Baublium as Tram Payment

It would be nice if a chunk of Baublium could be used as a substitute for the 50gp Dunwarren tram-ride fee, like shells used to be a substitute for raft fees in EFUA.

Prices for Baublium seem to generally range from 25-60gp so it seems like a fair price and a nice use for Baublium other than trading it off those factions that covet it.

The Crimson Magician

Baublium being used as payment seems like a great idea. It would also be cool to see some tram stations that only take baublium to function, making it more valuable to players and plots alike

The idea that Scrappers and Machine-dwellers can self-sustain in the Machine without needing to earn money is something I agree with.

However, I'd worry that using baublium as a generic machine resource takes away from the central conflict between the two factions that crave it. Players simply using it to make money (by not spending gold) without having to support Spellguard or Sojourners detracts from it significantly since that is where it will probably end up going.

Deepdrake

I would like to see it more common and a random drop on all quests. Surely after thousands of years it would have disseminated across this section of the UD. Then it could be more readily available to power amusing things. Of course it's value would be diluted but for the best. A+ suggestion.

I don't want to just agree/disagree here, but I feel I must.

While more baublium could be added in quests or drops around the server, I feel that its existence as a limited resource is good. The one problem is that once you reach lvl 6 its quite hard (impossible?) to get any baublium on quests. There are three quests which I might add baublium to, Power Core, Auxiliary Sewers and Exigent Thought.

I am also inclined to disagree that baublium should be used as a resource for the trams. The way it is set up now works in my mind, forcing PC's to choose who they bring the resource to and fostering conflict between the parties. There are, of course, other uses for baublium already, but none provide such a direct benefit as gold in your pocket. If it could be used on the trams, you'd see more people hoarding/saving it instead of pushing forward the plots which revolve around it.

My two cents. Please don't yell at me Paha :)

I personally dont feel Baubilium would make sense in being given to the tram masters but would not be against "Tokens" for the trams of some sort. You could even introduce rare tokens which allow access to new areas
