What an odd sort of place. When we first 'awoke' it was not something we could wrap our heads around. Detective Wakefield and Miss Fairbrace are much more intuitive and learned than myself. Yet even they couldn't decern immediately what was going on. We were all covered in murky water and mud. The place reeked and I figured I'd just gotten drunk and woke up in a canal but that was not the case. Turns out we're trapped in this city of rings. Magic doesn't seem to work properly and the people are a tad off their marbles. Which is fine for me. So far it's hectic. Myself and Detective Wakefield are taking it well. We've been thought plenty of rough patches but Miss Fairbrace can't get to her pal Arvo. Which is rightfully concerning. Hoping she can find a wizard of some sort to help her figure out what she needs to do. Ontop of all that we've got a lot of this 'groat' to gather up. We have got to restart the business. Which is going to cost quite a bit. Alcohol here is also rather expensive given that you want the good stuff. May have to hold off on a day or two for a drink.  Either way was thinking of writing up some shanties. Got an inspiration from waking up here. Maybe something like...

“We three woke on a stone.”
“We looked around.”
“But none were found.”
“This place is not our home.”

“The Wakefield Agency is renown.”
“We'll do the best.”
“After some rest.”
“To plaster our name in town.”

“But first I must drink!”
“So that I can sleep!”
“Is that a sheep?”
“Glasses clink!”

Well it's not perfect for sure...it'll take time. My minds pretty hazy and not in a good way. After some rest maybe I can put together some better work.

Last day or so has been interesting. A few picked up interest in the agency real fast. Curious how the advertisement seem to bring so many folks out. Guess this place is certainly lacking in good investigative help. We met with a few folks. Not going to disclose that information. Just encase someone pilfers this book or I die and someone loots it off my corpse.  So if you're reading this. In hopes to gain some dirt on our clients. That's got to suck for you! Just venting about the days gone by from a beautiful orc maiden who's trying to compose new material. At any rate, we did witness a few strange customs. A strange induction for an Inquistor of the King. Everyone gathered and supposedly could 'fight' for the title. Then shortly after there was something of a 'feast' where people would fight over the food? Not too sure. On another note Miss Fairbrace finally got to meet with the Royal Court Wizard and boy did she show him what for. She had questions that even he couldn't answer. I knew she was good at getting to the truth. Just as good as the Detective, I'd say. I hope she can get Arvo back. Miss the little guy already.

Also just thought this one up today! Think I'll use it.

“I drink beer because it's great!”
“You have to come and have a taste!”

“It's refreshing and it helps you relax.”
“It even helps you forget the rats!”

“Beer is king when it comes to drink.”
“Even if it kinda stinks!”

“So grab a mug and fill it up.”
“To get a bit of that bubbly stuff!”

“It's not a question it's a fact!”
“Beer is where it's at!!!”

Much better than the last one.

Honestly things have been going pretty great. Lots of things have transpired since the last entry. I've finally had some time to sit down and write some things. Omitting any pertinent or case related information of course. We finally gathered the coin needed to get guild membership with the help of a loan that we're on our way to paying off quickly! Then we were able to acquire an office! Though it needs plenty of work. Met so many folks. From the Arbiters to the common folk! Miss Penrose has been quite a treat to see running about and doing who knows what. Mrs. Helping hasn't been around in some time. I've grown worried and will be writing a letter to her soon. There's these two sisters. The Fantastic Sisters Brimm! Wonderous duo that. I hope they can get a show going! I'd really enjoy seeing it. Outside of this it's been really great watching the Detective and Miss Fairbrace thrive and grow. They've adapted to this place much faster than me. They've met plenty of allies without my smooth talking to help them along. Which is good. Because my fighting skills are fading quicker with my age.  I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep up. I'm one bad day away from no longer being able to keep them safe. Which is something I can't afford.

On to a more lighter topic. This is titled "Tiny Man." Inspired by a tiny little dwarven gear powered contraption that Miss Svansneffini.

