To the Illustrious College of Balladeers,

I, on behalf of the League of White, seek to commission a play or performence of some description which should promote the values and electoral prospects of the League of White. We seek to put forth Akna Ymir, former Legate, as a candidate for the Second Seat, and hope to in our efforts provide joy to the masses in the all-too-silent Verdant Stage.

Please, if you should have any interest in such an endevor, write me at my address at Hasheema's Hope. A quote would be appreciated.

Miro Lac-du-Manse,

Lovely to hear from you and your wish to commission services of the Balladeers.
I am not personally of the White League myself, but having a look through the registrar I see that Balladeer Domergue is a member of it. I will look over some of the tenets at a later date and see what needs to be addressed.

As a preference, what were you mainly trying to get as a performance? You have left this quite broad as what you wish for. If it is a campaigning piece may I suggest poem or song as they are easy to perform anywhere. Do you have any preference for instrument?

I can see what I can come up with for you.

Regards,
Student Niranye Auvreathil

Niranye Auvreathil of the College of Balladeers,

My warm regards to you. My ambiguity was deliberate. There are a great deal of diverse skillsets within the College, and it was my hope to solicit those abilities unique to the interested artists. A play, as initially intended, might indeed be too logistically challenging for the College -- if this is so, we will happily solicit a song to be performed.

We have no preference for instrument, except that which is most pleasing to the ear and held most skillfully by the player. We wish for a piece that either endorses our candidate, Akna, or condemns the League of Purple, or some combination of the two.

Rhetorical points which may be of use to you: Akna Ymir, former Legate of White, is experienced. She is cool-headed, calm, and of a benevolent temperment. She is a successful diplomat, having placated Kha'esh while the Purple League beneath Zaniah enraged it and bankrupted the treasury in the past attempting to prevent war as a consequence of her blunders. Akna is a friend of Qadira. She will reduce the Voice price and, eventually, provide citizenship for all. She is a woman of large ideals such as freedom and equality.

The Purples, meanwhile, are paternalists. They are warmongers and imperialists, who have started a war with Qadira. They empowered and created Iakmes by granting him his enchanted rod during Marcellus' bloody and failed campaign in the south, which saw half the Ephian host cut down and the Red Meteor summoned. They will likely attempt to empty the Sisterhood District Fund to finance their many wars and military adventures. Marcellus is an avatar of rage and fury, who must be tempered, not intentionally enflamed as he has been by Nasreen. They are puppets of the Tower of Q'tolip.

These are simply ideas and narratives you might find useful to draw from in your work.

Miro,

I shall take this to account but I will not write defamation pieces about the Purple League. It loses its' part from being art and brings it towards slander. I will see what I can do.

Whyleth

Miro,

I have started to make progress on this political jingle/song you wished to write for former Legate Akna Ymir.
I am still yet to write the arrangement to go with this piece but I wished you to look over it first to see if there is any changes you'd like made to it. Please let me know and I'll make the effort to change lines you do not like.

QuoteIn the land of dreams, where freedom rings,
We stand united, our voices sing.
Akna Ymir, with wisdom bright,
A beacon of peace, shining light.

She's tamed the flames of Kha'esh's ire,
With words of peace, she lifts us higher.
A diplomat of skill and grace,
In her footsteps, let's find our place.

Akna, friend of Qadira, voice of reason,
Bringing harmony in every region.
With ideals grand, she takes her stand,
For freedom and equality, hand in hand.

She'll lower the price of the Voice,
In her hands, we'll all rejoice.
And with her vision, clear and true,
She'll grant citizenship to me and you.

Niranye Auvreathil,

Akna is greatly pleased with your work thus far. She has relayed a few points reflecting the changing realities of our campaign: she says that she will likely be unable to imminently reduce the price of a Voice with the obstruction of Marcellus and the ongoing war, and that it may be compromising to be known as a friend to Qadira. If these are revised, we will be satisfied with the work completely.

Shall you require payment, and if so what sum do you desire?

Whyleth

Miro,

I am of the mind not to charge you for this piece, I feel it has been some time since the Balladeers were comissioned to do any sort of work of this nature. It pleases me alone to know that we can place our name out into Ephia's Well once more with our work.

I shall go about changing the last two verses to reflect what needed to be changed, is there any other policies Anka is looking to enact?

Regards,
Niranye Auvreathil

[Another letter is sent in relative quick succession to the last.]

Miro,

I have redrafted the last two verses and presented it to Akna directly. She seems quite pleased with the results. So I present to you the finished piece. I have taken an old tune that once played in the Peerage Ward and reconstructed it into a new arrangement. I do not remember a lot of the song as a whole, as I only remember it from memory.

I have played this a few times in various instruments. In my opinion it sounds best on piano, but is easily played on guitar, lute and flute as well.

I hope this suffices.

Niranye Auvreathil

Promising freedom across the land.

So let's rally behind her, in unity strong,
With Akna Ymir, we all belong.
For in her hands, we'll find the key,
To a future where all are truly free.

Niranye Auvreathil,

Excellent work. Would you be interested to perform the song over the Bellows?
