Drow are a twisted subrace of elves descended from the ancient Ilythiiri elves banished into the Underdark thousands of years ago. A chaotic and sadistic race, these creatures play a prominent role in the setting of EfU.

For example, most adventurers are aware that preserved Ilythiiri Ruins can be found in the southern parts of Ymph itself. It is widely understood that these unimaginably ancient ruins are part of a complicated complex that continues on into a magical "Way" built by these elves to connect the surface lands with various points in the Underdark surrounding the city of Traensyr.

It is also known that Traensyr controls a very active trade-passage leading from its upper gate directly to the "Last Gate" of Old Port. A constant stream of slaves and goods brought to Old Port descends below, as well as many Underdark goods flowing up. One consequence is that residents of Old Port may be slightly less terrified of drow, seeming them more as cruel and dominating puppet-masters rather than terrifying nightmares.

Elves will pretty much 100% despise drow.

The presence of drow in the Ziggurat areas would require such a stir that a DM would be required, masked and highly discreet drow in the Docks may be permitted due to the general chaos of the area (on the other hand, such notorious slavers would be deeply despised by many).

Dinosaurs are sadly quite rare in Ymph, but are pretty awesome and definitely respected by people in Chult.

Are Great Lizards a type of Dinosaur?

Howlando

Not exactly, but perhaps closely related.

Juzza

Your character could certainly think they are dinosaurs.

Nightshadow

I don't know.. if I saw a Great Lizard I'd think "OH SHIT, DINOSAUR!"

Definitely no stretch of the imagination to think a great big lizard is a dinosaur, even for a Chultan (maybe especially for a Chultan?).

Yalta

Couple others it would be good to get clarity of "general" reactions on...

Duergar
Tielfing
Aaismar

May be good to consolidate and sticky the thread?

Spiffy Has

Fairly certain all three will be looked upon with fear and distrust.

Knight Of Pentacles

Great Lizards aren't dinosaurs, and only characters native to Chult would know what dinosaurs are. In FR, they're not even called Dinosaurs; they're called Behemoths.

Do some of the Bog creatures such as Gibbering Mouthers count as Abberations?

That's what a gibbering mouther looks like by the way. CEP has a good model for them :( Anyway, this has gotten buried deep, and Granny pointed it out. I'm going to steal this info and use it in the Player Compendium so that newer players can have access to this rather important information.

Can always count on my hopeless fascination for abberations to pull you through with grotesque imagery ♥

Look out, there's a necromancer on the loose!
