Air summoning theme needs a buff

Somewhat selfserving this suggestion, at the moment, but I'm hoping I won't be having the theme for much longer.

The air elementals don't have any feel of being masters of air. Since getting the theme I've been summoning alot less than when I had any of my other themes(spiders, rats, celestial or insects).

AB is low compared to many other themes and have trouble hitting most things.
AC is low for an air elemental.
They need a buff to be of any use really.

Adding some DEX across all levels would help with AC/AB issues - if their AB was put up near the insect swarms, then it would be better fitting.
And perhaps lower the bonus electrical damage slightly to offset the heightened AB.
Perhaps add some conceal to the higher levels.
Perhaps a lowering of their HP, at all levels, to balance it out - seeing that they aren't supposed to be toughs.

The primary use I've seen for Air has been as a roadblock so you can murder everything with Spheres and Bolts.

Also I'm pretty sure Air does have 50% concealment at all levels? It did last time I used it at least (which was a while ago admittedly).

Making all the elemental themes similar to the earth theme would make them vastly more appealing to summoners and in general cooler. Specifically I'm talking about removing the standardized template that only gets a minor buff between levels, and going with unique monsters for each level, which is a lot of work, yes.

Air elementals having steam mephits, basic air elementals, invisible stalkers and similar things would be awesome.

The above is a horrible horrible idea in my opinion, as earth summon are generally the worst of all elemental themes for this exact reason. Elementals should be elementals, not random shit.

As for Air summons, they were -very- awesome prior to one of Mort's downgrades of all insubstantial summoning themes. Afterwards they were cool for flavor but were not all that useful much without many buffs. This can be aided by those that know how to break the summon tree's through alchemy, and by those that get better upgraded themes via the Dms, but for the most part they became another base summon yawn.

I'd rather make the theme harder to get (non-base) and then make them better again. That said, Conjuration air casters over short durations are able to create semi powerful windstorms that phase through each other and do not hamper team-member's movements, soak damage, soak attacks and cost nothing.

But... Elemental casters used to have to strive to unlock these (certain magi quests), and as they become more available they've become steadily less useful.

They don't have unique creatures for each summon because that takes up space on the module.  The best you could hope for is a slight increase in power and Howland in the past has said that is unlikely for "stock summons".

Earth summons were boosted a bit ago, I think they are a bit stronger now and I agree that variations in the elemental themes would make them more appealing than the same thing over and over and over...

These are summonable by PCs. Their statistics can be viewed in entirety by examining them.

Only by the summoner.

You can summon and find out many things. Do it like that then. We still say, don't post them in forums. End of discussion on that part.
