To the esteemed Zenithar Gaius Abael

   Salut and buona giornata Zenithar. My name is Finn Drogue; a practitioner of alchemy, smith of the Second Flame, and Graduate of Arcano-Chemistry at Sandstone College. In the course of my studies I have developed a number of theories and thesis I cannot pursue on my own, or even outside your illustrious tower. For this reason I am applying to the Tower of Q'Tolip and requesting an exception to your normal hiring practices, to learn under the tutelage of an Apothar and pursue my own great work through alchemy.

My thesis is thus. Alchemy is the art of bending and transmuting the elemental and esoteric energies that govern our universe into a useable medium. In the course of creation, many reactions open holes to places yet unknown, through which many entities pass through to our plane. This raises many questions, such as where do they come from? a time? a place? if we can open holes to these places can we also affect them from where we are? furthermore, based on what we know of djinn and my own pursual of translations, alchemy may be a similar manipulation of energies to the creation of djinn realms, so could a djinn or its realm theoretically be undone? Or broken into? could it be sealed? These are the questions I seek answers to.

Without proper facilities and the privileged learning associated with the tower I have come to an impasse in my research. I am perhaps the most skilled alchemists in the Well, among many other of the noble arts. I have dabbled in artifice, and I have completed study at the sandstone college. Though I cannot cast my own spells I have a fundamental understanding of arcane theory enough to make effective use of scrolls, wands, and all manner of artifice, of which I can produce samples if wished. Some of them you may be familiar with already. I produced the Champions Laurel that sits atop the head of Asherias Myl, and more recently the blade Llwbach the Curious, a blessed blade meant to bring ruin to djinn, now held by the Balladeer Onion. Several of the Apothars are also familiar with my work as I often seek their wisdom and supervision of some of my more dangerous creations.

I also bring a number of skills to the tower that are less common, and more clandestine in nature. If I do not wish to be seen, I will not be. Stealth and silence are good friends of mine. I am also talented with locks, trap disabling, and manual investigation. I am willing to employ these skills for the exclusive benefit of the tower spying, investigating, and otherwise going into places it is more difficult for the average nadiri to engage alone. I can create an array of poisons that range from annoying to terrible and deadly, and possess the medical skills to treat such as well.

With these qualifications I am requesting to be allowed to learn officially in the Tower of Q'Tolip as a nadiri. Know that my interest is not passing. I am prepared to dedicate my pursual of the truths of our universe to your institution.

"Esteemed Zenithars,

It has been some time since being rejected from you're esteemed institution, and I wish to reassure you of my continued interest in joining the Tower of Q'Tolip! In time since my previous application I have continued deeper into my research of alchemy and djinn, having experienced first hand what among the most powerful of their kind can do, and making further supposition into what they are and the realms they can and do create. I have detailed my findings from my experience on Hufaidh in a report to Apothar Cosmatos for the Tower's records.

As I delve further into the more difficult and esoteric alchemical processes I have managed to produce a true rarity, a product that may act as proof of my growing mastery of this dangerous art. I have successfully produced Aqua Metallorum, something few in the well could reasonably do, and I can do so again as needed. My skill will only continue to grow from here and I will refine and refine until I have produced a true master product.

I have high hopes that I have performed well enough as an independent with nothing but the skills I have cultivated on my own to briefly draw your attention. The Tower is the only acceptable place to continue my research, and even should you deny my application once again I will continue to endeavour to continue my research alongside the watchful eye of your institution.

Spellcraft is not this one's gift. But he is capable with arcane devices, and his knowledge of alchemical principles rivals the best of our Nadiri. He not only seeks to unmake the djinn with the rigor of our science, but has dutifully reported on the Rose's doings in Hufaidh.
