Marcellus Saenus
Titles: Legate of Ephia's well
Portrait: To be Delivered
Status: Alive

Marcellus Saenus once served as a Outring scholar, recording the history of the rings and giving his worship to one of the many minor knowledge gods. He was part of a great Library-Monastery filled in part by his hand and work, but all came crumbling down with the Ringfall. Among these Learned Scholars, Saenus was one of the few with the wisdom to make for Baz'eel and found himself among the refugees dwelling in Ephia's well.

He quickly made a name for himself, resuming his work where it had left off in the outrings. His Prayers met with silence after the ringfall found their way to the ears of Izdu, and his Rising in Prominence at the forefront of archeological discovery and spending small fortunes on the beginnings of his new library before were assuredly pleasing to the Great Magi. He took up work with the Palatial Pyramid among the Scribes of the Sublime Garden, and served it ably during the disaster of the Great Ash Blizzard and the Betrayal of Diakos.
For his hard work and dedication, Saenus was appointed for a time a Minister under Sol Auk and took up the task of stocking and maintaining the Whitmore Library in Palm Heights, providing knowledge to all who might require it of him.

These long tenures of service, and a strong devotion to the Ideals of the Sultanate and the League of Purple, had Saenus chosen to Ascend to the Legate's throne in the wake of the Assassination of Legate Almirah, with the hope that his wisdom would guide the Well through the turbulance it faced. He represented the Well in the Congress of Kardesler alongside Interim Legate al-Rashid, and it was his determination and rallying cry that convinced all present to begin the march to War to protect the refugee caravans from the foul Sibilant host.

Marcellus Saenus wishes to see any who come to him reach their truest potential, to grow in knowledge, skill, and wisdom to to use those traits to improve others and the world around them. He welcomes any who would come to him seeking guidance, Mediation, or simply a listening ear.

Disclosure Statement:Legate Saenus was granted the status of a prominent figure by merit of becoming Legate. Despite this, he chose to display his generosity anyway with a charitable donation of 1000 dinari, to be shared among the Scribes.

AMMENDMENTS

Marcellus Saenus first term as Legate was eventful. After Declaring War at the Congress of Kardesler, the Legate headed the war effort himself. Weeks of Preperations and Negotiations led to him taking to the battlefield himself at the head of the Well's forces.

Though potential alliances of convinience with the Orcs of the Thousand Tribes fell apart due to his moral protests, he led the forces of the well ably through the Battle of The Red Hill. First commanding from the rear, and then taking to the front lines himself when all seemed lost.

Many decry the Legate for his use of the Astrological Weapon that brought down The Red Star, a devastating projectile from the vast void above that obliterated the enemy forces while contaminating much of the surrounding lands, the costs of securing this victory being something Saenus took full responsibility for.

Solving the sickness spread in the Wake of the Red Star was one of his foremost priorities, even as he suffered under it himself, working with accord to secure success. And when a cure for the sickness was found he was granted the first dose despite his insistence it go to one more needy.

Despite the Controversies that have covered his reign, Marcellus Saenus won his Re-election bid on the 18th of Qdim, IY 7787. Securing 28 votes and holding the Office now by Election, rather than perscription.

He moves now into his Second term of Office.
