If you use a drug while under the effects of the same drug it applies the drug addiction to you twice.  So if you suffer from withdraws and take another dosage  you'll suffer withdraws from the second check save anyways.  Noticed something similar with lycantrophy if you had the infection tool used on you twice.  Not sure if purposeful or a bug, but highly debilitating.
