Jaheel Laelithar, Last of the Dur'Quessir, Avenger of the Elven People, has come to a satisfying end.

A big thanks to everyone who contributed to his story, including Lado for the cursed sword, Fitz for Nhuduira's huge impact on Jaheel, Diz-e for trying to talk some sense into him, Thomas for being Jaheel's version of Jimminy Cricket, Heavyfog for a great nemesis, THE BEETLE KING, and the rest of the wildlings!

[Hide=Background]Jaheel arrived in Sanctuary reeling from his people's loss and pain. He felt the powerful pull of Shevarash's vengeance calling at him. Still, he tried to resist it. He applied to join the Watch, even becoming a recruit under Paul Weston, thinking that perhaps as a Field Scout he could work alone and find peace in tracking down bounties, exacting revenge on what humans he could without killing indiscriminately. However, his reactions with the Watch and other humans were always painful. He was questioned about his faith by humans who seemed to disregard the great pain and loss he had suffered, and the crude jokes and playful banter of the humans grated against him.[/Hide][hide=Dur'Quessir]It was then he would find a notice, calling all of his kind to build a home anew in the wilds - the call of the Dur'Quessir. Out there, following Nhuduira Greymaw's leadership, Jaheel was able to finally acknowledge and be true to the hatred he felt for the enemies of his people.

He kept varied company.
[/hide][hide=Cursed Sword]Jaheel also had a cursed sword fall into his hands, and it affected him greatly.

Jaheel became a vessel for all the anger, loss, and anguish of his people.  He felt that in these dark times, every elf had to do their part for his people to rebuild, and his burden was to bear their loss and vengeance.  While holding the sword, he would also see actual visions of his people dying in the Mill Revolution.  Super cool stuff, courtesy of Lado!

[/hide][hide=The End]Jaheel felt that the dwarves were partly to blame for Nhuduira's death, and wouldn't be satisfied until Madoc Beardhammer was dead.  Heavyfog played a great nemesis, and I spent many an hour just trying to hunt him down.  In the end, Jaheel was successful in seeing it through, but it got him eaten by trolls too!  There's probably a lesson about the merits of revenge somewhere in there...  Either way, dying alongside his sworn enemy was a great way to go!

I had a blast with this, and it reminded me of how much fun can be had here in this community of players.  Thanks!

Sweet stuff! A great elf character who realized the state of his people and acted! I loved my interaction with him across multiple PCs.

I look forward to your next!

It was so satisfying to see the way Nhuduira affected Jaheel, and how he grew from the few brief experiences they had together. I only wish I could have stuck around longer with you. Truly, Nhuduira's greatest accomplishment was the profound way she changed the course of Jaheel's path.

Really cool to see that kind of unsolicited encouragement of concept by a DM. Shame I never got to meet this character, looked like an interesting one.

Though I did walk into that scene with the dying elf, invis and stealthed but immediately fled fearing some savage elven wildling murdering. Just recognized the scene after looking back at it! :D

The Dur'Quessir shall rise again...

I think this is my favorite Elven PC in my 2.5 year history with EFU.  His coldness towards humans in general was refreshing, and he actually came across as aloof, as someone who's lifespan stretched across centuries might be.  I'm sad to see him go, he was my best link to a world outside of isolation - I could always somehow manage to run into him somewhere in the module.

Bravo, Fishingpenguin.  Wish I could have been there for Jaheel's end.  I hope you have another PC lined up.

Holy crap man.  The waves of anger just came off this PC in waves.  So well done.  Glad Poot got to spend some time with him.
