Dear Vellyn, or more formally, the honorable Legate Lhyrian;

I shall open this letter with a thank you. It is perhaps sad to say this, but we all lost many good friends of ours in Bet Nappahi, and you are the only friend I have left in the city. Alexandria's death has hurt me deeply and though I hide it well, the Citadel hasn't felt like a home to me since. More oft than naught I find myself ridiculed as a blackguard, and I know when to take a hint.

We were not always so cordial with one another, mostly on the part of my own addiction. But that is all I would push forth on this; thank you. For giving my Legature a chance for us to do some good. Alas, fifteen days is not long enough, but we had the beginning fruits of a fine working relationship to be.

These things take time. In truth, I find my stances and policies shifting, and it is no time then to focus upon politics but to gravitate and adapt to the times. I leave the Honorable Guild of Advocates in the hands of another. Perhaps Mr. Ibsum, who showcased his exceptional talent in the trial of Makhyoon Yaawar.

I have lost my way and found apathy instead, and I shall take some time to myself. Though the law is my passion, so too is diplomacy, a facet I have failed in before due to my own stupidity and foolishness. I do not know if I shall return.

So I wish you the best of luck in your tenure and future, and I am glad that in my parting days I was allowed to see a redeeming quality of the League of Gold so to the point that between departing the Well, I also considered departing the League of White to join your own, as I find my policies gravitating towards them more and more as I see the largest issue in the flaws of democracy, that each League does purport a democracy, only in different ways, and I am envious of the manners in which the League of John Syter has cemented themselves as the best of all worlds, when one sensible enough to lead them comes forth and shine them.

Farewell to thee, and my condolences for the hardship I have ensued with mine words and mine demeanor at times; Ephia in Victory.

Yours truly,

Edmund Lothere

Dear Ramez, or more formally, the honorable scholar, colleague and Magus Ramez Hour Sobhy of the League of White;

It is I, Edmund, and though I would not consider us friends, I have valued your counsel both as a colleague and as an interim Legate of our League.

You have always been there through thick and thin, even to critique and speak your mind, never brushing from the subject.

Thank you for this. I write to you as I would feel remiss to leave without saying a word. I am departing the Citadel for a time, for how long, I know naught. Perhaps I will not return.

You should place your bid and begin campaigning. The Well needs wit such as yours, and the firmness to uphold the will of the People. Or convince Jamileh to do so. We owe her that much.

Farewell, my friend, no matter what. It matters little if you would consider it or not for the Lily upon your shoulder brands you so! I wish you the best of luck in your future ventures.

Yours truly,

Edmund Lothere