"Tiny man, tiny man. How are you?"
"Tiny man, tiny man. Give me a clue!"
"Tiny man, tiny man. You're made of metal!"
"Tiny man, tiny man. Don't ever settle."
"Tiny man, tiny man. Did you change color?"
"Tiny man, tiny man. You're a bloodbeard brother!!!"
"Tiny man, tiny man. You've got so much strength."
"Tiny man, tiny man. You're about my arm's length."
"Tiny man, tiny man. You move so fast!"
"Tiny man, tiny man. You're such a badass!"

Well on top of everything that's transpired. There's been some major case developments. Let me tell you reader who's found this journal by one means or another. Except I'm not. Sorry. Anyway I'm sending a letter to Mr. Goric. I'm in need of a bit of training to catch my swordplay up. He proved strong with a blade so seems like the right call. We've done some prospecting and some ring running. A small group going with it. The others seem like well enough folks. I'm hopeful that we'll be able to continue to branch out and make more connections like that.

Here's a slightly larger piece I'm working on and plan on trying to sing while drinking in the Open Door.

“The day has been long, it has be hard.”
Now lets sit and drink at the bar!”
“We talk, laugh and some may cry.”
Though this is what we need when sleep is nigh.”
“A place where we can stay warm, protected and grin!”
“It's the pride of ticker square! The Open Door Inn!!!”
“You'll meet new friends and make them in droves.”
“Some people may even take off their clothes!”
“Relaxation and comfort are at a premium.”
“All topped with a price that is at a medium.”
“A place where we can stay warm, protected and grin.”
“It's the pride of ticker square. The Open Door Inn!!”

Well an eventful drinking contest lead to my last entry. That Noblestout Stout is the best! Though I still find the name hilarious as is. Booder. Mr. Gorick has decided to withold sparring sessions. So I may need to find another. In the meantime things with the cases are moving along great. I feel we're really close to breaking one open. Side note. I've collected quite a few of these small wizards. I can't quite make out what they're telling me but I've tried to keep them fed and warm. I thought about letting them go but in this ring that could be dangerous, given the Arbiter's presence. So I'm going to save and capture as many as I can before finding a spot to let them roam freely.

“Wizards so tiny. Their magic is curious.”
“How did they come to be so glorious?”
“I'll free you some day after I've saved enough.”
“Right now this world is harsh and quite a bit rough.”
“Wizards so tiny, their magic is curious.”
“If others knew, they'd be furious.”
“I feed and talk but can't quite hear.”
“Do not worry and me you don't fear.”
“Wizards so tiny. Their magic so curious.”
“I'll keep you safe from the Arbiters who's hate is notorious.”

Well the Agency has had it's time since the past entry. I'm deeply worried for the two. The Detective and Miss Fairbrace seem to be getting themselves into precarious situations. I've done my best to smooth over what I can. To chat with folks, buy people drinks at the open door and do right by ticker square's own. Yet as things got more intense I realized the struggle I'd been having in keeping them safe is just increasing. I can smile, laugh and try and keep their morale high. I can make jokes that often fall flat, yet get them to laugh sometimes. Yet I've still not found my sword arm. Those two are the only family I have. I have enjoyed seeing them handle this newfound world we've awoken in. If it comes to it. I will give my life so that they can live on. No music or shanty this time. Just a quick dive into how I felt. Cause I assume someone else is reading this after I've died or gone missing.

So the days have been tough and long. I a few friends have fallen to the chaos of the Rings. Though something has transpired that caused me great confusion and strife. As I fought alongside the Mighty Ikodo he abused the tiny wizards within his grasp to bend to his own will. Which made me concerned for the legion I held. So I decided to free them. As I don't believe I'll make it to the Warrens to release them in a place they'd be acclimated to. Though to my surprise they were still happy and told me of their Meadow and the troubles it faced. As it would turn out they had quite the conundrum of their own. The Meadows were wracked by fear and tyranny as we all know but the reason was truly the tale. If you can't tell. This has nothing to do with a case. So keep flipping through the book if you want or stick around and read about how I became the Hero of the Small Meadows.

