic for a Price.

Damien

really liked this char

Bearic

Was fun playing with Grimmig and you.

The Old Hack

Grumpy old Gammer Bespoke never did make her mind up about him. But she thoroughly approved of his efforts against the Maiden. Fare well to the far realms, Child of the Fair People.

scrappayeti

Had a lot of fun chatting to your character. Well played.

Dillusionist

Had a ton of fun running around the isle with Bel and Grimmig. Too bad we never got to see what was behind that door in the Purple Crystal mines...

efuincarnate

Intriguing character!  Many hours spent stealthily sneaking about with him!

Valo56

I enjoyed calling him an idiot, slapping him across the face repeatedly, begging him to put some damn clothes on, and generally being an asshole to him. :P

adharmas

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yn1s580_pg0 :D

Bel was great fun, and kudos to our friend the jazzhammer for finding workarounds to the forums.

Funny thing about Delfina and Degurk being potential lovers, he convinced her to help the Forgotten Circle and she got turned into a beaver. The next time she saw him, he had a badger head. Dealbreaker! :P

Howlando

Nice job! Look forward to your next.

Kotenku

Well: This one sounds like great fun! I hope you enjoyed it.
