The Paragon Court of Beasts

By Jeremiah Quill-Hersinger

It has long been surmised that as man organizes himself from least to greatest, so too do the beasts.  Great animal lords sometimes appearing to portent luck for good or ill, or to avert some terrible calamity that stands to extinguish an unreasonable number of it's kind.  White Stags, Gigantic Dire Wolves with glowing eyes, The legendary Unicorn and many other such beasts stand as examples of this belief, and in times of particular peril such as great wars among men, earthquakes or tidal waves when entire species stand the possibility of being eradicated, the Paragon Court of Beasts is sometimes called to order.  During these gatherings, the exemplars of each species meets under a banner of peace to discuss amongst their ilk the manner in which they might protect their charges in the animal kingdom.

Herein, find an incomplete listing of the known Animal Paragons, as well as anything known about them to suggest their goals, their characters, or their beliefs.

Scarrvell the Stray

Also known as:   The Stray, The Blooded Master of the Mongrelwood, The Weroance of Wolves

Rumored Lair:  Somewhere in the deeper Mongrelwoods.

Appearing as:  A seven foot tall man-wolf, with glowing eyes and slavering maw.  Often seen in the company of his pack.  You will know him as the one that stands tall above the rest of the pack of werewolves, as the rest will typically hunch low as to not appear to challenge him.

Notes:  Scarrvell and his ilk are exceptionally strong and keen-sighted, with the ability to see even the most skilled of woodsmen, and upon attacking, quickly overwhelm them.  It is far better that he be allowed to remain a myth and not sought out, save by those with a wish for sure death!

Greymalkin the Alley Prince

Also known as:    The Caliphar of Calicos, the Duke of Displacer Cats, the Hero Trickster, the Premier Misbehaver, and many, many more.

Rumoured Lair:   The Trickster Prince of the Alleyways is known to be of fickle, whimsical nature, and his mood changes as the winds. So does his suspected spots of Lairing.

Appearing as:    Greymalkin the Alley Prince is known for his ability to take on many different shapes and sizes, ranging from the smallest, most innocuous house cat, to a large, savage displacer beast. It is rumoured, aswell, that he may even be able to appear in human form. You will know him by his playful manner, his kindness towards friends and those who pay proper homage, and savagery towards those who don't, rather than appearance.

Notes:   Many beasts, small and large, serve the whims of the Persian Princeling, as eyes and ears and claw and fang. Not a spot in the city is free from his influence, and not a secret passes by his informants unnoticed. His ability for passing unseen, unheard, is unrivaled within the city, and it is best, have you your life and reputation dear, to only whisper his name in reverence, for you never know when he might be near.
