Ironman Mode

I've always wanted Efu to have a greater sense of danger/dread that pve mobs offer than they currently do. I know the current death system is an attempt at just that, but really it just results and frustration and fails to create the tension that absolute and true mortality generates. People should be quivering in their boots every time they get mashed into an uncertain fight. The idea of going out into the commons or scraggleway should be ripe with the danger of the unknown.

My suggestion is (in the starter area) to add an option for characters to commit to Ironman Mode. Die once, and it's permanent (be it player or npc). There doesn't need to be incentive for this (the thrill of mortality is its own reward!) for selecting this option. And it could help nurse players into the "OH GODS! I DON'T WANNA DIE!" panic they normally get only from pvp.

Finding more random pc bodies throughout the world also adds to that atmosphere of danger and morbidness I know Efu is always trying to convey.

I used to be for this sort of thing but it's not realistic. There's too much lag, too many transition ganks and too many times a DM kills you unintentionally by throwing the wrong spawn at you (it happens, and it's ok!) just make this a terrible idea.

Not to mention I remember I EE'd at least three times per day I played with about a 5% chance of the EE being a death. While DMs have generally been pretty kind about throwing out EE TRs, it's not something to count on and there's not always a DM around.

You can already play Ironman mode: just delete your character in the fugue. There even is a "retire now" option.

Yeah this doesn't need to be a scripted thing, you could just commit personally to ending a PC after it dies once or X times.

There's too many EE and other odd quirky deaths an IRONMODE player would  likely be begging a DM to TR them from.

This is what I am doing, after it's second death i delete the character.
Might be the reason i am stuck playing level 5 Character no one even knows.
