In lieu of more recent events experienced, it occurred to me one of the more glaring flaws of the blackout system and perhaps, this suggestion may prove useful for future encounters.

What?: A command to coup de grace blacked out targets.

Why?: As it stands, being blacked out and on the ground is safer than being merely subdued, as the unconscious body is impervious to harm without direct DM assistance. You may ask; why not just wake them up and deal the FD damage? The suggestion in particular is for time efficiency. It takes time for them to load in, then get put on the map, not counting the not-so-uncommon chance of them simply crashing mid load-in due to the funky state of Enhanced Edition. Precious times in which people storm the hostage taker, or time for people to arrive on the scene and witness something intended for only a few eyes only.

While the roleplay aspect may demand people take a hostage threat seriously, there may be the immediate need to carry out the attack in the event that a casting of hold person fails from a wizard in invisibility.

How?:
A command is entered, /c coupdegrace John (or /c cdg John for short). A description from the unconscious body starts, reading; "The unconscious body of John is coup de graced by Bob!" and the blacked out target is transported to the death map. The description of "John's unconscious body" is changed to "John's corpse", as per usual corpse descriptor.

While I'm sure this will lead to situations I gripe about later, I agree with the points made here, and I support this idea.
That's my purse! I don't know you!

The only use case of Coup de Grace on a blacked out PC that I can see is if it's not your doing, and some kind of cheese with someone elses victim.

If you're going for a kill, you should RP it and go for a kill, if you're going for blackout you should use blackout.

Soros Machine

This is probably necessary.  Especially given how BO can bug.

When you're killing someone's character you should give the player the courtesy of getting to observe and speak in their character's final moments. They should be kind of central to the scene.

Clumsy hostage taking is on you.
