Pale Master

Alignment: Any Evil
Hit Die: d6
Proficiencies: No additional proficiencies are gained
Skill Points: 2+int modifier per level
Save Progression: Fort High, Will High, Ref Low
Attack Bonus: +1/2 levels

General
While many Divine and Arcane practitioners utilize necromancy and the animation of the dead they are but dabblers at the feet of the Pale Master. Devoting themselves entirely to the powers of negative energy and undeath they are even known to take undead grafts to further empower their bodies with the dark powers of necromancy. The Pale master is irrevocably evil and corrupted by the powers they have chosen to use.

Pale Master Content: Many features have been added in EfU that make this a very powerful Prestige Class.  Before even submitting an application for this prestige class you should review the guidelines below under Earning.

Earning In Game: To begin earning Pale Master the following is a good guideline to follow:

  • Pale Master is a prestige class suitable for those characters with a special interest in the undead. It is a flexible class but generally characters who pursue this PrC will be willing to take the "next" step to become that much closer to undead themselves.
  • Generally unlocking this prestige class will require the support of a NPC or PC palemaster, as well as prolonged exposure to the undead (peaceful or otherwise).
Class Progression: Pale Masters on EFU are a very potent prestige class and receive many custom perks or advantages listed below.

Level 1: Arcane Defense: Necromancy (+2 saves vs. necromancy spells).
Level 2: +1 Str.
Level 3: +2 Con bonus, 50% negative energy damage immunity, 50% positive energy vulnerability.
Level 4: Str bonus increased to +2, for the Summon Undead the pale master can pick one of various EFU-custom undead types.
Level 5: Immunity negative energy 75%, Immunity Level Drain, +4 saves vs. death, 75% positive energy vulnerability.
Level 6: Con bonus increased to +4.

Mastery of Necromancy: When casting spells from the necromancy school the Pale Master adds the total of their Pale Master class levels to their caster level.

Mastery of the Undead: Undead under the control of a Pale Master occupy less summoning points, allowing more numerous and stronger undead to be controlled.

Undead Grafts: Pale masters may also be able to find special undead grafts to give them additional abilities.

Shadowdancer

Alignment:  Any
Hit Die:  d8
Proficiencies:  Armor (Light) Weapon (Simple)
Skill Points:  6+int modifier per level
Save Progression:  Fort Low, Will Low, Ref High
Attack Bonus:  +3/4 levels

General
Shadowdancers are mysterious people who for one reason or another have a close kinship to the shadows either out of respect, a kind of pact or something else entirely.

Shadowdancer Content:  While basically unchanged from the NWN rules, this is an extremely difficult prestige class to earn.  Before even submitting an application for this prestige class you should review the guidelines below under Earning.

Earning In Game: To begin earning Shadowdancer the following is a good guide to follow:

  • For a concept to be accepted, you must explain how you will use the "Hide in Plain Sight" ability and how it will foster more interesting stories.
  • Applications should include details about your build.
  • You must impress us with a creative and interesting concept. Being interested in shadows and wanting to be very sneaky is not sufficient.
  • This is a very difficult prestige class to earn.

Shifter

Alignment: Any
Hit Die:  d8
Proficiencies:  No additional proficiencies are gained.
Skill Points:  4+int modifier per level
Save Progression:  Fort High, Will Low, Ref High
Attack Bonus:  +3/4 levels

General:
Ranging from fey tricksters to the more typical druid who has mastered their shape-shifting ability - the Shifter can take on the form of nearly anything. Terrifying, fey and mysterious all at once. They seldom have a single shared theme or agenda from one Shifter to the next.

Shifter Content: In EfU the Shifter forms have been drastically altered.  The forms vary widely from the very basic to any number of powerful creatures, all of which must be found out IG.  Before even submitting an application for a prestige class you should review the guidelines below under Earning.

Earning In Game: To begin earning Shifter the following is a good guide to follow:

  • Learning how to become a Shifter generally requires being taught how to become one by either a PC or NPC Shifter.
  • To earn the Shifter Prestige Class, it is helpful to explain why - for your character - the Shifter class is more appropriate than simply continuing to level up as a druid (or in rare cases a non-druid).
  • This is a difficult class to earn.  Every Shifter will be different. It is key that you incorporate some fresh, unique angle into the app/character to explain why the class is justified.