The Wizards asked of me one task. To rid their world of a powerful artifact the Worldstone. It's power always wound up in the hands of someone vile and treacherous. Which had caused so much strife in their plane. They made it clear it would be no easy task as they opened the portal. I would have to travel through the Shattered Isles and vanquish the legions of harpies and their dastardly queen! I would swing my sword as the thousands upon thousands of harpies descended upon me! There was no end in sight! I grew weary with each swing and was unsure if I could even get past this first trial. Yet some how I rallied and cleaved the last one down. Now I would have to cross the Aybssal Trench! Said to have swallowed many lives. I made it through barely, it grasped me just as I was leaving it's edges. Then out of the woods an army of wolf men beset me. The battle was even more intense as my golden blade was barely making a dent.

I was surrounded. My large amber shield and armor were the only things that kept me from feeling the entire wrath of their blood lust. One by one, they too began to fall. Yet this was merely a test for the one they called The Doomlord! This must've been the one who commanded the power of the Worldstone. He himself said as much as he began to summon tremendously sized creatures to to assist him. As my strength waned I cried out with a battle song that lifted my spirits. So that I could cut down his monsters and take my blade to him. Though as he sat underneath my boot. He revealed that he served a higher power! The true enemy! The real ruler of the domain!

The King. No....a God. I would crush the Doomlord and rather than climbing the perilous mountains to get to this God. I decided to go around the mountains. Which was smart considering when I saw what I was to face. The trails before now were a pittance. None of them could match the strength of the God Dragon that was larger than the city it dwell over! However it recognized my own power and lured me into a false sense of pride before it pounced! I evaded it and a battle for the eons commenced. In the end my golden blade pierced it's heart and the dragon fell.

Now I just had to make my way to the mountain and past the various traps, puzzles and beasts that yet remain within the Temple of a Thousand Storms. This was a trifle task compared to what I'd been through. So easy that I barely had a scratch on my gauntlet after getting to the Worldstone. Once I had it in hand. I felt it's power and so to did the Wizards I'd freed know the task was done. They pulled me free of their world. They thanked me for freeing their people from the tyranny and temptation of the Worldstone. They magically encased the stone and told me to protect it from harm. Equally so I thanked them and told them I'd never forget them. They donned me....The Hero of the Small Meadows.

That's the story of how I got the Titan's Worldstone and became the Hero of the Small Meadows. You can believe it or not but it was a grand journey and quest, one I'll always be proud of.

The song is a work in progress. I'll come back and edit it later. Just to tired from the adventure.

“Your journey was long.”
“The world ruined and wrong.”
“Peace in your land.”
“Achieved by my hand.”
“Now you can rebuild.”
“With your mason's so skilled.”
“Safe and protected from all other schemes.”
“The Tiny Wizards from the Small Meadow seam.”

Well I can't say that it's been a terrible time since my last entry here. There's been up and downs. I spent a lot of time in the seams and adventuring. So catching back up with the Detective and going over the current cases was a relief. Even if some of the current ones are rather dire. It was good to be back at his side and playing the part. I'm not sure what Miss Fairbrace is off too but I don't doubt it's some sort of magical research. I've gotten myself more involved with the Prospector's guild. Zelia and I are sort of linked anyway. Not to mention we helped save her. I might join up but chances are high that I'll keep them as friends and allies. The elves have been very good companions to have out in the seams. I've tossed the idea of training again but I think it's best I just keep pushing myself. This will also keep the others out of harms way of whatever strange curse seems to befall those I ask. And to who ever actually picks this up after I'm gone. Lots of people die here at an alarming rate. This City of Rings is a nasty beast at times. You'll find so many of the citizens and awoken here will be very hard nosed. Just don't let this city beat you down into a mush of pessimism and worry. Drink, laugh and make friends. This place will be your home for awhile. Make sure you enjoy it.

Now here's a little ditty about the Prospectors.

“To the Seams we go!”
“Marching too and fro!”
“Guide us there Quicker!”
“Prospectors of Ticker.”
“They know the way.”
“The best I would say.”
“With their Purple and Gold.”
“They are a sight to behold.”
“Treasure and adventure await.”
“So don't fret or debate.”
“Join an expedition now.”
“I can tell you how.”
“Just do a sending and ask.”
“They'll put you to the task.”
“That's when they'll shout.”
“And tel you what they're about.”
“To the Seams we go!”
“Marching too and fro!”
“Guide us there Quicker!”
“Prospectors of Ticker.”