Weapon Master

Alignment: Any
Hit Die: d10
Proficiencies: No additional proficiencies are granted.
Skill Points: 2+int modifier per level
Save Progression: Fort Low, Will Low, Ref High
Attack Bonus: +1/level

General
For the weapon master, perfection is found in the mastery of a single melee weapon.  A weapon master seeks to unite this weapon of choice with his body, to make them one, and to use the weapon as naturally and without thought as any other limb.

Weapon Master Content: Weapon Master has been greatly improved for EfU.  Before even submitting an application to become a Weapon Master you should review the guidelines below under Earning.

Earning In Game: To begin earning Weapon Master please review the guidelines below:

  • Have the feat Weapon Focus in the weapon you wish to be a Weapon master of.

  • These are guidelines, not rules.  As always, being creative about the best way your character could earn this PrC is the best way forward.

Ascetic

Alignment: As Monk
Hit Die: As Monk
Proficiencies: As Monk
Skill Points: As Monk
Save Progression: As Monk
Attack Bonus: As Monk
Special: This prestige class is applied as a template added to your character and not a separate class that you must take levels in by itself.

General
Ascetics are monks who, perhaps because of their philosophy or the tenets of their Order or for some other reason altogether, completely reject the aid of beneficial spells and effects.

Ascetic Content: While Ascetics eschew magic, they have several special perks and stances to try to compensate.  Before even submitting an application for a prestige class you should review the guidelines below under Earning.

Earning In Game: Ascetic is not a typical prestige class as that it should be applied for prior to creation or possibly shortly after. Thus earning this prestige class is not a matter of 'earn in game' like most prestige classes but rather instead based off of strength of concept and the record of the player's past characters. The following may be useful to concepting up an Ascetic PC:

  • Must be a Monk (normal multiclass restrictions for Monks apply)
  • Come up with the reason why your character refuses to use magic
  • Shape some kind of ascetic philosophical or spiritual belief system (most likely based around your Monastic Order, deity or something similar)
No Magic: Ascetics do not benefit from beneficial spells, potions, trinkets or bard songs of any kind.

Monk Stances: Like normal Monks Ascetics receive stances (some of which are designed specifically for Ascetics).

Hidden Perks: Ascetics receive a number of unique advantages as they gain levels to make up for not having access to beneficial magical effects of any kind. These hidden advantages are not documented, should be kept secret and must be discovered as you advance in levels as an Ascetic.

Quote from: HowlandoIn EfU, the standard prestige class Purple Dragon Knight has no mechanical requirements and should be considered simply as "Knight"

In order to approve a concept, it is necessary to:

- Have a creative and interesting concept
- Have an interesting code of conduct that is rigorously adhered to and clearly explain this code in your application
- Be "Knighted" by a NPC or PC with the privilege of doing so (i.e. anything from a noble Lord to a devilish Arch Duke)

Dragon Disciple

Alignment: Any
Hit Die: d6, Special (as the Bioware 'Red Dragon Disciple')
Proficiencies: No additional proficiencies are gained
Skill Points: 2 + Int. mod/ level
Save Progression: Fort High, Will High. Ref Low
Attack Bonus: +3/4 levels
Special: The Bioware Red Dragon Disciple has been expanded to include any type of dragon.

General
It is rumored that the magical powers of sorcerers and bards are somehow connected to the presence of dragon blood in their family tree.  Dragon Disciples are people who use their magical potential as a catalyst to ignite their dragon blood, realizing it's full potential.  They prefer a life of exploration to a cloistered existence.  Many pursue adventure, especially if it furthers their goal of finding out more about their draconic heritage.  They often feel drawn to places known to harbor dragons.

Dragon Disciple Content: While sorcerers and bards are the most likely to have dragon blood, any class can become a Dragon Disciple.  Those pursuing this class should follow the guidelines below:

  • Be in service to a dragon that can help guide you on your path to a true Disciple.
  • Have a plausible explanation or cause for your character's belief in his/her draconic heritage.
  • As always, have an interesting concept for how you will further use/pursue your dragon blood.
Breath Weapon: The disciple's breath weapon will vary based on the dragon he or she serves.

Arcane Archer Content: Arcane Archer is basically unchanged from the NWN rules.
